Lovely location of a hotel, we booked a 3 night stay with spa and golf added on. The scenery surrounding the hotel is amazing and the 3 golf courses are exceptional (one being a championship course) the downside of our stay was the hotel food and service, breakfast was appalling on all days, we only ate here once in the evening which was average at best. The price you are paying for the rooms which include breakfast you would expect better (a lot better if I’m honest) I would say however the staff and members of the public in Carnoustie are very very friendly, well worth a visit to this lovely place
Love this Hotel, everyone relaxed and friendly. Location is spot on for a nice walk and looking out onto golf course. Very handy for train too. Great if you have a dog as well. Always clean and tidy rooms.
We enjoyed a two night stay with a dinner package. We had superior double room, with a view of the golf course, which was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. We used the hotel as a base for coastal and inland walks which were very good and well sign posted. We would not have any hesitation in planning a return trip.
Stayed here for one night with a couple of friends. The boys played the Burnside course and we ladies had a spa/treatment. There is a lot good about this hotel but there is also room for improvement. Maybe we were a bit unlucky. My friend had booked us treatments. It took me 3 attempts (spoke to a man called Colin whom I found quite rude) who said he couldn’t get us in for a swim/sauna prior to our treatments. However, I called reception to book breakfast (make sure you do this for lunch and diner) and they got us in; or so I thought. Arrives at spa at 1pm for our swim. Still standing there at 1.10pm. Go seek out someone. Find beautician who gets us a towel and directs us to changing facilities. Get changed only to be told that only one of us is booked in for a swim. This really annoyed me as I definitely booked 2 ppl. I’m not sure of the spa system and reception system tie up. It’s also £5 per person for a lane swim which quite frankly I find outrageous. I’ve never stayed in a hotel where you pay to use the pool! Anyway, only use the steam room and jacuzzi then head to our treatments. Our temperatures were taken a d my friends was too hot. It did come down and I totally understand why temps must be taken but just beware of this. Treatments were good and full time allocated. Rooms were lovely. My friend had paid the extra £20 for a course facing room however I really thought it was a bit cheeky given the women’s open is there in a few weeks and all I could see was scaffolding. Not a scenic view of the course. I did try and speak to the girl about this at reception but she wasn’t interested. I also think they need to get rid of the polystyrene cups in the room. It’s only a small think but in a hotel of this calibre surely proper cups for tea and coffee should be provided? Dinner and breakfast were really good. (No potato scones tho). The staff were attentive and chef’s food was really good. The hotel is situated right at Carnoustie beach which is lovely. I would return but I think they could do better with some things.…
We had a lovely over night stay at Carnoustie to celebrate my partners birthday. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is lovely! Food was delish and the spa treatments were amazing!!! I have been for spa days here before but never stayed and so glad we did this time. We will definitely be back
