Had a one night stay here in order to enjoy a number of London attractions over a couple of days. The price compares more than favourably with usual London prices especially considering it's location close to galleries; theatre land; eateries and sightseeing. We expected the room to be small after reading reviews which it was but it was small and adequate - we had all we needed including a comfortable bed and, importantly, it was clean and surprisingly quiet for central London. The breakfast room, as stated by others is small (we've experienced equally small rooms overseas) and we took the advice of previous reviewers and went to breakfast early so the buffet full English was hot. Cereals and toast are on offer and unlimited cold and hot drinks. We were happy with our choice of hotel and would return.

Just stayed here with a group of girlfriends for a night out. I booked and they were all a bit dubious about the outside appearance of the hotel and the low price. Just goes to prove you cant judge a book.....etc.
Receptionist was lovely, rooms, whilst not huge for 3 people, were spotlessly clean. As simple country folk my room mates were moaning it was too loud with the windows open (its london ffs) but couldnt hear anything with them closed.
Beds were really comfortable and we all slept as well as expected when you are sharing a bed with a work mate.
The other 3 in another room were equally impressed, having stayed out later, by the warm welcome they got from the night porter....bless him. He was still there when we left at 10 the next morning.
Only complaint was the lack of milk cartons for a cuppa ...I am sure we could have gone and asked for more but tbh couldnt be bothered.
Will definately use the 7 dials again. Thank you for a lovely stay

The location is very central which is great for getting around, however the walls are thin and there was lots of noise from the street so it wasn't exactly a peaceful sleep. The first room we went into the lights were all broken, but we were moved rooms very quickly and with no fuss, and the room we were moved to was slightly nicer so that was a bonus. The beds are rock solid, if you like that then this hotel is the one for you, I personally found it a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it is a decent hotel in a good location, the staff were all helpful and friendly but some aspects could be improved.

Me and my friends booked to stay at the seven dials hotel for a night and it was awful. The room had not been cleaned, there were huge stains on the bedding and towels, the kettle had dirty old water still in, and the toilet seat was unclean as well. It was simply unbearable. Subsequently we went down to ask for clean sheets and the man at reception was very unhelpful, when asking for new duvet covers he told us there was none left. After about 20 minutes of waiting around (bearing in mind this was about 3 in the morning and we were very shattered) he finally gave us a key to another room. We were told we would be able to speak to the manager in the morning but when we got to the desk they weren’t there. We spoke to a woman however she was again very useless and would not tell us when the manager would be in and just said for us to email. Will be requesting for our money back. Very upsetting it had the potential to be a lovely hotel in the centre of London but was let down hugely. Do not go.

Let's get the negatives out of the way. The room and bathroom were on the small side and just a bar of soap provided on the sink, so pack toiletries. HOWEVER, for this price in this location, I cannot believe people complaining on here. If you want a bigger and more modern room with more facilities, put your hand in your pocket and pay for it.

Onto the positives...the staff were so helpful and accomadating. We didn't have enough pillows and I needed an iron and that was provided straight away. We stayed on the 4th floor but there is a lift in working order thankfully. The place is spotlessly clean. We had a full day after we checked out and they were more than happy to keep hold of our bags for us, which was really nice and also allowed us a late check out. Thanks for the great stay guys, I will definitely recommend to family and friends for a great base to stay in a convenient central London location! They also advised when checking out that booking directly through them works out about £10 to £15 cheaper than through your usual booking sites.

Excellently located, clean and tidy. The only thing you will need is your own shower gel and shampoo as they only supply soap (in a small bar).
I would definitely book it again, we booked at the last minute and got a double room for £55 for the night. It also appears they no longer do breakfast so you may want to pack some breakfast biscuits although there are plenty of places to eat bear by.

Stayed primarily due to location for a nearby gig and on that front the hotel did not disappoint. Lots of places to eat and drink on the same road or within a short walk. I stayed in room 6A which probably lowers my rating as this is basically an extension to the reception…. The sound proofing is non existent so all comings and goings can be heard. You are also under the staircase in this room which worsens this problem. In addition every time the night manager opens or closes reception, you hear it….. I would have scored higher for a lower price but when you can get modern, clean and much quieter at a Holiday Inn express or Premier Inn Hub for the same or less then I’d do that next time…

Having read the reviews prior to booking we weren’t expecting the ritz, certainly not for £130 in the middle of Seven Dials but we wanted somewhere near the theatres so we didn’t have to get the tube back with the kids late at night and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived just after check in time to pick up the key from the hotel before heading to the annexe round the corner. The lady who checked us in was very helpful, explaining everything and directing us to the right place. On arriving at the annexe I would say the communal staircase isn’t the most welcoming, it smelt a little fusty but the room was spot on. A double bed, 2 single beds, fridge, kettle, hairdryer and TV. It was clean, nice and spacious and perfect for getting a night’s sleep on the edge of theatre district. If you want luxury, you’ll be disappointed but if you want to be central and have a clean, comfortable place to stay the night you can’t go far wrong. Would definitely stay again if visiting for a theatre trip.

Stayed here for a theatre trip and location is excellent but the decor needs modernising drastically. The rooms differ in size as previous time we stayed the double room was spacious but the second time we stayed the room was very small and no space from the bed to the wardrobe. The breakfast room is very very small and can only comfortably accommodate 7 adults. The stairs are very slim and steep but they do now have a lift to all floors which is a big help for anyone with mobility issues.
Stayed in better hotels but the winner here is the location and price

Excellent position, central and well served. The room was pretty basic but good enough considered the price. Please just put thicker blinds and remember to check the bathrooms while cleaning so that nobody will find a used soapbar in the shower ever again

Answer from Carol M. Salter

Hi Montreal Yes it is in walking distance, especially if you have luggage with wheels. Come out of Covent Garden Tube station and cross the road, head right into Neale St. Cross over Sheldon St and Short Gardens. Turn left at the junction of Shaftsbury avenue almost doubling back on yourself and the hotel is about 30 yards down on the left side. Alternatively you can use Google maps which will print out the journey for you and the distance. If you feel really lazy you can take a taxi, but they will charge loads. Hope this helps and hope you're not on the 4th floor with that luggage. Enjoy London.
