Our 2nd visit to Minster hotel. Very friendly helpful staff. Rooms spotlessly clean and a breakfast fit for a king The black pudding was best I’ve had. Beds lovely and comfortable, powerful shower with plenty of water pressure. Will return next time I’m in York. Had the benefit of parking.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was in a building towards the back facing the car park. Very quiet. Super clean, very comfy beds. 10 minute walk to the Minster & center of York. Tip is the there is a nice walk around the city walls ( avoids traffic) from the Museum of Art to York center. Good variety of cooked & uncooked breakfast options. Say” good mahnin’ “ to Stuart -one of the friendliest waiters and hotel staff people in the UK.. Had dinner just a short 5 minute walk - left on Gilleygate-at Bistro #8. Would definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic hotel. Situated about 5 minutes walk from York minster and not far from other attractions. On arrival could not have been treated any better and service was great. Room was excellent, clean and tidy. Plenty of choice for breakfast and staff could not have been more helpful. Great stay, would definitely go back.

I have now stayed at the Minster on three occasions. Each time in the hotel annexe. The rooms have always been clean, comfortable and well appointed. If booking direct with hotel there is free secure parking which is excellent. The breakfast is excellent with a self service cold buffet and fresh hot breakfast cooked to order. The staff are very helpful and the hotel is a ten minute walk to the Minster so very handy for the City.

We usually return to York and this hotel every year (being far from local!) but the pandemic had delayed our most recent visit. We are glad say that it is still the same lovely, welcoming place. The staff are absolutely outstanding and we were so pleased to see some familiar faces. There were some changes post-pandemic but they were clearly explained and caused us no problems at all. Breakfasts are outstanding and we were so pleased to see the buffet in full operation. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant for evening meals but that is not a problem as there are a whole variety of eateries in close walking distance. There is a car park for residents which is a huge plus point in York. The location is perfect. The top of the Minster is visible from outside the door and it is virtually on the doorstep of Bootham Bar (one of the entrances to the walls), the sight seeing buses, the Yorkshire Museum and more. If you are planning on touring outside the city, the hotel is on the A19 which is perfect for travelling further afield. We LOVE this place and are looking forward to visiting again.

Amazing hotel. Booked a small double. Great room, clean, spacious with toiletries available. Staff friendly. Quick and easy check in. Breakfast! Wow! Everything you could wish for!! Cereal, yoghurt, cold meat, fruit, cheese, pastries, toast, jams, fruit juice plus any cooked items done fresh to order. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. Short walk into town less than 5 minutes to walls and shops, less then 10 mins into the centre. Would definitely recommend 👌

Stayed at the Minster Hotel with my Fiancee for 4 nights (Monday to Friday). Was greeted by the manager, Tony, who was very friendly and always happy to help throughout our stay. The hotel is a traditional old style hotel, very cosy feel too. The hotel has a private carpark which was one reason for choosing this hotel; was able to park and leave it for the week. The room was lovely with a high ceiling and the bathroom was modern with bath and shower in one. We were in room 3 which faced the front and street which was busy but did not bother us much during the night. The room was not serviced during our stay but we were given a plastic bag containing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits and toilet roll every day; I presume this was due to COVID measures still. Only issue we had was the TV took 10 attempts to turn on from Standby; I mentioned this when checking out. Breakfast was great and the staff were always welcoming and friendly every morning. The hotel is in a great location with all the York attractions within 5-20 minute walk. Overall, the hotel was great and would definitely recommend and stay again if back in York. Thank you Tony and the staff for your hard work.

Just had another great couple of days at the Minster hotel. The main quality of this hotel is all the staff they are a credit to the hotel from the brilliant receptionist to Tony the manager, always a friendly smile makes you feel really welcome ,the situation of the hotel is perfect 3 minute walk to the Minster The car park is ideal, park up and forget your car till your going home ,Dont expect a brand new sparkly hotel as most of York hotels they are a little dated as you would expect but the Minster is kept perfectly clean and the breakfast is fantastic ,stayed here probably 5 times in the last 12 months and every visit as been brilliant, highly reccomend
