A overnight stay as visiting family. Room was nice. However, this was the second time in two months that there was a function on and as such no bar or restaurant facilities. Why they can't let guests know in advance is beyond me. However, worse was to come, around midnight the guests were leaving and the noise was atrocious, people shouting with no care to paying residents, I didn't hear any of the staff trying to quieten things, indeed some were shouting goodbyes to those leaving. The noise went on for about 45 minutes. All in all a very unsatisfactory stay.

Friendly and helpful staff - good ! A rather tired establishment. Minor repairs need to be undertaken - e.g. the door into my room needed a very hard push or pull to open and close it. My granny would have difficulty getting in and out. The light above the bathroom sink did not work. As indicated in the title, beware very noisy functions up to midnight - this matter ruined my stay. Why doesn't the management think about problems like this?!

It’s a lovely location for something like a wedding but as a normal guest awful. Every time there is a function the restaurant is closed so nothing available for guests. Functions are supposed to be over by midnight. That’s why I’m writing this at 1am due to the noise! No consideration to others. We are paying guests too. This place has gone so downhill. Seems like money is the only thing they care about - functions are worth so much more than guests . It used to be such a lovely break

I got a call out of the blue from the Priory Hotel, who were calling their previous guests to offer them a 2 night VIP gift voucher. I got 2 nights in a superior room, with breakfast on both mornings and to top it off had a 5 course meal and a wine flight thrown in as well! we had 5 glasses of wine each and got to keep the rest of the bottle of our favourite choice. The VIP voucher was only £175 and you could stay at anytime in 2 years, Great value and a Frank and his team really went the extra mile to make our stay a great one.... I have since called them and purchased a 2nd voucher for 2022.
