Newly opened hotel so everything was in excellent condition. However, the family room was tight for a family of four with no luggage space and four hungers above the pillow of one of the beds. I assume it was an extra bed and there was no other place to be put.
The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Good breakfast with a variety of sweet and savory choices. We also had dinner onsite twice and it was satisfactory and reasonably priced.
If you want basic room cleaning like bins to be emptied, towels to be changed you have to hang the door sign outside your room. First day we did’t know so no cleaning was done. Three nights stay and no bathroom or carpet cleaning.
Last to say, paid wi-fi nowadays is totally UNACCEPTABLE even for a low budget hotel.

What a fantastic little hotel. We only stayed for the one night. The hotels customer service is phenomenal, one of the best experiences I have had with Travelodge staff before. Everyone greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much hassle. The hotel is situated in a convenient location, with Oval Underground station a 2 minute walk away, and Vauxhall station a 10 min walk away. If you are staying at the hotel for the cricket ground, it is right on the doorstep.

The rooms are compact but everything you need, it comes with tea and coffee facilities, a comfy bed and a fantastic shower. As someone who likes to sleep with a cold room, you are able too due to the Air conditioning, which was lovely. It was also spotlessly clean and smelt lovely. The only downside to the room was we were abruptly woken up to a fire alarm at 12.30am and lasted a few minutes. However, this didn’t dampen our experience.

We indulged in both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The dinner was okay. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. We had Chicken Tikka Masala and a Buttermilk Chicken burger. The portion sizes for the dinner were a little on the small side, so it is something to think about for the future. The breakfast on the other hand, was very good. The hot food was delicious and hot, and continuously topped up. The coffee and fresh fruit juice facilities were lovely, and there was also a selection of cereals, fruit , breads and pastries. We left our breakfast feeling very full. Same again, blown away from restaurant staff customer service, nothing short of exceptional.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and recommend to friends and family.

Good bits.
Good size rooms, lots of plugs, comfy bed, you can alter air-con, quiet (even facing road).
Only 90 seconds walk from Oval tube station on Northern line (turn left out of station, no roads to cross)
The staff. We only got Paul's name but everyone was nice and helpful.
Less than 10 minutes walk to MI5 and then a nice walk along the Thames to Westminster.
Breakfast was only ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Lots of choice though. Perhaps I'm too fussy.

Not so great.
Bottle of beer was nearly £6 and £1.95 for a packet of crisps stopped me from having any more.

The £14 meal deal for a mains and a beer seemed a good deal but we never had it.

Bottom line, would we stay again? Definitely.

Stayed for 4 nights mid-March, this purpose built hotel only opened at the end of February 2024 so everything was shiny & new. Comfy beds & decent shower. We had a few technical glitches with keys & the aircon but staff resolved these. Good location ( great if you’re a cricket fan, our room overlooked the Hobbs Gate at the Oval ), close to the Tube (Northern line only) and there’s a bus stop close by. Bar/restaurant staff Linsey & Berci deserve a shout out for being so nice.

We had planned to visit London as a family of 4 and Travelodge London Oval Cricket Ground provided us with the most affordable and convenient location for our trip. The check-in and check-out process was hassle free and the little interaction we had with the hotel staff was delightful. The hotel is well located to visit all the major attractions in London City.

We stayed for the marathon weekend. Room was lovely and clean, bed very comfortable. Swapnil was helpful at breakfast. Staff on the reception and the housekeeping staff were very helpful and approachable at all times of day and evening. Location very close to the subway. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Lovely place but Presley at reception was very friendly and helpful! He's an asset for Tfavelodge!

I had an early morning meeting and Presley was extremely helpful in guiding me about the location and services and really made my experience staying at the Oval travelodge a delight!

Was expecting some guaranteed mediocrity during my stay at this well known hotel brand but somehow even that was beyond their abilities as the customer service was woeful, the room wasn't clean and some idiot said the room was vacant to a building worker when it wasn't - For a relatively new hotel branch this is concerning because if you can't do the basics right at the start then things will only go from bad to worse. Very disappointing all around especially with the location considered because it seems that complacency has already set in as far as taking custom for granted because of the cricket venue over the road by these unprofessional bunch of amateurs. Let's hope this feedback will be used as a lesson learned for whoever's in charge there to avoid any further world class cricket balls ups

Ideal location - we were attending an event in Leicester square on Saturday and the hotel was 20 mins via underground - perfect!
Hotel was clean, smelt beautiful and so easy to check in and out.
Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was exactly what was needed. Will definitely stay again!

As I said in my review the desk staff were boarder line obsessive about my friend coming to visit me in my room , travelodge taliban in my opinion. The room was immaculate as it was first time anyone stayed in it and the main road outside could not be heard at all . Shame one thing let the place down
