Unfortunately, this hotel fell well below the standard you would expect in 2021. I know it’s been a tough time for the hospitality industry but there’s still no excuse not to get the basics right. I’ll try keep this short and summarised. First, the good: 1. The location for what we needed. Now the not so good: 1. Exterior of the building looks like a 1960’s Eastern European block of flats. 2. The rooms are now very outdated. With wear and tear clearly showing 3. The standard double room we had was very small. 4. You have a choice of two light settings in the room: Full or Off. Not good if one of you wants to read or you’re just trying to wind down. Same for the bathroom lights which is a nightmare if you need to use it in the night. 5. Bedside light didn’t work. 5.5. There are no plug sockets next to the bed!? 6. TV is outdated. Limited channels and can’t link your phone to use Netflix etc like many hotels nowadays. 7. Lamp on desk was dusty on top and not even a bin liner for the bin under the desk. 8. Stain on shower curtain. 9. Toilet paper was about 0.5mm thick. 10. Breakfast was £10 extra and was the usual cheap-ingredient fry up you’d get in lower end hotels. Oddly there was no porridge. 11. A coffee cost me in excess of £3. It was only a cortado. 12. You’re given paper cups in the room for tea and coffee! And not even a spoon, just those silly wooden stirrers. 13. Pillow felt like it was filled with cardboard. 14. The cooler/refrigerator in the room didn’t work. Checked the back of it and I wasn’t surprised, it was completed layered in thick dust. For anyone that needs a fridge/minibar be aware it only ‘cools’ to 16 degrees. 15. The manager Dilip… Now the worst part was when I called up to report the cooler wasn’t working. We needed it and it stated the room had on on Trip Adviser. The staff member said they couldn’t do anything about it. So we asked to speak with the manager who transpired to be Dilip. He was initially apologetic but said there was nothing he could do.

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean , a bit tired tired , but functional. Scratched head board and work tops and a chair that was beginning to look grubby. Didn’t stop us using but will need upgrade soon No phone charge points. Simple fix if a socket is refitted. Don’t know any travellers without a phone Paper cups and only one milk each and yet couple of coffee and teas. Doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t like to try snd reuse a paper cup. Slight smell of damp but this seemed to lift. Breakfast ok . The only worry was the croissants which were packed which quite clearly states use on day of purchase, early on a Saturday morning that’s unlikely to be today and they were soggy. Couldn’t find extra cutlery for the yoghurts or for toast and marmalade after using those put out on the table. Tables cleared but crumbs bits of bacon left on floor so although tables wined and crumbs dribbled just left for the next sitting no effort to get dustpan and brush. Something small but could lift the appearance. Noticed a gym on leaving was it available for use no information given at reception or in room a information leaflet on facilities could have been laminated and left in each room and cleaned for Covid rules The hotel was convenient for the lillibrook barn

My husband and I stayed here whilst visiting Windsor and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The room was a good size (though the bed was small) and well air conditioned. Breakfast was great and the space had a fun atmosphere due to all the families around and the super friendly staff.

So we used this hotel as a bases to go to LEGOLAND and explore Windsor and I have to say it was brilliant. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and engaged my little 4 year old in feeling welcome. From the staff at breakfast to the gentleman that checked us in nothing was to much trouble. The food was good and the leisure facilities we perfect for a swim after a long day walking the sights. I always believe service from staff can make a huge difference and the staff there really do make you feel at ease.

Planning a trip away with the kids? Come here - it's cheap, friendly and swarming with kids. Planning a romantic weekend away? Don't come here - it's a pile of concrete by the motorway and swarming with kids. We came here with our kids for a nearby wedding. Expectations were low, mainly due to some of these reviews and the very reasonable price we'd paid for bed and breakfast for 4 people. All I can say is that the hotel exceeded expectations. Our room was fine and big enough for us all, breakfast very filling and the staff really friendly. Best of all the kids loved the swimming pool, which we did have to book but didn't have any problem getting slots. The hotel was child friendly and full of kids (mainly going to nearby Legoland) which meant we could relax a bit - nothing worse that boisterous children in a quiet hotel full of things to break. Top marks, thanks!
