The Antoinette Hotel Wimbledon garners praise for its cleanliness and the comfort found within its rooms, though guests have called out the rooms for being on the smaller side and occasionally noisy, with some outdated elements. Its prime location is popular among travelers, providing easy access to surrounding amenities and public transport. While the hotel's atmosphere receives mixed feedback, many visitors appreciate the professional and friendly service. Travelers also find the hotel to offer good value, despite some remarks about additional breakfast costs and basic amenities.

We recently had a 6 week holiday in Britain an stayed for much of the time in Wimbledon at the Antionette. The Front of house staff were amazing! Friendly, professional and very accommodating not to mention a wealth of knowledge when it came to local restaurants, the public transport networks, even where one could spot a Womble.
We initially stayed 15 days before heading off on the 27th of December on a road trip to Cornwall via Scotland. We returned again on the 9th of January for a further 19 nights. When they first realised we were staying for an extended stay they put us in a room at the back corner with limited noise from foot or road traffic. When we returned, we were given the same room. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in, which included stays in both a luxury London Hotel and a Scottish castle.
The Housekeeping staff (Housework fairies according to my wife) were also amazing, the room was always spotless, and on the days we slept late, they were happy to give us space and provide us with top up tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, whatever we needed.
I highly recommend The Antoinette to any who wish to find great and affordable accommodation around Wimbledon. And for an additional £10 the fully cooked, buffet breakfast was also a big plus.
Wimbledon station and South Wimbledon station were both within 12 minutes walk, but with four bus routes right out front each way, the actual walk was reduced to only a couple of minutes.
Simply outstanding value for money.

I stayed at Hotel Antoinette for 10 nights in their Executive Room no. 453 as I needed to shield myself from my partner, having attended my Dad's wedding day, so I was also using this room for work during the day and only venturing out for daily exercise.

My Room:

The room was very clean and I found the bed very comfortable and had some very good nights' sleep during my stay. The bathroom was great with actual big bath towels (not those towels that hardly cover you!) and a fabulous power shower (better than mine at home!).

Unfortunately, the chair and desk were quite uncomfortable to sit at every day to work and also the sofa was quite low to the ground and rigid to get comfy on for a long while.

I was grateful however for the room size (needed for a long stay) as the extra space allowed me to do a bit of exercise. The small wardrobe and shelves were much needed and useful too. Free Wifi was good enough and a bonus compared to hotels that charge extra for this.

Plug sockets on both sides of the bed would have been great instead of just one side. The hairdryer did the job ok.

Room Noise:

I had requested a room away from the lift and not facing onto Wimbledon Broadway (to avoid traffic noise), which I was given however, on Friday and Saturday nights, very slight base vibrations from the next door nightclub could be felt until around 2-3 am.

My room was in the annex at the back and I did hear some traffic/ambient noises (mostly Friday and Saturday nights) although not enough to bother me, especially once I closed the windows. The fan in the room was also very useful for when the room was warm at night and I didn't want to open the windows because of the traffic noise.

Breakfast:

I had breakfast twice, delivered to my room. The quality and choice was very good ranging from continental to everything you might want in an English Breakfast, juices and fresh fruit too.

Deliveroo:

During my stay, the hotel were offering to deliver Deliveroo meals to your room (with plate and cutlery) for no extra charge. This service was always speedy and friendly!

The staff were super helpful on arrival and throughout my stay, checking in a couple of times that I had everything I needed. Covid measures were also in place, such as hand sanitising stations and screens at reception.

Due to covid, there was no housekeeping which suited me well anyway as I needed to be careful how much contact I had with people during my stay. I also requested and was given a fridge (not usually in the Executive Room) so that I could make my own breakfast and lunch.

All in all, a very good stay. Just a little bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights!

Dear Rach D, On behalf of the whole Team, I would like to thank you for your valued review. I am delighted that you overall enjoyed all aspects of your stay however I am sorry to read your comments regarding the noise pollution from the venue next door. I can assure you that your observations were brought to the attention of the General Manager who has since reminded the venue to be considerate of our hotel guests and keep the music and bass levels down. Hoping you have the opportunity to return.

This was my second stay in a South Wimbledon hotel over the Christmas and New Year period and this is nicer than the big-chain hotels in the area. Good value for money with free parking included in the stay. The front-of-house personnel are friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and presentable with coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast was good with eggs made to order.

You get a better deal booking directly with the hotel than booking through hotel.com.

Having looked for somewhere to stay during our visit to the tennis this hotel seemed to fit the criteria. Very pleasant reception staff helpful ordered us a taxi very efficient. Our room 308 was spacious but a little dated it needs a walk in shower and some of the finishing leaves a bit to be desired. At a cost of £550 for 2 people 2 nights I was expecting an exceptional room but one or two things need looking at the skirting around the door and the sealant around the bath needs some attention, but the room was clean and had everything we needed. The hair drier came to bits but we fitted it back together, our balcony was a nice touch but we looked over a building site (not the hotels fault but no one told us) also we were woken up by building site noise on Monday morning we were leaving that day but a lay in would have been impossible. We had breakfast and I have to say the waitress was lovely sorry can't recall her name (Monday 4th July 10am) she was attentive and efficient the breakfast was worth the money quality ingredients and great choice. All in all a good stay and would return. Thank you

A comfortable hotel perfectly placed for access to central London by overground or underground with frequent trains. Free parking in a private car park which was great for peace of mind. Some of the rooms are quite small but we stayed in the Wingfield Suite - more a big room with a seating area than a suite, but worth it for the space and comfort. It was also very quiet as the bathroom insulates the room from the noise of the Broadway. I would probably have given it 5 stars but I always resent having to pay an extra fee for breakfast, If breakfast is not your thing, the Antoinette would be a perfect choice. Even with the caveat, we'd stay there again so do give it a try.

A weekend away in SW London - We stayed at this hotel as an alternative to staying at my parents house (which is busy, old and cluttered), we decided to stay in a cheap hotel that we picked mostly by chance, and didn't get our hopes up.

However, we arrived at the hotel in Wimbledon and was absolutely blown away at how accurate the pictures on the hotels Web page are, the hotel was actually nicer, cleaner and more comfortable than the pictures discribed. The front desk staff (particularly Brian) were super helpful, kind and polite, not to mention very accommodating to our disability needs (which is rare). We felt completely welcomed as very clearly LGBTQIA+ people and there was always a smile and comforting tone. I loved the deliveroo room service option and the front desk really went out of their way, late at night, to accommodate our needs and confusion of this service (we are rural country folk and don't have delivery services). We have decided, in future we will be going back to this hotel, everytime we want to visit London. Hundreds of quality local restaurants, takeaways, entertainment facilities and public transport links within a 5-10 min walk. 100% love and recommended this hotel if you're staying for a night or a week. Brilliant place.

A nice and cossy family friendly hotel. Staff were all polite and accommodating to requests. The breakfast was very good and well presented. The rooms had enough space to move around in and the superior double room had a balcony which was nice to have just to get some fresh air. A 10 min walk from Wimbeldon Tube/Train station and a 5 min walk to South Wimbeldon station so the location was good.

We stayed overnight while spending the day at the tennis. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Wimbledon station where we were able to get a bus to the grounds. We arrived at about 10:30 and there was no issue parking our car on the car park and leaving it there for the day. The staff were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to set up a screen to show the Engand match in the bar. Overall a great experience

I stayed here with a friend for the tennis and we had 2 single rooms. Mine was on the front (103) and was small but adequate and lacked nothing. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well as the room has good double glazing and air conditioning.
The bathroom was very small but perfectly adequate for one with a good shower. The bathroom door could have done with a hook on the back but the heated towel rail was a bonus and the soap suppled in the dispenser was lovely.

There was a clean kettle with tea and coffee provided. I felt as if everything had been thought of.

The only thing was the very small lift as I am claustrophobic but cannot walk up the quite steep stairs. I had expected a bigger lift.

The corridor doors could do with some foam in them or better closers as they are banging away until quite late. Walls are also a bit thin, next door TV was quite loud.

Staff in the hotel were lovely helpful people and it was exceptionally clean and well located. Breakfast was very good for a small fee.

Would I stay again ? Yes, despite the tiny lift and recommend it - yes.

Last night I booked a room in this hotel for my father in law and his partner , they were coming back from my birthday party, I didn’t wanted them to go back home, they live far away and it was late so booked it in last minute really. When they arrived to the hotel, my father called me on my phone because the man on reception want my card number to charge me £1 extra ( I don’t even know what’s that for, because I paid via booking.com already) So he told me that he needs my long number, and I asked him why he need it and I don’t think it is safe, I offered him to give my bank details, but he said that want only this number in a very rude way, and said that if I want give him that, then he want let them go to the room ( even I’ve paid Paid already). He also suggest that they going to smoke in the room and then he will charge me £100 for that( he shout on me via phone and talk very rude) so I gave him that number otherwise they couldn’t stay there. I hopefully nothing gonna missing from my bank account, because I don’t know who’s this guy was and what’s his responsibility in that hotel, he didn’t even said the name and his position. I hope so no money it will miss from my bank account in the future, because of that situation.
I would suggest you to have a little conversation with a man who was on reception last night because I felt literally he forced me to give him this long card number via phone, and is really unsafe, by the way, if I’ve paid online you should have my details on the system.

Thanks
Aga

Dear Aga, Thank you for your valued review following your recent experience at Antoinette Hotel Wimbledon. I am sorry to learn that your experience with the Night Porter on duty was not very pleasant as there seems to have been a misunderstanding. Please be advised that card details are only used at the time of booking to secure the reservation rather than paying for the reservation. At the time of check in we ask our guests to provide card details at the time of check in to pre-authorise (if guests are paying upon departure) or to pay the full rate at the time of check in. It has come to my understanding that the guests were unwilling to provide either payment method hence why the Night Porter contacted you, the booker. I hope you can understand that the Night Porter was only following hotel procedures. Shin Guest Relations

The taxi will cost a pretty penny!the equivalent of around $100 give or take 10. It is best to either use uber or the major subway train. Also there is the Express bus to Croydon but you can stop before Wimbledon and then take uber or taxi. Unless you are cool with money taxi is the most expensive transportation in London.

Yes I agree its the superior rooms but I would be careful as I am not sure that all of them have balconies. It would be worth a phone call to make sure you got what you wanted or an email and an option to cancel the room free of charge if not right. Good Luck
