Free parking, was allowed to leave the car until 5pm on the car park after we signed out at 12pm. would definitely recommend, will be staying again when we visit york. Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble

Great place to stay above a costa for me is a bonus - a short walk gets you into the centre of York Nice for family’s very quiet within the hotel at night ( though ours was a few days in the week stay)

Room had been refurbished, so modern furniture and a new, very comfortable, mattress. Bathroom clean. Stayed in a terrible Travelodge in Birmingham the following week, making me realise how good the York Layerthorpe Travelodge was. Breakfast from Costa next door was good value.

Upon arrival to our room it initially looked OK. When we went over to the bed we noticed it looked stained and pulling back the cover found that it had a dirty duvet cover and pillows. This was reported to reception who said it would be changed when we went out for the evening. When we returned later the duvet cover had Been tossed on the bed and no effort had been made to make it. The cover looked like a rag that didn't close and had rips on the seems. The pillow had just been turned over to hide the stains. Due to this we looked a little closer and the bed head was full of dust/hairs. We ended up sleeping in our clothes on top of the covers as we had been drinking and couldn't drive home. In the morning we decided to have a shower before leaving as we felt dirty only to find blood stains on the shower curtain. We didn't bother and just left. A big thank-you for spoiling my partners birthday!!

Clean room comfortable bed in a good position for access to city free parking onsite bar and cafe. Staff friendly and always helpful. All you need for a weekend stay in York. Some noise from outside only what you would expect near a main road.
