The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, bugs on towels and bed sheets, stains on the sheets also no soap or hand towels, a horrendous smell through out the whole hotel, was meant to stay for 2 nights left after one horrendous night, would not even let animals stay there!!!!!!!! Don't know how they call this a hotel

Had a booking here for 2 months only to find out last week it had been cancelled as they were having those particular rooms refurbished. This I only found out when I called to check on my booking. They have answered the phone probably 10% of the time and each time I have asked to sort out my booking and ensure my stay is confirmed "I'm sorry but I cant help you, you need to speak to the manager". The manager I've been promised working the next day for the last 5 days only to find out he's now off for the next 4 days. SURELY someone else has the authority to sort out a booking. Terrible service and the most frustrating experience I've ever had with a hotel anywhere!

Stayed here with family overnight. On the outside the hotel looks good. Inside it's a different story, decor is dated with little or no thought given to presentation. There is also no breakfast provided. The place is overrun with students (some of whom were very noisy well into the night) and the WC next to reception is only to be used as a last resort. The folk on reception insisted on getting photo ID from everyone in our party when we checked in. On top of that, I got bitten by a bed bug! Needless to say we didn't hang about in the morning and got out as quickly as we could. Definitely one of the weirdest hotels I've ever stayed in. Don't be fooled by the nice-looking photos like we were - you'll be in for a shock.

First off this hotel from the outside doesn't look bad at all, soon as you go inside it's all downhill the rooms are stuck in the past, in the room that we stayed in the carpet was stained all over the bed had a stain I'm sure it's either blood or wine!! The electrics I'm sure it would never pass any safety test at all, this hotel has so much potential to be great new carpets lick of paint new side tables, TV on the wall, Im sure if they refurb a room one by one this hotel would be amazing.

Stayed in Newcastle overnight before setting off on our roadtrip. Paid £31 for a twin room for one night. We turned up to be told by an older gentleman the hotel had shut down and booking.com haven’t updated their website. We then went to the Grainger Hotel down Westgate (not Benwell lane) and it was rectified. The area the hotel is in ROUGH. Not very pleasant. Town is about a half hour walk down a very long hill!!! Room was okay, nothing to rave about. The men at reception were polite, customer service was okay. The decor is very drab and needs doing. The hotel served the purpose of a quick overnight stay but wouldn’t recommend if you want to stay anywhere for a nice experience! If you need a bed and a shower, this place does the job.
