We had booked a family room for two nights, visiting family but when we arrived with our grandson on crutches with a leg brace were given a large disabled room with sit down shower and two single beds. This turned out to be great for showering as our grandson could not load bear on one leg. We normally go elsewhere for breakfast but our room was very close to the breakfast area and it was raining heavily so had breakfast buffet, free for children under 15. Decent choice, bacon not really warm and when we asked for warmed croissant they came back on a red hot plate, rock hard and inedible! Otherwise OK, plenty of hot drinks, juices, fruit and yoghurt, cereals, hot choices, toast and croissants. Friendly staff.

We stayed for 3 nights on a special offer which made for excelption value £80 for 3 nights. We were primarilly staying to visit City of London and the rail station was barely 50 yards away with very cheap off-peak fares paying contactless. Parking was limited but we were able to use the last space. There is a reasonable sized Coop under the hotel and a large Waitrose just across the road. Numerous very acceptable restaurants within a few hundred yards. Directions on the website from the A3 are excellent. Although we were on the top floor (as requested) overlooking the car-park which is quieter there was some limited noise inside the hotel with people walking along the corridor.

Good budget hotel for overnight stay during Wimbledon matches
Anna and Carmen always served with a smile and very helpful with local knowledge.
Good parking facilities.
Friendly receptionist,
Bathrooms very clean
Rooms tidy
Very near ,less than 2 minutes to train station
But due to location( next to train station) can be noisy early morning. ( appreciate, they warn about the noise before booking) surrounding area is very decent and if no parking inside hotel premises, can park outside safely and its free weekends.

I suppose I knew what I was getting into booking a ‘Travelodge’ hotel and whilst there is no question it was excellent value for money it did leave me feeling a little ‘grubby’ let’s start with the pros.. for less than £116.00 I got a hotel close to London (near Kingston upon Thames) close to transport links (station very nearby) double room, parking, breakfast and WiFi which over a holiday season (Christmas) is pretty impressive to say the least … there’s a BUT coming .. I’ve always been happy to pay over and above the norm for a comfortable hotel and a big believer in ‘you get what you pay for’ and fully expected to be underwhelmed with the standard and facilities as on this occasion we were spending Christmas Eve and day close family who lived 10 mins up the road. My thought process was that we would literally be using the bed / shower for two nights as the majority of our time away from the room however for those who don’t often stay at the ‘budget’ hotel chain, and let’s be honest here it doesn’t get more ‘budget’ than Travelodge here are some things you need to be aware of.. The room size is very small and my wife and I had many occasions where we had to move out of the way to allow the other to get ‘by / past’ which isn’t awful. The bed is small even for a double and not very comfortable. If you did happen to bring a cat with you to swing inside the bathroom (I’m joking here BTW) think again it’s very small. You need to be either extremely flexible or some form of professional contortionist to use the WC (seated) the it’s all pre finish plastic surfaces, cheap shower curtain and public WC style hand wash pump dispensers. The carpets are disgusting, they are worn, marked and grubby looking. The ceiling to the corridor had ceiling tiles missing with wires hanging down and it’s smelt like an old peoples home (and not in a good way)
I’m sat writing this review feeling extremely tired after 2 poor nights sleep and whilst I’m happy my wallet sustained relatively little damage I think I would think again next time. From now on if I’m on a ‘budget’ I’ll draw the line at a Premier Inn and before anyone comments that they to have public toilet style soap dispensers I know but at least they work! I had the indignity of starting a shower only to find my dispenser out of order before having to then step out of the shower and locate the hotel’s reception tel number and then wait with a damp towel round me while someone came to repair it
It broke again and was faced with using a industrial sized bottle of what I’ll describe as weak detergent to wash myself. I had done my research on this place and the reviews were fairly good? All I can say is that god only knows what on earth the other reviewers think is acceptable ? Would I stay here again? … in a word NO

Firstly I cannot fault the reception staff we met two different women and both could not be any more helpful or friendly..!!
First impressions were great nice clean reception and lovely staff..!!

Received the key went to the second floor, firstly the hall door was broken so anyone could get on to the second floor this wasn't a issue just said it is what it is no biggy. Walked in to the hallway and my god the carpet was filthy, blood stains out side of rooms (Not red wine), mud all the way up the hallway, carpet was black with the dirt, and just really worn down to the treads, walls that had obviously been repaired from damage but still marked all over always the way up the hallway and not repainted. This was also no biggy not as if we would be sleeping in the hallway. Got to the room opened the door and the smell just hit us, mixture between feet and really overpowering air freshener (At least they tried). The carpet was worse in the room then in the hallway, Red wine stains on the carpet (Well I at least I hope, they weren't the same deep red as the hallway), mud stains at the side of the bed, carpet black with dirt and white stains on the side of the bed. The TV remote was disgusting didn’t dare touch it, some light fittings did not work in the room or the bathroom, the shower water pressure was terrible, shower head holder kept falling down, and the soap dispenser in the shower did not work and then fell off the wall the second day. We had to keep our shoes by the bed to use every time we got out of the bed to go to the bathroom as we didn't dare touch that carpet. The smell was there even when the window would be opened as it was coming from the carpets.

This hotel also boasted a cafe & Bar, we literally walked in and walked back out this was like a work canteen so didn't bother eating or drinking there. Judging by the room we also didn’t want to chance it, but went for a look anyway.

Full disclosure we did not complain at the hotel. We thought what is the point, hallway and bedroom were the same condition so every other room would be. This also wasn't cheap to stay in on a Friday and Saturday night so pricing really didn't match the room rate. I would tell anyone in there right mind to steer clear of this place, we only selected this hotel due to it having parking and also the "Bar & Cafe" it mentioned.

I had to spend 10 days in London, I needed to be close to Parkside Hospital (10min drive from the hotel). The hotel is a basic Travelodge however the staff were more helpful and professional than at many 4/5 star hotels. Hotel is very clean and close to a number of shops (Co-op in the same building, Waitrose across the street), short drive away (5min) from the centre of Wimbledon where a large number of shops & takeaways can be found. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

The best way I can describe this hotel is as grubby. I was “greeted” by the receptionist who clearly hates her job. A smile wouldn’t be too much to ask for. As I had arrived early, I had asked could we leave our luggage but was told “due to COVID” they couldn’t. Although no restrictions were implemented other than a screen between us and witnessed everyone I came into contact with without a mask. Eventually checked in to my room, which I would recommend bringing flip flops or slippers with you to avoid touching the carpets in your room, which obviously haven’t ever been washed. Orange stains on the bed sheets and both the headboard and wall had “splash” marks all over and not wiped in, really “clean”. Bathroom itself was tiny, with the shower being even tinier. Shower curtain failed to do its job. Teaspoons in the room looked like they had been used to eat yogurt and just left there. Upon leaving my room at one stage, I spotted a new red stain outside the room beside mine which hadn’t been there previously. Hallway carpets throughout the building were absolutely disgusting and marks all over the walls too. The best part of this hotel was when I was leaving. Pictures on the site of the rooms are definitely not what you’ll get. Only stay here if it’s a last resort. Worth the money? No.

Pros:
Excellent value for a London-area hotel
Very close to Raynes Park train station
Staff is available 24 hours
Staff is helpful and friendly
Room was fairly clean: sheets and bathroom were clean.

Cons:
Can be noisy at night: even though we were on the west side away from the street, there was a lot of activity and talking behind the businesses near the parking lot.
No air conditioning. The room got quite warm in August with the window closed, but if we opened it, it was noisy. This made it hard to sleep.
Rooms are fairly small, though typical for this price range.
Paid wifi could be quite slow at times.

The cost for one night on 16th July 2022 was £151.50. Nothing like the prices shown on website. The were all much more reasonable. The carpet was absolutely filthy. Looked like the men working outside had been in the room with their filthy boots on and cleaned them on the carpet . Could not put my bare feet on the carpet. Can't stress too much how filthy the carpet was and no doubt still is. The bed was definitely NOT king size - it was a double. They advised on arrival that we had not ordered or paid for breakfast when we booked and that was not true but they would not listen and there didn't seem any point in arguing - they just wear you down and the customer is obviously not right. No wifi. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone and will NEVER stay in a Travelodge ever again.

Typical basic Travelodge hotel. Thin walls, basic and the smallest baths in the world. You get what you pay for. Extra problems with this one. Corridor outside of room stunk of cigarette smoke. Tried contacting reception and the number left there but couldn’t get a reply so no one manning reception on a Saturday evening!
.
WiFi at £3 for 24 hours sounds good but I’m looking at a 5 hour download on an update on a brand new iPhone.

I thought there was and checked on street view on Google map to confirm. There is a covered area where you can chain your bike. But it is in full view from the street. I doubt if you can take the bike up to the room. Have a look on Google map, on Amity Grove, and decide if it looks secure enough for you..
