The hotel is conveniently situated just off the main road (A90). The rooms were comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was near the function room and there was a wedding taking place which meant there was loud music until midnight. We complained and we were moved to an upgraded room away from the noise. Breakfast was in teh conservatory which was a lovely room flooded with light. The cooked breakfast was OK but not freshly cooked. Dinner was served in the restaurant. There was a good range of choices and children were well catered for.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the function room to avoid late night music.

This hotel is very understated, the staff are outstanding and very friendly. I have stayed in a number of hotels and this is one of the best customer friendly hotels. You need to pay your staff more to keep them as they are your breadwinner. We will definitely be a returning guest. Sheryl thanks what a great team the hotel have

Location is good and on first appearance the hotel looks fine. However, the rooms were unbearably hot. No kitchen, so "continental breakfast". This is franky a joke. Why no toaster for toast? Where was the bread rolls? Cheese and meats, nope none either. What you get is plastic wrapped croissants that wouldn't look out of place in poundland and pan au chocolate bought from the same place, cereals, youghurts, fruit and that's it. Come on this is poor. Housekeeping. During our stay not once where we offered clean towels, the bins in the room weren't emptied and tea and coffee wasn't replenished. The hotel was once a Hilton, stickers, signs are all over the place and I'm sure when it was a Hilton it was well maintained, it however is not now. It feels tired, the staff seem fed up. It's overpriced for what it provides. For the right price then fair enough, but not at the price they are asking there are better options available.

We booked this hotel as the start of our tour of Scotland . The first night we complained of no air conditioning and apparently the service engineer had already gone home. They brought us a tower fan that was reminiscent of the leaning tower of Pisa and was very noisy and a heater that could blow cold air which they turned on its side. There was so much debris in this that we didn’t even turn it on. The next dat we were out and the engineer was supposed to come and fix the air conditioning but when we got back there was no sign of this happening. However we did get a fan that we could actually use. We were offered another room but upstairs and as I don’t do stairs due to arthritic knees that was no good. The food was ok but not of the standard of a 4 star hotel. At breakfast we were offered a full English and basically nothing else and it was only that I had walked past the breakfast table that I saw fruit, yoghurt and pastries. No mention of these from our waiter. Rey disappointed in service in general.

My husband & I stayed at The Landmark Hotel for one night. We had a double room which we upgraded. We also booked into the restaurant for dinner. When we arrived there was a wedding on so the gardens were pretty busy. The receptionist was friendly & checked us in without delay, acknowledging the wedding & that they were busy but assured us that it would not impact our stat (not that we were concerned about this) & directed us to our room. The room itself was lovely, clean & spacious. We had a king bed, desk & separate seating area. The bathroom was spacious with a large bath & a separate shower. The decor was lovely, modern & very comfortable. We were impressed. We arrived for dinner & the service was good despite the wedding guests using the bar for drinks (despite there being signs asking them not to) however I think the hotel coped well with the extra pressure & I can understand why they were keen to accommodate the wedding guests as much as possible. There was a bit of a delay in us getting drinks but they were very apologetic & gave us our drinks on the house for the wait. Something offered up, and not something we asked for or expected so a very welcome touch. The bed was comfortable & we found the hotel quiet. We both had good sleeps & we’re up refreshed for breakfast the following day. Again the food was well cooked & fresh. The grounds are lovely for a nice stroll after breakfast. I found the staff all very friendly & helpful. The hotel was lovely, comfortable & modern, the food was lovely. Absolutely no complaints. All in all we had a brilliant night away & will absolutely recommend this hotel. Although we didn’t use the pool the facilities looked brill & it is somewhere we’d happily bring our kids. We will definitely back again!!
