We stopped here for a coffee and scone whilst on a walk. As we had our dog with us we sat outside admiring the stunning scenery. The cappuccino was fine but the home scone was delicious ! Friendly staff and normal prices.

My husband and I visited at lunch time as we were researching a walk and lunch for our walking group to do at a later date. We had a very pleasant table overlooking the river and it was pleasantly warm on a very cold day. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered soup

I am very sorry that you were disappointed by the soup you had with us this week. We usually make excellent soups, which are very popular with our guests throughout the year - but especially during this cold snap - and I'm sorry that this was clearly an exception. It's such a shame that you won't be bringing your group here, as we enjoy welcoming, hosting and accommodating walking groups, car clubs, rotary groups etc throughout the year - who all enjoy our hospitality, fantastic location and good food. I assure you that were you to bring a group here that would be the case for them, but I obviosuly appreciate you may not do this now, which is a real shame. Kind regards Seamus

Madam, I wrote to you apologising for your disappointment, and explaining, as best I could, a few of the issues you mentioned. I have had no response to my email, and now find this vindictive review on here. I offered you a complimentary night's stay at the hotel for you to see that the disappointment you experienced is not the norm at The Chainbridge. Your review and score of the hotel differs significantly to the vast majority of reviews and feedback we receive, and I wanted us to have the chance to provide an excellent night's stay, and to give you an enjoyable experience here. That is not cynical in any way - in fact I deem it to be generous. In your email you asked for a small reduction in your food bill - and I have offered you a stay valued at £120! Alas, we won't have the chance to welcome you back, which is your prerogative of course, so I wish you and your husband all the best for the future. Kind regards Seamus

One of our favourite places anyway but in January really lovely to have the river swirling by. Husband’s pie gorgeous and my quiche, salad and sweet potato chips a delightful change. However, it is the service and staff that make it special.

We had a very good time when we spent the 30th and 31st December at the Chainbrige Hotel. Th scenery was fantastic and the hotel was very good. The new year evening dinner and disco was superb. The hotel staff were excellent and our room was excellent with a great view

Hi, From what I can gather they have a disabled car space near their entrance gate, you may have to notify them to keep it clear as it is close to where they unload supplies so may need to be cordoned off prior to arrival and I think with warning they have ramps that can be laid to access the hotel but from memory it was fairly flat anyway. They have canal facing rooms at ground level also but clarify things with hotel before booking.

I'm sure they would cater for your needs..there are rooms on the ground floor....give them a ring... definitely worth a stay at the hotel....

"Go for a river view room with balcony"
"River view rooms are superior to canal ones"
"If travelling with your dog ensure you are aware that the rooms available are not of the same quality of the majority of the hotel."
"Noisy from river when on balcony, but found it serene, and when you close doors you can't hear a thing, so had a fab sleep :-)"
"Rooms overlooking the river, noisy but worth it!"
