A rather dated Premier Inn, not up to their usual standard. Not a bad hotel but if you stay regularly in Premier Inns as we tend to do then this will probably disappoint. We were asked if we wanted to book a table for breakfast but we weren’t certain what time we’d be up. The receptionist didn’t tell us that the hotel was particularly busy or that we needed to book a time. The next morning the queue for breakfast was around 10 families long. We waited in the queue for 10 minutes, when we got to the front we said we’d paid but hadn’t booked a time. We were then told it would be a half hour wait. We had to leave so couldn’t do that and had to go to the Wetherspoons over the road and spend more money on breakfast. If they’d told us while we were queueing it would have saved us waiting. The queue was longer by the time we left. I filled in the premier inn feedback form, expecting a reply. 6 weeks later and nothing. Poor customer service.…
We know that a Premier Inn will give us a comfortable bed, a clean room and curtains that block light when we sleep, all at a reasonable price. Fed up of booking other hotels and finding that the bed is too soft for a good night's sleep, or that the light from the windows disturbs our sleep. The only small issue was that the windows did not completely block out noise from outside, but it was manageable. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within easy reach of York's attractions, and very close to a good cinema for evening entertainment.
We recently spent 5 days in York and enjoyed our time. The Premier in Blossom Street South was an ideal location. Its within walking distance from the train and the facilities are good with very comfy beds. The restaurant was very nice and we ate there several times for breakfast and evening meals. There is also a cinema next door which very handy. I was surprised, however, that the tea in the room was pg tips and not Yorkshire tea! Hopefully by the time we visit again there will be a choice. Lastly, I'd like to say a big thank you to the team for the box of chocolates and birthday card, what a lovely surprise, I felt very special. Well done guys
The hotel is well placed for station and central location for site seeing. Price was reasonable priced in June. Room was clean and average sized. Staff were friendly and pleasant throughout stay. Cooked breakfast was " eat as much as you want" so great for hungry holiday maket and sets you up for day.
We have just returned from an overnight stay at Blossom Street South, which is located about near to York train station. We found our twin bedded room very spacious , the beds were really comfortable and very clean. The staff couldn't be more helpful, we were able to store luggage on arrival until our rooms were ready so we could go off and enjoy our day. A special shout out to the restaurant manager at breakfast, I think her name was Colette. Whilst under enormous pressure she was a little ray of sunshine, always smiling and so upbeat with everyone, this girl is a credit to Premier Inn definitely one you need to hang on to! Thank you everyone, great time, mam has talked of nothing else since ,😀
On a recent visit to York we stayed at the Premier Inn blossom St South. Whilst the hotel in general was good clean and good service the room was poor in need of refurbishment and over priced. Bed was lumpy and well past its best the room was dingy poorly lite. Not the quality or value for money I've come to expect from Premier Inns
The staff are mean and unhelpful, especially on reception and the lady in charge of the restaurant (no trays are allowed and she forcibly took one from us that a nice person from the kitchen had give us!) Also the location is rubbish - don’t stay here. There are many many better places to stay in York.
Excellent reception staff who very pleased to help.Very convenient for railway station if arriving by train.Easy to walk into city but not right in the thick of it so therefor it was quiet at night for a good night's sleep.
We checked in late and were given room 104. Straight away this was a problem due to the noise from people and the traffic outside. We asked to be moved rooms however were told there were no other rooms available, obviously we were give the worst room as we were last to check in. The noise was a joke and the staff could not care less, thanks for an unforgettable stay.
We have stayed at this Premier Inn several times and every time we have had a first class stay. It’s exactly as you would expect from the Premier Inn group. Clean room, good restaurant and friendly helpful professional staff. Definitely recommended.
