Reading all the excellent PLUS not so good reviews we were a little dubious about booking this hotel but we are SO glad we did! It's not 'The Ritz' of course but the room (513) was clean, warm (adjustable A/C), comfortable, fresh towels/tea making facilities & we slept like logs with no outside or inside noise whatsoever. The view through the two side buildings was of the London skyline & was fabulous especially at night.
The receptionists were beyond lovely (Cassandra & Misky) & were SO accommodating & friendly. Plus we ate dinner in the bar/cafe on the first night & it was beyond delicious, the best Tikka Massala I've had for years, all cooked fresh & arrived promptly piping hot. The service was impeccable.
The location is ideal for buses/trains/tube right outside, so not 'scenic' if that's what you're looking for. But go for an upper room & you'll be away from the hustle & bustle.
A small Sainsbury's & Waitrose are within 30 seconds (with security guards😉).
The only poultry negative is that the lifts could do with daily cleaning...but they worked perfectly.
Overall my Mum & I were very pleased with our stay. Thank you everyone for being so helpful & kind!!☺🙌

The location is excellent, right outside Vauxhall Station for easy connections across London and beyond. If you fancy walking into Central it's around 45 minutes. I arrived and nobody was on the check in desk, so I had to wait for a while until someone appeared as there is no bell or means of contacting anyone. Check in was quick and I was given a room on the 3rd floor (super room). The room itself was on the end of the building so quiet, and directly at Platform level with Vauxhall Station (which satisfied my inner train geek). Despite literally overlooking one of the busiest mainlines in the country there was no noise whatsoever, so the rooms are well insulated from noise. Unfortunately on this occasion the obligatory KitKats that are usually in Super Rooms were not there, not sure why. The coffee/tea/machine etc were all present as usual. The air con worked beautifully which was nice as it was the hottest day of the year. The bed was big and comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Just before I was due to leave in the morning I pulled out the desk chair for the first time and saw it was covered in food crumbs/hairs etc so clearly cleaning is not being done thoroughly as you would expect in covid times, which was a little disconcerting. There were also stains on the carpet and damage on the walls. I reported this when I checked out and the staff member was apologetic but not much they can do.

Booked last minute for work purposes due to convenience and price.
The hotel was extremely quiet due to COVID19 so there was loads of availability as UK hotels are only open for work purposes, however they did not ask to see confirmation of this.

Check in was very quick and simple and the receptionist guy was very helpful and pleasant - I had booked a standard double room but asked if they had a Super Room available for the same price and surprisingly they were happy to oblige.
I was given room 309 which was very nice and warm with lovely lighting, a comfortable kingsize bed, and a very good shower and bathroom. It was at the front of the hotel looking over the bus station.
The TV was easy to work and had a very good picture. There was also a Lavazza capsule coffee machine which I didn't use, a kettle as well as some KitKats!

The cafe bar was closed due to the hotel being situated in a Tier 4 area.

Overall I would say the hotel was well worth the price (I paid £39.99 for a Saturday night) and the room compared very favourably with more expensive hotel chains.
Without experiencing the standard room I am unsure as to whether it is paying the extra £20 for the Super Room but the receive this room free of charge was a very nice bonus.

Travelodge definitely exceeded my expectations and I look forward to staying again soon.

Booked a 2 night stay to attend a theatre show and see some of the sites. Staff at reception on check in did not really seem bothered and we're chatting amongst themselves. Never the less, check in was quick and we were allocated room 206. On entering the room we were greeted with a strong smell of marujana and the previous tenants must have had a party as there were still party balloons in the room and under the small beds (of which there were 2 and we only needed 1 taking up some of the space in the small room). I wanted to complain but my husband told me not to as we had already unpacked and said we wouldn't be guaranteed a better room. Our room was overlooking the busy bus station and, with floor to ceiling windows, we had to keep the curtains shut most of the time as people on the upper decks of the buses could see right in. Even though the curtains were supposed to be black out curtains, the daylight beamed through the edges in a morning as they were too far away from the window.
The sheets on one of the smaller beds were stained and I found a toenail on them. My daughter would have freaked out if she had known, so I just used the quilt from the spare bed as a bottom sheet.
The pillows were almost flat when you lay on them and, even though there were spares on top of the wardrobe area, I did not want to use them as the bag they were in was very dusty and I wasn't sure how clean they would have been.
We went for a drink in the bar which seemed just as dirty. 3 tables had obviously been used earlier in the day and still had glasses on, bits all over the floor and a banana skin, but the staff did not seem bothered and were all chatting at the reception desk. The security guy was sitting at one of the tables on his phone the whole time we were in the bar.
No sugar or spoons when I ordered a coffee.
There were 2 toilets in the bar area, one of which had the sink hanging off the wall and the other had a full toilet roll put down the toilet. When my husband told staff, one of the male staff said 'you can still use the sink, just don't hang on it!'.
We have stayed in many travelodges in the past but this is by far the worst. Plus, the parking that is advised by the website cost me £80 for 2 days!!

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions usually for one or two nights and could never fault it, however, I booked into stay at the hotel for 5 nights i was undergoing treatment at one of the hospitals so thought i would make a break of it as well. I booked a so called superior room along with breakfast and paid £500 plus for the pleasure. I booked in and went to my room it was all clean and nice however no towels or tea coffee making facilities. I went back down to reception who gave me the the tea coffee and towels and back to the room i go.
The toilet seat was not fixed properly and sitting on it was not an experience i would recommend.
I get back to the room on the second day it had not been serviced at all bed untouched no clean towels no tea and coffee back to reception i go and got the towels and tea coffee the third day the same on the forth day i lost my rag and going to reception asking for the usual plus toilet rolls when the reception pipes up you have to leave a card on the door to have the room serviced i asked why i had not been told this and more importantly how do you get on of these cards and she pulls a wad of the out of a box
in addition to the room servicing the room was bloody freezing at night and no matter how i adjusted the air conditioning i could not get any hot air out of it.
The breakfasts were dreadful all i can say is good food ruined the bacon was burned on the on side and raw on the other where there had been no effort to separate the bacon during cooking resulting in a white slime to form on the bacon
which was cold because the warming lamps were not warm enough sausage were cooked in a deep fat fryer and tasted ok once you get through the grease the rest of the food i didn't eat. The only other thing i did have was cereal the usual little packets but one morning waited 15 mins for them to bring a jug of milk.
If i had been paying £50 a night i would have said you get what you pay for but £100 a night then i expect a proper hotel with serviced rooms and food presented properly.

Things didn’t get off to the best start. Check-in was in the basement but one of the two lifts was broken so only went to the ground floor. If you called the lift the broken one kept coming. I worked out that if I reached in and sent it up to the top floor I could then call the other lift which would go down to the basement (heavy case so didn’t want to use the stairs). The room key didn’t work so had to go back to reception (same issue with the lift not going to the basement) to get it re-programmed. The room was on the 5th (top) floor so nice and quiet …. but about 30 degrees as the window didn’t open and the air unit didn’t blow cool air - it just recirculated the already warm air. It felt claustrophobic and oppressive with the heat. There was no soap in the dispenser. The duty manager came up but couldn’t move me as the hotel was apparently fully booked. He complained that as the duty manager he shouldn’t be refilling soap dispensers at 9.45pm … I pointed out that as the customer I shouldn’t be having to ask for them to be refilled. After two nights I was able to move to a room where the air con worked and it was much more pleasant (although I was given another room on the 5th floor initially but the receptionist came and checked it and found that it had a broken air con unit too, so managed to get a room on the 2nd floor). Showers in both rooms poured water on the floor in spite of best efforts to hold the curtain in place with my foot whilst showering. The cooked breakfast was luke warm, even when I arrived as it was being brought out from the kitchen at 7am. The hotel is convenient for public transport and is surprisingly quiet given it’s sandwiched between the train station and the bus station, but that’s probably because the windows don’t open.

We arrived a bit early and Malick on reception couldn’t have done more to accommodate us. A charming chap with a real customer focus.
The rooms and corridors looked freshly decorated and we had our towels and teabags refreshed whenever we hung the sign on the door.
This location is right next to the underground, overground and bus station. It’s just so handy for everything. A+++

We received a warm welcome at reception and the lady gave our 2 kids a kitkat each. She told them to come down any time and ask for more as they had lots of boxes of kitkats. We stayed for 5 nights and on one occasion our kids plucked up the courage to go to reception and ask for a kitkat where they were told by a grumpy member of staff that you only get one when you check in?

The family room was far too small for 2 adults and 2 kids - you could hardly move. It also smelt damp and the air conditioning was non existent in the middle of a heat wave. Beddings and towels were not changed throughout our stay and it was difficult to get towels dry due to there being nowhere to hang them in the tiny room and the room was damp.

Bar was closed during our stay so can't comment on that.

The location of the hotel is good for getting around central London and you are located right next to buses/trains/tubes.

I have stayed at this hotel and other Travelodges in London for many years but every stay in the past 6 months has been terrible.

Over many visits every time I have had issues that have resulted in many complaints to reception and none were resolved and there is a general lack of interest or inability to resolve the issues.

On my last stay I was moved room twice because the aircon was not working efficiently. It was very hot and there is no ability to open any window. The whole hotel is very very hot and stuffy.

I was moved to one of the newly refurbished rooms but that too was very hot and the aircon cooling didn't work.

The shower design is flawed, and often water just floods onto the bathroom floor.

The wifi you have to pay for which in this day and age is a customer insult. I stay in hotels all over the world and this is about the only one left to charge to use the wifi and when you do pay for it the speed and stability of that wifi is terrible so be warned if you hope to be able to work from your room.

The value for money has deteriorated over the years. It is now very expensive for what you get and there are far better value for money hotels in London.

I have now switched my regular London visits to the hub by Premier Inn and they are cheaper, have free perfect wifi, and perfect aircon and facilities.

I frequently travel to London for business and the only thing this hotel has going for it is it’s location. Very good transport links and easy access to the rest of London. Here the positives end.

After a fair queue to check in, I asked for a room away from the lifts which they kindly provided and I was in a room on the second floor at the end of the corridor. Upon reaching my room and trying to lock the door I found that the door was damaged and didn’t lock, given the late time I decided to just live with it (I travel with door wedges) and raise it in the morning. As I settled in for the night I also realised that the windows in the room don’t open and every time someone on the floor used their bathroom the pipes in my room rattled loudly! Not ideal.

I don’t know if anyone was in the room next to me but I didn’t have any other disturbance in the night besides the pipes, the bed was spacious and comfy and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Be warned the TV is probably the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel room.

At breakfast I went to reception and raised the issue of my lock and pipes. Reception seemed very unbothered about the lock, they said they could “try” and call maintenance, and in relation to the pipes my only option would be to move rooms but when I asked to do so they said I couldn’t because they were full. Perhaps don’t offer that as an option then?

After lodging my issues I went for breakfast and was greeted by the driest and most unappetising food I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. I tried some eggs and beans but that was it and I didn’t eat in the hotel for the rest of my stay.

Upon returning to my room at 11pm after a day in work I found my door key didn’t work. I went to reception and waited 15 mins for someone to help at which point I had the most frustrating and unhelpful conversation with the receptionist to try and explain the issue. After eventually getting my room key reset I returned to my room to find the lock issue was still unresolved but again given it was nearly midnight at this point any they had already told me the hotel was full there was very little I could do. Apparently locking doors and personal safety isn’t a priority here, and yes the pipes still rattled.

Upon checkout the reception did helpfully let me leave my case with them until later in the day, however someone else in the queue asked where they could buy a phone charger and was told there was no where suitable nearby, this is despite there being a small Sainsbury’s and Tesco opposite and a huge Sainsbury’s about 5 mins down the road, all of which I know for a fact sell phone chargers. Not sure why reception didn’t inform the individual of this .

Overall I would not recommend staying here, the room itself was fine and the location is very good however the rest of the hotel and the service leaves a lot to be desired and there are better hotels at a similar price in the same area.
