Great location on the quayside, short walk to bars and restaurants. All rooms have a view if the Tyne river. Lovely reception area. Slow check in and check out. Hotel has own payable parking. Rooms large but dated decor and furniture though it was very clean! Good times for breakfast and a good choice - full English, cereal, fruit, toast, juices, tea/coffee but disappointed there was no milk alternatives (I asked) as I’m dairy intolerant. AVOID the cooked breakfast - the worst I’ve ever had - bacon and sausage over cooked, baked beans dry, hash browns and black pudding tasted like rubber and as if they’d been reheated several times! I would definitely stay here again but I’d pop to Wetherspoons (two min walk) for my breakfast!

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here with my Mam for one night as part of a deal. We were warmly welcomed by Chanelle and delighted to receive two complimentary drinks vouchers. Chanelle was so helpful and friendly and told us everything we needed to know. We were thrilled when we saw our room (415) as it had the most incredible view of the Tyne with floor to ceiling windows. It was a lovely room and very clean. The beds were really comfy. We had drinks in the bar in the evening and had a smashing time. We loved it so much we have already booked to come back in the summer! Thank you to all at the Copthorne.

From check in to check out the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large and clean with a nice view overlooking the river Tyne, the bar was reasonably priced and the morning breakfast was very nice with a good choice. It is only a short walk to the local nightlife

Lovely overnight stay at the Copthorne Hotel which almost didn't happen due to a mixup with our Groupon booking. Huge thanks to Amy "Giggles" for sorting it so quickly and efficiently.  Giggles is a nickname and well deserved, lovely happy lass, perfect receptionist. Our Club room was delightful and spotless with fabulous river views, especially at night. Would have been 5 stars but the breakfast was only adequate, watery juice, tasteless scrambled eggs.
