Well what can I say breakfast is like warm sill has white jelly on eggs cheap sausages etc etc .in the so called fresh fruit bowl I noticed a orange which was half mould on the skin .I pointed this out to the assistan5 it was removed and the rest of the fruit left in the basket.there is no heating turned on in the corridors they have been disconnected making it extremely cold .I noticed on room doors people Had rolled up towels on door bottoms to stop the draughts. The swimming pool was st8ll not in operation .for hot water I had to run tap for 15 minutes shower didn't work properly. A staircase near our room for staff to stay in they woke me on numerous occasions jumping on floor and hearing them having sex.this place is overpriced and spoilt our stay run by foreigners.

Let’s start I was looking at the website the week that we booked the hotel and it looked fabulous. I saw the outdoor dining. I saw the pool and I saw the views. So in my eyes it was gonna be great. I get to the hotel and it’s completely not what I thought it was. I walked into to the lobby and I was greeted very nicely by this lady as she was very kind and she helped me. But she then came to me and said the pools close the sun is close and there are no amenities. She offered the TV in the lobby. anyway no biggie then she told us that we could only have one room key per room and I was staying in a room at two. So not only did I have no amenities I also was not able to have a key and only my husband was able to. So whatever that was that and I started to go on the elevator, and two of the elevator buttons were broken they were smashed. so that was a little concerning. I walked into the room and already I was like what. The roof was like over the head of the bed and too close to the bedframe. There were stains all over the curtains. I walked into the bathroom and there’s black mold all over the bathtub. . It was vile. So we leave and we go to the staircase instead of going to the elevator because I decided that I wouldn’t want to go on the elevator again. I come across the stain glass mirror with a full hole in it, and I was just like what. so that an awful experience to know that I was in a hazard area. Not only that I looked on the reviews which my bad for not looking at it in the beginning. Someone said that they were throwing up violently after dinner and I’m supposed to have dinner there and I just get so sick and it’s just so bad. I do not give this out a five out of five I give it a zero out of five, but I had to write at one. I appreciate the woman at the front desk so thank you but besides that I do not appreciate anything else in this hotel. And plus they said they have sparkling water in the room but it was just refilled with regular.

Quaint Victorian hotel where the current owners fuse Highland Scottish comfort with Best Exotic Marigold Hotel style . Stunning views of the gateway to the Western Isles. Spices and local dishes fused - even a vegan main course or two ( big tick for me) Don’t forget to ask for Porridge for breakfast, after all we are in Scotland , whilst not on menu they do serve it ! A few observations, ( feedback) dates electric Dimplex heaters so in winter it’s a little chilly when most are switched off ( dont worry you can switch them on) . Then the shower , don’t expect hot hot water but warm . But the charm relaxing place , very friendly staff and the view - well amazing especially the room on the front . We had a great mini spring break . Value for money even if showers were a talking point . Will be back to Oban

Took the hubby for a romantic night in beautiful Oban and stayed here for 1 night. The good: Paid for a sea view and got a beautiful view at that! The hotel was warm, which is usually a given but, as electricity bills are sky high, heat is now a luxury! Arrived half an hour early and our room was ready. Reception staff were lovely. Breakfast was not bad. Chocolates on the bed, awww! The bad: The hot water in our room was not hot or even warm. We told them and they gave us a new room when we returned from our night out. Went for a shower in the morning and it was baby warm! They checked it and said it was the regulations - 45 degrees. The rooms were room 10 & 20. Self serve brekkie buffet, the toast maker was one of those moving toaster things. Bread came out toasted on one side, put it back in, toasted the same side and it went on fire. They took their time bringing out hot food, so if u arrive bang on time, have some cereal 1st or you’ll get bacon 1st then eggs 15 minutes later 😂 Spoke to another guest who waited 1.5 hours for their evening meal. All in all not a bad stay but not brilliant either. These big companies don’t have a personal touch, there’s never any ambience or style. Typical cookie cutter hotel. Sea view though…

Recently returned from a 2 night stay and can honestly say that we were so impressed with the level of service and comfort afforded to us, we rebooked before leaving for a return trip next month. We stayed in a standard double sea view room which was larger than average compared to rival standard hotel rooms, very comfortable and well- appointed with spotless linen and towels and complimentary bathrobes alongside the expected standard of toiletries and beverage tray. We found all the staff to be polite and very helpful especially on our second night when my partner returned later into harbour than expected from an offshore fishing trip due to the weather conditions which involved them juggling our dinner arrangements and making sure that we did not miss our meal albeit later than we would have envisaged. We were quite prepared for the fact that the pool would not yet be open as it is still early in the season and this hotel like some of it's sister hotels has and is undergoing some refurbishment which is being completed to a very high standard which takes time. The refurbishment of the dining room and reception areas in this hotel is fabulous. Nothing can ever be perfect and our only quibble was that the plugs in the bedroom require updating and installation of USB ports but this is nothing to deter from the actual comfort of the room. Thank you to Pamela, Kristen, Gelly, Alice, the brilliant chef and our lovely housekeeping lady who all made our stay so memorable. If you want attention to detail...watch Gelly folding the linen napkins into fans for dinner. Unaware that I was watching but each one precisely measured and folded; this is the attention to detail which really matters in hospitality. The management should be proud.

Wouldn't go back. . Hotel are a nightmare to get a hold of. I had booked through booking.com but ended up cancelling and going direct with the hotel as booking.com we kept receiving fraudulent emails from them. It took me 3 or 4 emails to eventually get a call back from the hotel. It tool about 2 weeks. We stayed in room 17 and the cleaner didn't replace the sparking water. Just refilled with tap water. My partner was drinking this thinking it was normal still water but I noticed it had a sparking sticker on it, the lif wasn't sealed and it was clearly tap water from the bathroom. I was aldo advised before coming that the swimming pool was on. Thai was a clear lie as the pool was drained and didn't look yo be going on any time soon. Asked for a pint of Gunness at the bar and received a warm can of guiness in a glass.

This hotel is a comedy of sorts how many amenities are lacking. After booking, they advise you to go straight to room where your key will be inside room - except it wasn't. The lobby and the restaurant is under renovation so they really do not want you to hang around the front, but I ended up having to stop by the front desk anyway for my key. Some of the lights do not work in room. Heater does not work. Bed is very lumpy an extremely uncomfortable. The back units are run down an don't feel safe. In short: I'd pay a bit more and stay elsewhere!

Comfortable and warm hotel. We stayed in the family room at the rear of the hotel which was basic but clean and comfortable. Easy stroll into town, nice service from the front desk and the restaurant staff. We arrived hungry and a pretty good pizza was delivered to the room

We were three people, a couple and single using two rooms. Before arriving we thought we had booked both rooms with a walk-in shower. Upon arrival we discovered we hadn’t been given that, but the receptionist worked on it and found us appropriate rooms. The hotel was full the entire time we were there with bus groups. This is a quirky place, an Edwardian building with some upgrading. The rooms were very clean but the decor is unique, we enjoyed it, but if you prefer slick modern, this isn’t the hotel for you. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. We loved the evening meals and when we made it clear we loved the Goan curries the chef came out to chat with us, it turned out he was from that area, hence the excellence of his cooking. Breakfast was good, really busy with the bus tour groups. We loved our stay in Oban and would cheerfully go back again.
