Great holiday and the hotel was excellent. The food was first class and the staff were all really helpful and friendly. The hotel is centrally located for both the town and the beach (Golf Courses) and a short walk to the local football ground.
We were at the Links just days after it re-opened back in June. We stayed for the weekend. The hotel was fairly quiet and that made it a very pleasant stay. The hotel had a bit of refurbishment and looked much better than I remembered. Staff was very helpful and very efficient. Room was brilliant, spacious and clean. We had a B&B deal with dinner one night. Breakfast was delicious, Dinner was more than delicious, was actually really good. What helped was the lovely weather we had that weekend, we could have not asked for more. There was just one thing I noticed: if you could get the windows cleaned in the rooms/hall/dining area as there were pigeons droppings all over the windows
Because of the COVID pandemic, we haven't been able to take our usual holidays abroad or any days away in our own country, but with the recent easing of some restrictions, it was great to be allowed to travel outside our own area, therefore allowing us to take a staycation in our native Scotland. We have just returned from 3 nights at this lovely, well situated hotel. The Hotel is a former mansion owned by a local mill owner (sometime in the 1800s), therefore retains some of its original, charming features, like the beautiful staircase with a huge stained glass window at the top. The lounge/bar, dining room and cafe/bar, although retaining some original features, have been modernised too. We had a beautiful, comfortable, spacious bedroom (No.17) at the front of the hotel, and with the added bonus of great weather, it was flooded with sunshine. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful and made you feel so welcome. The evening meals and breakfast were fantastic, and you had a great choice from the menus. The hotel is well situated for the local main street with a good choice of shops, and is within easy reach of Montrose Beach. It's also within a decent driving distance of other towns. A visit to Lunan Bay (only about 7 miles away) is a must! Would certainly recommend this hotel and we hope to be back soon.…
This trip was booked for a VIP member of our company. The room he was given was a really good size and was recently refurbished (I think during COVID-10 they spent time doing maintenance to all their rooms) We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was great and the service exscellent.
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Links Hotel. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly . The staff all work very hard and we observed them greeting each guest’s request with a smile and can do manner, they are a tremendous asset. Our room was an executive one in a newer part of the hotel, it was well appointed and very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located in Montrose. Breakfast had a wide range of choices and was very tasty. All in all we were very happy with our choice.
