I can't fault this Premier Inn and would definitely stay there again. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the hotel is in a very quiet street but very close to Aldgate East tube station so easy to get around London. Easy to walk to a lot of sights too such as the Tower and Sky Garden. Good value and perfect place to stay.

This was my second visit to this hotel and the second stay was just as fantastic as the first stay. As I said in my initial review, this hotel is a hidden gem, close to visitor attractions with easy access to the tube network to travel a little further afield, the staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, very comfortable (especially after a very long tiring day exploring London) and there was very little noise to disturb people.

Will definitely return again!

We booked two rooms for two nights and were really impressed. This was our first stay in a Premier Inn for a few years and my expectations were not particularly high knowing that the chain maintain the rooms and facilities to an acceptable standard in keeping with the price point. Well I was pleasantly surprised as my request for an early check-in was granted by the welcoming receptionist and the rooms on the 6th floor were well appointed with nice views. The bathrooms were functionable, the complimentary toiletries ok, towels were soft and it had a better than average hairdryer. The tea and coffee was ok, although not replenished after the first night, but freely available to take extras from reception. The restaurant/bar adjoins the hotel and we popped in for a drink before leaving for a concert. The service was good with a decent selection of draft beers and spirits. We only had the buffet breakfast on the morning of departure but it was of a very good standard with a great choice of hot and cold options. For £10 you really should book the breakfast and even though the restaurant was very busy it wasn't difficult to help ourselves to what was on offer and everything was kept topped up. There is no parking on the hotel grounds and we had prebooked a space via a parking app just a 5 minute walk away but drive in car parks are nearby and the nearest Tube Station not far. The location is perfect to stroll 10 minutes up the road to Spittlefields and beyond to Shoreditch with a few pubs, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. For £100 per night, per room it really is a bargain and ill certainly welcome staying here again should we find ourselves on this side of the city.

We stayed here for a weekend as we had tickets to see the Lion King in the West End.

Check in was great, and the lady on reception was fab, very helpful. We'd booked a business room, so were on the top floor, room 620. It had a funny, damp, smoky smell but the room was nice enough. We ventured out, but found Aldgate East station closed most of the weekend, so had to use Aldgate station which took ages to get to anywhere; not just central London either, but to get to places like Farringdon, and Royal Oak.

On the Friday night, we'd put the Do Not Disturb sign on, and removed it at 10am on the Saturday morning as we were meeting mates in Farringdon and were out most of the day. We returned at around 3:45pm, the cleaner was in the room next door to ours. We needed clean towels to get ready to go to central for the show, so I popped my head around and asked the cleaner for towels, and told her we'd be out in 45 minutes and she could clean our room then.

When we returned later that night our room had not been cleaned. I tried to call reception but there was no phone in the room, but you have to email, which I did. I didn't get a reply til after checkout advising the cleaner had said the Do Not Disturb sign was on all day (it wasn't) and that's why she didn't clean it. Need less to say we won't be staying here again... the email I sent is below:

Good morning,

The sign was removed from our door when we left at 10am, so I’m not sure where your getting that information from.

We returned around 1545, the cleaner was cleaning the room next door. I asked her for some clean towels and told her we’d be out in 45 minutes and she could then clean ours.

At no point did she say it wouldn’t be cleaned.

Very disappointed in our stay with you, and your reply, and the misspelling of my name too.

Stayed here for 4 nights, from New Years Day. 2 Adults 3 Kids. When arrived on NYD one of our two rooms wasn’t ready, despite it being after 3pm, given it was NYD and apparently a lot of people had overslept the night before the staff on front desk were very apologetic and I didn’t worry too much! We had been advised our rooms would be together, unfortunately this was not the case! But when I asked about it they were able to change to the room next door without any problem.

Hotel was comfortable, premier inns more or less the same. Despite being in London this is quite a quiet location and not too much road noise other than odd siren wailing past (we were external rooms, internal ones prob real quiet).

We ate breakfast here all 4 mornings and had dinner on two nights in hotel. Have to say it’s been the best meals at a premier inn I’ve had and breakfast probably too! The selection at breakfast and constant bringing out fresh food was excellent. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

The location of hotel was great, only few minutes walk from Aldgate East tube station or about 5 minutes from Aldgate (Liverpool St probably about 15 minute walk)?! It took us (with 3 kids) about 15 minutes to walk down to Tower Bridge/ Tower of London. So really can’t complain!

Would definitely recommend and if we ever get opportunity to go back to London I’d be very happy to stay here again!!

We stayed for 2 nights and found the experience to be incredibly poor. As someone with Asthma I was shocked to find that the windows in this hotel are sealed shut (I was advised this was for my own safety but the building opposite had a balcony at the same level).

The check-in experience was the worst I've been in at a Premier Inn. The man I spoke to barely said anything and failed to advise that the doors are locked from 23:00 and that you need to use your key to gain entry.

The room itself was very nice and inviting (hence the additional star) and the TV was excellent however the lack of phone and lack of details in the room was poor (e.g. documentation says if you test positive for covid then call reception but no number for reception is provided).

Wireless was very intermittent and when I asked for a fan (as I like a breeze to feel comfortable) I was told maintenance had gone home and try again in the morning. The person then left without telling anyone about my request and when I checked in the morning the staff asked numerous questions as to why I felt I needed a fan.

Housekeeping is now done on request (to limit contact) I requested this during the morning and when I returned to the Hotel none of my room had been serviced. I raised this the next morning and was advised that they had left a note.

Alongside all of this, I struggled to sleep throughout the night and my friend advised the AC kept making a dripping sound throughout the night leading to her fitbit actually recording her waking up several times throughout the night.

I raised my concerns with the manager who politely provided me with a card to contact guest relations. Safe to say, it's best not to book this hotel unless you need to. Consider the Tower Hill Premier Inn which looked much nicer or consider a different chain as this hotel desperately lacks customer service and at no point during my stay did the team from Premier Inn Aldgate try and help even though I would have happily paid more/upgraded for the added comfort.

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to the issues you had. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. Upon arrival issued room 526 room and found the whole room was cleaned but not the toilet, which was full of diarrhoea. During a time when hygiene standards are supposed to be even more important, this was entirely shocking.

Called reception and they replaced with room 226. Although I had to go all the way back down 5 floors to sort this problem out no effort to come to me and replace key card etc. WIFI premium code, first didn't work, second only allowed one device connected and not 3 as advertised. Room air conditioning and quality of bedding was poor vs other Premier Inns and quality of sleep was really poor and uncomfortable.

Bar staff made comment about how they wanted to get home soon at 9.30pm when they didn't close until 11pm when asked what time they finished, they also indicated sarcastically that this depended on how many more drinks we ordered.

I have stayed in many Premier Inns and not complained, but the quality of this far fell below what is good customer service. 1 morning breakfast was refunded for the toilet situation, which was obviously some cleaner as the lid was still up. How can you have a massive load of diarrhoea, no tissue in the toilet to suggest you've cleaned yourself and then the cleaner not notice this during an ENHANCED clean is beyond acceptable standards. You can only question what level of attention they're paying the whole room during this time?

Worst Premier Inn experience to date.

The hotel was in a great location for our trip, a few minutes walk from Tower bridge and a tube stop around the corner. The staff at this hotel are the real stars though, we arrived early and understandably our room wasn't ready IONUT, who was working at the desk was warm and friendly, made sure we had somewhere safe to store our luggage and took the time to point out a few places to grab a drink if we wanted to explore. Returning to the hotel an hour after check in time our room was sadly still not ready, within seconds he was on the radio trying to resolve the problem, the cleaning staff prioritized our room and minutes later we were ready to go, we believe it was the duty manager who spoke to us too, she was really apologetic but in reality they had done far above and beyond what most staff would do.

We'd also like to thank the staff serving breakfast on the 26/06/21, the kitchen was running slow and a few orders got messed up. The female member of staff was doing her best to get things running smooth again and had to deal with one of the most disgusting customers we've witnessed, she suffered nothing but obnoxious and rude behavior from a female customer but despite all of that kept calm, smiled, and resolved everything.

If you want a good quality, fair priced hotel with some of the hardest working staff then we highly recommend this hotel. We will return and happily pass up on other cheaper alternatives.

We stayed in the Premier Inn just before Christmas and loved it’s location as we were close to Tower Bridge and the Xmas markets along the river.

Arrived first thing so our rooms weren’t ready however they do look after them securely.

Got back to the hotel late in the evening as we’d been around London all day. The rooms as usual were clean, tidy and spacious.

The attached bar is great for evening drinks and the breakfast was good too - continental and full English on offer.
