The Baglioni Hotel London garners acclaim for its sumptuous amenities and elegantly appointed rooms, complete with full espresso makers and spacious bathrooms that guests find luxurious. While the hotel's atmosphere exudes elegance, some suggest it could be refreshed. Service at the hotel generally receives high marks for professionalism, though there are occasional remarks about lapses in attentiveness. Opinions on value diverge, as some question the hotel's 5-star status relative to cost. Nevertheless, its cleanliness and prime location opposite Hyde Park are consistently celebrated by guests.

Best location central to all London’s attractions and great service, accommodations, and experience! Would definitely stay again! The surrounding community is clean, safe, and welcoming. Also 12 minute walk to the underground to quickly get anywhere in the city.

As a long term returning guest one appreciates certain details in a hotel stay. Baglioni offers one of the friendliest and most efficient staff i have experienced anywhere. Attention to detail, smiles and attitude make the whole difference between a visit and a “memorable” visit. From the staff cleaning the rooms to perfection to the Restaurant waiters going out of their way to serve excellent food promptly and efficiently to the Spa therapists offering moments of relaxation during a busy day, nothing is left to improvisation and everything is offered with a smile. Definitely The Baglioni London is one of the jewels in the Baglioni chain.

I have to say Baglioni hotel is the best place to stay in London! The location next to Kensington palace and very close to central transportation is perfect for any time of the year as the Kensington park is right across the street.

The rooms are luxurious and very comfortable and reception and lobby and restaurant areas are very nice and Cousy and not overly stuffed up so it’s wonderful to seat there in the evening.

But the best part about this hotel is the service - if I can give it 10 stars I would. Front desk manager Sara, her assistant Paulinka, consierge Donato and restaurant manager Filippo are just amazing and treat each guest a a member of their own family. The hotel is part of Italian chain and a lot of employees are Italian- so Italian hospitality is the key.

We have stayed in the hotel a week and I have to tell you not only every request was met everyone went above and beyond to help and accommodate us even before we arrived. (I even emailed Filippo my breakfast order and he would have it ready for me in the morning even on his days off!). Sara literally treated us like family and send so many goodies to our room I can’t even begin to describe it.

If you are planning to stay in London please don’t go for any chain or big hotels- stay at Baglioni you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed at the Baglioni in November 2021 for 1 night.

Location

This is very much like one's Italian home in Kensington, we had walked from South Kensington, which is not too far, and you also have views of Kensington Gardens which one can explore, alongside High Street Kensington.

Room

We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite, and were provided Champagne and sweet treats in celebration of our anniversary and the third time we had been staying here. The decor of the Baglioni is extremely warm, marble bathrooms with wonderful toiletries from DELLALUNA. My husband was pleased with the Illy coffee machine. I would say the internet speed is OK.

Cleanliness

The room and overall property has high levels of cleanliness. Not once did I come across a handprint on any of the glass, dust or otherwise.

Sleep Quality

5/5

Service

This is where there is room for improvement. Unfortunately for the first time, and possibly due to COVID, the service at breakfast was extremely slow. The customer service in response to what was a near boiling hot atmosphere of hungry patrons, was quite slow also. Of course, they did everything they could to rectify the inconvenience, and breakfast was lovely but not sure that I would wait 60-90 mins + for it.

Value

4/5

We will most likely stay again.

We would rate the Baglioni Hotel London on this occasion an 7.5/10

The highlight of this hotel is the staff. Hands down some of the best and most hospitable staff we have ever worked with. We had an extremely early morning and were not able to do a sit down breakfast bc the restaurant wasn’t open, Miguel hand delivered the breakfast with everything we requested at 6:15. We are so impressed at how hard everyone works and how welcoming they are after a long day of touring. Filippo in the breakfast area was such a delight to see every morning at the breakfast when we stayed for 6 nights. We loved breakfast every morning and returning to our very cozy room with incredible bed in the evening. Housekeeping staff kept rooms in great shape and were all very kind and sweet when you would see them in the hallways. We can’t wait to visit again and also visit sister resorts in other cities. All front desk/ door and concierge staff were a delight. Thank you for an incredible Babymoon!

The hotel is located directly across from Kensington Gardens, within 10 minute walking distance of a few metro/tube stops. It has the feel of a small boutique hotel and the service, from entering to check out, is superb. All staff we came into contact with were highly professional and personable, and were clearly interested in making our stay a pleasure. The property is well decorated and very comfortable, with nicely proportioned rooms and suites. The bar and restaurant area is open throughout the day, providing a nice public space. We had several meals at the hotel, breakfast, lunch, and dinner and all were excellent. The pastries at breakfast are particularly delicious and the lunch and dinner are excellent and a relatively good value. The hotel also has a spa and a gym with a good selection of weights.

Disappointed with our stay at the Baglioni in London.

Have stayed here before but there are better alternatives that are newer and more comfortable. Our room, while spacious, felt dated and not really clean and pristine.

We also booked a car transfer from the train station to the Baglioni through the hotel concierge and had to cancel about six hours before scheduled pickup time because of circumstances completely out of our control: our train from Scotland on the LNER line was cancelled, along with a number of others, because of a major downed power line outage.

Obviously we cannot control this, but the hotel was adamant about still charging us the full £135 for the car transfer we never used. Instead, we came stumbling into the hotel, totally exhausted, at 2:30am after managing to hire a car from Scotland to London. We had to get to London that night even though the trains were shut down, so we had no choice but to hire the car and driver. The whole experience was exhausting and very stressful.

We shared this information with several managers but the answer was always the same — you will be charged the full amount.

It was really frustrating and disappointing that in a bizarre circumstance like this, at a hotel where our room cost nearly $1,000 per night, that they would enforce this charge at all costs. It was more egregious to think about their rigidity and inflexibility than the cost of the car transfer itself.

Naturally if we had decided on a whim we didn’t need the car transfer and cancelled one hour before, that would be one thing. But we called right when our train was cancelled because of LNER’s technical disaster on the rail lines (totally unforeseen and unpredictable chaos unleashed within our trip) — and gave the hotel roughly half a day’s notice to cancel the car.

A hotel of this caliber should know better when it comes to making their guests feel valued in times of extreme stress like having a train cancelled from far north in the UK. But they were more concerned with collecting the £135 from us no matter what.

Positive points: Good breakfast buffet in the downstairs restaurant, if simple in terms of options by European luxury hotel standards. Nice amenity of Parisian macarons also in our room upon check in.

Disappointing: The inflexibility of the policy to charge us the £135 for the car transfer we didn’t use because our train was cancelled; the rooms could use a refurbishment; and the location is so-so … close to Kensington Palace but you will likely need to take a taxi if you want to spend time in Mayfair/Knightsbridge area (budget about £20 per taxi trip, so roughly £40 round trip).

If you can similarly priced options — I would recommend choosing an alternative instead. There are numerous really excellent hotels in this price range with a greater level of dedication to customer service and more updated amenities.

Dear Guest, Whilst I was pleased you took away an overall positive impression, I was concerned that you felt somewhat underwhelmed. I am sad to read that you did not appreciate our prime location which is often what initially attracts our guests. The Baglioni Hotel London is situated in front of Kensington Gardens, in the quiet and luxurious residential area of South Kensington, ideal for most travellers with many of London's most well-known sights such as Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and the V&A Museum just a short walk away. There are also local and international shopping streets and districts close by that can be reached by taking advantage of our courtesy Maserati car available daily for all our Guests. I am also sorry to read that you found the pick-up charge process to be rigorous. Although strict, the cancellation policy provided by our external supplier is clearly indicated in the confirmations we send, in order to avoid any unpleasant misunderstanding as in this case. We will anyhow take this opportunity to ask our partner to review the procedure wherever and whenever possible. Dear Guest, we truly appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention and do hope having the opportunity to welcoming you again, in order to provide you with an experience that truly reflects our value and dedication. Best regards, Lorenzo Soleri General Manager

Our stay of 7 days at Hotel Baglioni was memorable. The hotel is situated ideally with the park right across, shopping and the tube a 5/10 minute walk - which you don't even have to take since they give you a free limousine ride to all locations within a certain radius!!
The suite was amazing! Couldn't believe I was staying in London with so much space. There was a generous size sitting area, a walk in closet, and beautifully appointed bathroom. The icing on the cake was the little dressing table with full green room lighting!
The food in restaurant was very good - with gluten free and halal options - which suited me perfectly! Felipo at the restaurant made us feel so at home and catered to our every need with warmth and top class service. The concierge, front desk staff were all very warm and helpful. Every time we walked in we really felt like we have come home!

London has great Harry Potter locations and experiences for families. Thinking of the Baglioni in Harry Potter terms my daughter defined the hotel as a Slithering Chamber. The rooms, hallways and lobby decoration is dark, dated and in poor condition. Paint and materials are scraped and worn throughout. It’s as if Death Eaters feasted on this place. The shower doors leak water due to bad seals, the toilet flush button is loose and comes off the wall. The art on the walls in the hallways is only white canvases??!! Finally only one elevator is working. The other one has been broken for more than a week!! How long does it take to fix an elevator? The location is very convenient and the staff are very friendly and genuinely try to help, but they can’t make up for the owner’s total disregard for the condition of the property. Be ready to wait biblical times for breakfast as well. Friendly well meaning front staff seem to have no support in the kitchen as all dishes come out very very slowly. It may be lunch time by the time you get your breakfast. Until owners put some serious money into the property to completely refurbish it, it’s best to stay away. We left half way through week plus booking to find happier lodgings that provided better value for money. We paid more for the next hotel but got much more in exchange.

My Husband and I recently stayed at The Baglioni London Hotel for a three night break. Our experience was an absolute delight. Upon arrival, our car was taken care of by the Staff and we were upgraded.

This Hotel is Italian chic at its best. The staff are all so charming and helpful, and we felt very well looked after. The food was delicious, the location in Kensington was ideal right opposite Hyde Park, yet close to many of the must see attractions in London. We visited the Theatre twice and that was only a 15/20 minute taxi ride to the West End. The Hotel has a chauffeur for trips you wish to make locally.

Dear guest, thank you for your enquiry. There are only few rooms with balcony and they are different categories. If you need a terrace I would recommend booking our Junior Suite Courtyard as some of them have access to an internal courtyard with terrace. The same cannot be guaranteed upon reservation but if we know we will do our utmost. Kind regards, Lorenzo Soleri

Cabs in London are quite expensive it's true. 25 minutes would be right, more if its rush hour. Frankly the tube is always the way to go in London; if you're not a fan, don't ever use the NYC subway! If by central London you mean the Tower of London, Westminster etc, you can also use Uber or Lyft, they're much cheaper. But if you mean Mayfair and Oxford Street, over half the distance from the Baglioni is just getting around or through Kensington/Hyde Park. I find that a lovely walk on nice days. You could walk to the Northeast corner and catch the tube at Marble Arch.
