Having researched where to stay in Ludlow for some time we eventually chose Whitfield House.
On arrival we were greeted by the owner who was more than friendly showing us to our room and giving us a local guide with map. We stayed on our first night in the Lawrence room, this was bright and airy with stunning views across to Ludlow Castle and the church, there was a lobby area, a separate loo and bathroom as well as our generously sized bedroom.
A fridge with fresh milk can be found on the main landing for guests to use.
It was an easy 10 minute walk into Ludlow itself. On the evening we met Sarah (owner) who was also very informative of where to eat and the area.
Breakfast the next morning was in the main dining room, a lovely wood panelled room overlooking the gardens. Sheila came along to take our orders and nothing was too much trouble, she was delightful.
For the second night of our stay we had to move rooms as on booking there were no rooms available for two consecutive nights. This time was the Mortimer room, again a super size room, same views and a lovely appointed bathroom.
The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and the breakfast is hearty with good choices of cereals, fruit and cooked options. The owners are pleasant and informative and Sheila is a star.
What more could ask for, thank you for a lovely stay.

Just a brief overnight stop. Friendly welcome & perfect breakfast. Great room (Lawrence) but really a suite - hall, bedroom, bathroom with bath & shower and a separate wc. The views towards the town/castle and over the gardens and fields full of sheep & cattle are terrific. Highly recommended.

We received a warm welcome to this beautiful property and nothing was too much trouble. The room and en-suite facilities were superb, very tasteful with lots of space and more than enough room for clothes etc. The view from our room was second to none...Ludlow Castle in the distance and rolling countryside.....beautifully quiet. Breakfast was excellent served in a beautiful panelled room. We would recommend Whitfield House to everyone.

We stopped here for 1 night we were not sure where to stay but think we made the right choice, it was more like a suite than a room lovely and clean and great views of the castle and country side, the owners are very friendly and welcoming and they supplied a wonderful breakfast, after checking out they let us leave our car there while we walk in to ludlow town centre about 10 min stroll away, Great Stay.

We stayed here for one night 4th September in a Deluxe Double room with Castle view on our 10 day driving holiday. The property is like a large manor home, is very modern, our room was huge, clean, bright and we would highly recommend this place. Our host, Andrew introduced himself and was very friendly and informative. The property is a short walk (15 mins) into the town centre where there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants.

We went on a three day birthday break and this lovely B and B was perfect. Large beautifully decorated room, friendly welcome from the owner, excellent, cooked to order, breakfast and all within a short walk to the pretty town, yet set in picturesque countryside. Faultless, thank you.
