This was our second stay at The Grand, this time for our honeymoon. We were asked to take a temperature check on our arrival and the new housekeeping arrangements were explained.

When we got to our room it had a paper seal on the door to show it had been fully sanitised and checked by the head housekeeper.

London is very quiet at the moment and with the vat reduction its the ideal time to visit. Personally I enjoyed the extra room and how easy it was to book tables at otherwise very popular restaurants. I know its not ideal for all the businesses trying to make a living but if you want to visit London with less of the hustle and bustle now is the ideal time.

The Grand is in the ideal location to explore the centre of London being only a 2 minute walk from Charing Cross underground and only a 5 minute walk from Covent Garden. The hotel itself is immaculately presented and was always spotless. The staff were helpful and requests were actioned immediately. We would often recommend The Grand to our friends after our previous stay and will continue to do so.

I stayed for one night in one of the newly refurbished small double rooms.

The room itself was lovely and spacious, it had all the amenities I needed for one night (ironing board, fridge, microwave, TV, drawers, hanger space, ensuite, AC), and the bed was cosy.

The room cost a little less (in some cases much less) than at other hotels in the area, and give what you get from a room, it's great value.

With regards to COVID, A certified cleaning programme is in operation, in which rooms are sealed once they have been cleaned, which is comforting. My temperature was checked on arrival and masks must be worn in public spaces. Hand sanitisers are posted at the entrance and by the lifts.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating from start to finish, which made my stay all the more pleasant (I dealt mostly with Nalin - thank you!)

Birthday treat delayed because of the covid situation. Finally got to London for a few nights stay to celebrate. Temperature checked before check in. Checked in by Nalin, very friendly and informed us of the covid precautions that the hotel had in place. As it was for my wifes' birthday, he arranged for a bottle of English red wine to be delivered to our room. Room had been cleaned and sealed to ensure no contamination. We was informed that there would be no house keeping during our stay, but anything we needed ( fresh towels etc ) could be arranged via reception. The room was quite spacious with complimentary bottle of water( a water station was near or room, the ice machine was temporarily out of action but fresh purified water was available.) The room also had a safe, tea and coffee , a kettle, iron and ironing board, fan and in the shower room toiletries. Lots of draw space and large TV on the wall. We were in a room at the back of the hotel, it was very quiet but not much of a view. Hotel is close to shops , pubs ,cafes and restaurants( though not all were open ) There are lots to see within easy walking distance from the hotel, Covent Garden, the Palace, West end for shopping and the royal parks plus the Thames. The wine bar was not always open and closed when we came back from dinner.
When it was time to leave we were checked out by Matthew, also very friendly and arranged for us to leave the luggage to be collected later.
Highly recommend this Hotel. London is open for tourist and the hotel takes the safety if its staff and guest seriously.

Every aspect of the hotel was perfect. The rooms were pre-sanitised and no-contact services were available which made it a safe stay. Nalin and all other staff members were very helpful and friendly. The location is the best part. Travelling became really easy and cheap because of this. I would definitely visit The Grand again.

From the check in experience to checking out the stay was very enjoyable.
The staff were very helpful and friendly during every interaction with them, this made checking in quick and simple.
Although the cleaning staff could not come into the room due to Covid restrictions remaining in place there was a text system in place to request a replenishment of tea/coffee making supply or cleaning and towel replacement should you require.
Although the overall cleanliness of the room was good, the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. However, this was a minor point and did not detract from the stay.
The central location of the hotel is ideal for sightseeing or any of the theatres.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be staying here again in the future.

We travelled to London to celebrate my mums birthday and stayed for 1 night in the hotel. Despite the challenging times, the hotel pulled out all the stops to ensure we felt safe. From temperature checks when checking in, hand gel stations throughout the hotel and sealed sanitised rooms it was reassuring to see the lengths the hotel had gone to.
The staff were exceptional - warm, friendly and informative. A huge thank you to Nalin for making my mums birthday extra special and sending complimentary wine to our room. A lovely gesture and one that goes a long way. So much so, we have rebooked again for next April, hope to see you then!

We have just returned home from a short overnight stay and would highly recommend this place.
The location is perfect for theatres, which was our primary reason for going but is also perfect for lots of the main attractions and close to the river as well

Our room was comfortable and had every amenity needed, for a London hotel it was extremely quiet and secure but what made our stay special was the staff, who were all friendly, helpful and pleasant, from check in, to Boyds restaurant, to the housekeeping staff we encountered, everyone was smiling and willing to have a chat to our very chattery 11 year old daughter.

I have to admit taking a child to London hotel can be a bit daunting as some are more child friendly than others, however she was not only well received but the barman in Boyd’s was very good to her and even made her a special drink, plus a lovely lady named Tema (not sure of her title) had a great chat with her about acting and performance and made her feel very important, which was so appreciated.
It is the little details that set a place apart, city hotels can feel a little impersonal but this one had heart and warmth and we will definitely be using it again in the future.
Hospitality has had a shocking 2 years but this hotel is bouncing back strong!

Stayed for a weekend middle of August, and what a find. Hotel in a great position for exploring all parts of the city. Hotel was very clean, with Covid-19 measures in place. A really nice touch was breaking your own Covi-19 seal when you first enter your room (this gave re assurance about cleanliness etc)The guys in reception explained everything and made you feel very welcome. The room was great, nice and quiet. No room service as such because of Covid, however anything you wanted (towels, toiletries etc) you just had to ask at reception and they kindly left them wrapped up outside your room. Prices really excellent at the moment, so go ahead and book you wont be disappointed..! Have already re-booked for 3 nights in January.

Stayed at The Grand for 3 nights middle of Feb. Main areas of the hotel were OK but rooms were awful. Decor dated, heating system didn't work properly and the bathroom was tiny. Shower curtain in shower which is so out of date and no useful extraction in the bathroom. No towel rail or radiators anywhere so bath towels were still wet when we got back from a day out. No service to the room which we were told was because of covid (really?) So no bed made up or fresh sheets, towels or toiletries. Coffee and tea facilities in the room but again not replenished because of no servicing the rooms.
We were given a mobile number to text to request items such as towels etc but this was not ideal and inconvenient. We booked through booking.com and had a genius discount so paid £130 per night for room only. Not what we expected would not stay again
Will say staff were pleasant and the hotel is in a good location right by Trafagar Square... Great for exploring London.

We stayed here for one night for our wedding anniversary and from the moment we arrived it felt special. We were welcomed and checked in quickly, and told happy anniversary by the staff.
The lobby was stunning, clean and with plenty of sanitiser stations around. We got up to our room and it was sealed with a sticker to say it had been sanitised. The room was large and the bed was comfy. We had a nice surprise of a packet of sweets and a bottle of wine as a present for our anniversary which made our stay that bit more special.
When we checked out we were given the option to leave our luggage at the front desk which meant we could explore at our leisure without having to drag a suitcase around. Collecting it before we left the city was easy, and quick.
Our stay at this hotel made our anniversary trip even more special, and we'd definitely stay here again!

Uber is always an option but an expensive one. I recommend taking the Gatwick Express. I used this service on my last trip and I highly recommend it, as you'll save a lot of time and beat the long lines. You can book this online and possibly get a lower fare. It'll take about 20 minutes from the airport to Victoria Station, which is right in the city center.
