Overall great hotel a short walk from the historic centre, and great views of the river and the Minister, good quality rooms and excellent, friendly staff. Very good value for money considering the location.
We chose this hotel because of its location mainly. It did not disappoint. It was an easy walk from the railway station and just over the bridge into York itself. The river setting was just lovely. River view room which was spotlessly clean and a comfortable good nights sleep. Riverside walks of an evening were so lovely too. Very friendly staff with good customer service. We were made to feel very welcome there. We didn’t do breakfast as it was £20 each. No problem as there were lots of cafes to eat at, some of which were riverside. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend as a perfect place to stay in York.
I checked in with a single bed and they upgraded to a double bed which overlooked the water. The guy who checked me in was very professional and polite. The building was very close to the station. Very good service and value for money. Will definitely come back.
This is a nice hotel with friendly staff at a competitive price. On checking in (2 rooms) we were told as Radisson members we were to be upgraded to a Superior Room on the top floor (8th) this is because they were busy and only had a limited number of standard rooms so we as members would be upgraded. Nice room but nothing special with relatively small bathroom. Great views of the town and river. BUT … the noise from the services above was extremely annoying especially at night when trying to sleep, when we met our friends in the morning who had the adjoining room they said exactly the same. I made my comments when checking out and the staff were surprised and unaware of such a problem. Only now when I look on other review sites other people have made the same remarks. To be fair the £15 overnight garage charge was waived but I really don’t think this is a true upgrade or a superior room I suggest you avoid the 8th floor,…
This was a gathering of (effectively) eight people: four branches of the Family, of which I am the eldest, with children and grandchildren. We decided to stay at the Park Hotel because it was in a central location and we preferred somewhere with facilities on-site. The others preferred AirB&B or Apartments which they found nearby. We could all gather in the Hotel Bar at the end of the day.
