whoever the person is who left a damming review is very wrong we have just stayed over the weekend a group of 10 older aged rugby players. We were made to feel very welcome the rooms are immaculate and clean . This is not 5 star hotel it is a no frills guest house but is a great location if visiting Cardiff at an amazing price and I would give 4 stars would be 5 if they did a breakfast thank you for our stay and hopefully back next year

Grubby room - superficially clean. Comfy bed, bedding and towels. No light bulbs. Good location for city centre. No frills or owner support. Please note this property does NOT have a garden, provide breakfast or WiFi despite current adverts claiming it does. Disappointed to find breakfast not available as this was one reason I booked. There were more than four WiFi codes none of which worked over six devices. Despite claiming this was a non smoking property cigarette smoke wafted up to my room all evening from the lean-to below which needed to be navigated when entering the rear of the property. Back door locked at night with no access to a key which was a concern in the event of a fire. Please don’t claim to have services when you don’t. If I was booking basic at least I would know I was - and paying less for it.

Pros- good location and comfy bed

We ended up being charged twice as much as we'd agreed, as the lady that made the booking told us it was £55 for a room and not £55pp. Honestly, I wouldn't be happy to pay £55 for the room, nevermind per person. It was sort of clean , but had no toiletries, two small towels between two people, no shower gel and a half empty soap dispenser. There was also a few dried blood stains on the duvet cover. Disgusting.
Breakfast was really not good and was only served between 8 and 9 am. It was lukewarm, very basic and a lot of things like Jam were shared between current and previous guests out of big jars. Something I find to be really unpleasant.
Trish was helpful enough but staff weren't friendly and spent breakfast muttering in hushed tones in the kitchen; very awkward.
Also not sure how ' secure' the parking was, as there was no gate.
We got told to leave our keys on the side, had no goodbye or thanks.
Really wouldn't recommend staying here and definitely wouldn't stay here again.

Hubby and I did a spontaneous overnight stay in Cardiff... First visit so unaware of the many reasonable options for good accommodation in Cardiff. This is not one of them.... Best to be avoided unless you are happy to pay £80 for a very basic, hostel style room with a shower that is no more than a hand shower which is either scalding hot or icy cold. Toilet has literally no flush to it. Would definitely not stay again... Way better options out there.

I requested to change my booking given my flatmate had covid, the guesthouse had zero flex. Other hotels available that do, so I would advise going there during this time.
Also , I thought I had booked a private bathroom and it ended up being a shared bathroom. Again, this wasn't clear on booking.com.

When calling to get some support, the staff just didn't care. Didn't even say sorry or hope you're ok.

There are better places in Cardiff

I get here on the Sunday and stayed one night. The room was lovely and clean. There was plenty of tea and coffee so u could make drinks. It was only about 10 minutes walk to the shops
If I was coming this way again I would stay here again

Filthy squallow, welcomed by a rat skipping passed the front door, left immediately. I stay away on business in various locations and this is the muckiest hole I've came across. I value my health so decided to leave immediately. Avoid.

Do not even think of staying here if you're going to Cardiff. They'll ask for card details over the phone and debit money from your account before you actually arrive. The people that run this so called business are thieves/scam artists/criminals. I'm currently raising a dispute to retrieve funds that were unlawfully debited from my account and will also be taking legal action against Park Lane. You're better off sleeping on a park bench than ever thinking about stepping foot in this place! Terrible as a rating is far too good for this place, all potential customers/visitors to Cardiff beware of Park Lane Guest House if you want to enjoy your stay!!

Room was the size of a shoe box, tv was smaller than my ipad, an inch of dust an dirt on my tv, an the carpet hadn't seen a Hoover, went to make a cuppa tea with my complimentary tea bags but they were all stuck together by the last person that attempted to use them! I know I'm a dirty sweaty builder but I still have some standards needless to say I won't be returning here!

But I'll always try an say somethin possitive........... the wetherspoons down the road had a great curry!
