Convenient for town attractions and restaurants. Stylish decor and surroundings throughout. Nice staff on reception and at breakfast time. Good quality breakfast. Great bed. Air con was effective in the heatwave. Nice free treats in the room and the fridge came in handy for keeping them cool. Good bathroom with super duper shower. Couldn't really fault any particular aspect at all (bit of noise from the street though but that's what happens when you stay in a town!). Would stay again which is always a good sign.
Really great hotel. Good shower, big TV, comfortable bed, helpful and friendly staff, good location, air con, nice toiletries in the bathroom, so many great things to report. I didn’t give 5/5 as the avocado on toast (from the breakfast menu) was really unpleasant. They are serving up store-bought guacamole as smashed avocado. If it isn’t store-bought, it certainly tastes like it. On the second day I had the full Yorkshire breakfast - which was faultless. I wish I could give 4.9! Overall - we would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to others.
We visited here yesterday after being let down by The Royal York hotel which we had planned for well over a year for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had planned on returning to the same hotel we had honeymooned in and had been excited for so long. After arriving at that hotel we had been really let down by them (long story!) so planned to rebook somewhere else. We are so glad we did! We found Hotel Indigo online and it looked perfect. From the moment we stepped inside we loved it. The smell in there was absolutely beautiful and the girl behind the desk was amazing (we are gutted we didn’t get her name!). We told her what had happened with the other hotel and she went above and beyond to make our stay really special. We were so touched when we entered our room to Prosecco and strawberries and sweets and a congratulations message! This hotel was so more ‘us’! The hotel was spotless, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, the beds are so comfy. The bar itself downstairs was really reasonable too (whoop!). A couple of mins walk from the shambles too, and a lovely walk it is! Just perfect. What seemed to be starting out as a disaster ended up just perfect and that’s down to amazing staff and the hotel’s perfect quirkiness. You made our 10 year anniversary so special ❤️ We will definitely be back. X…
What can I say, a beautifully decorated stylish hotel in the centre of York, from the moment you enter the lobby you’re greeted by warm receptive staff and beautiful scents wafting through the air conditioning units. The rooms are tastefully decorated with quirky pictures that adorn the walls, warm pastel colours and a real vintage feel. The shower was stunning and powerful and overall the room was immaculately presented and cozy. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
Short walk to York centre with car parking a couple of minutes away on foot. Very friendly and helpful staff both on reception and at breakfast. Breakfast was busy but lots of lovely choices with the croissants and cakes but also cheese and interesting omelettes, eggs Benedict and fry ups, all cooked to order - no reconstituted scrambled eggs or baked beans drying out under hot lamps! The rooms had lovely modern bathrooms, a comfortable bed, tv, safe and kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Enjoyed having a fridge with old drinks and water. Definitely would return here.
This was my second stay at hotel Indigo. The room and hotel was amazing. The beds are enormous and so comfortable. Nice touch with the complimentary snacks and drinks in the room too. This would have been a 5 for me however the only thing that stopped me was the hot breakfast which unless you were getting the full English was not value for money at all and sub standard in comparison to the rest of the hotel. I felt it was much better when they served it buffet style as you could choose what you wanted. The continental choice however was lovely. Would definitely go again but would have breakfast in one of the lovely cafes in the area.
Really nice hotel in great location with great staff who understand customer service I cannot fault this hotel the rooms are of a very high standard with air conditioning, comfortable beds and good modern showers this is definitely our go to place when visiting York.
Stayed at the Indigo in York last night for work purposes. Was so glad I'd got booked into this place, as its a big cut above most places I stay in for work. I didnt know that till I got there. The rooms were really nice. Unbelievably comfy bed and nice decor in the room too. The food was excellent, for both our evening meal (rustic pizza) and breakfast... again, a step up from the 'usual'. The staff were great, really friendly and informative of the local area. I didn't get all of their names, though we did spend a bit of time chatting to Jojo, who was particularly attentive and helpful and seemed to be absolutely everywhere; though every single one of the team were brilliant too. Will definitely seek to book the Indigo again next time that I'm in York, for business or for pleasure. …
Just returned from a night in York staying at Hotel Indigo. Lovely hotel. Beautiful comfy room's. But the outstanding feature of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to.Claire from reception who rescued us yesterday. Having found ourselves struggling to find our way back to the hotel due to problems with phone signals. Claire actually came and found us and showed us the way backl. I would say this is definitely going well above what is expected and all done with a cheery smile Thanks Claire. Mandy and Tracey
I've stayed in many hotels over the years, and this is a great find. Feels small and cosy, yet has 103 rooms. Staff friendly on check in. Room was great (Premium room), quiet, well equipped (Hooray sockets aplenty!) and clean. The rainfall shower was powerful and hot. Air con worked, and was not noisy. We found nothing to dislike. Parking is a 3 min walk away, at a cost of £14 a night...all fine, but was busy and first come first served. Breakfast freshly prepared and good choice for Gluten free diets. Overall a super hotel in a great location to walk into the city (4mins).
