Stayed here, with my family, for 11 nights spanning through Christmas and New Year's Day.
Rooms were comfortable, Friendly/Helpful staff, Room was quiet (I recommend that you choose a room that does not face the street outside the hotel if you're fussy about any noise), Hotel located near the train and bus stations (very easy to get up and go wherever you want), Tesco next to the hotel open until 11pm is nice to have, lots of nearby shops to explore, good meals on the menu. The Indian restaurant/take-away serves really good food as well.

Was overall quiet satisfied with everything. I did not five a 5* rating because the cleaning of the room was not done efficiently as required. Vacuuming was not done at times and because it was the festive time, cleaning staff was limited. On the positive though, our complaints were promptly addressed by Reception.

I will surely book here again when I visit London again.

You will not find a more welcoming manager and his team gave us a friendly and happy experience. The DLR station is literally on your doorstep and then you are only minutes away from Canary Wharf and the Jubilee Line. There is some background noise from the busy nearby road but, for a budget hotel in central London, this one is hard to beat - particularly if you secure one of the regular Travelodge deals..

Arrived on a Hot Evening on 29th July 2022. Found the Reception area clean and the Receptionist welcoming. However we found the Communal areas and our Room to be very Hot and oppressive. The Small Cooling Fan in the Room was faulty too,but worked with the front Guard removed. However it was totally inadequate and ineffective. The Room Window could only be opened marginally due to a safety restraint attached to it. Over our Two Night Stay we struggled with the oppressive Heat in our room. Another issue we had was a Failure of the lighting circuit in our Room at approximately Midnight. This was reported to the Reception Desk at Breakfast time on the Saturday Morning and we were told it would be dealt with. However upon our return at 23:00 on Saturday Night, the Lights were still out in our Room. We had to complain again to the Gent on the Reception Desk, who came up straightaway and reset the Lighting circuit Trip switch in the Corridor outside our Room.
Wifi although paid for as an extra was limited to a Max of 2 Devices. This was not mentioned in the detail of the Booking. Something to watch out for if you have a Family of more than 2 persons.
Plus points were the excellent unlimited Buffet Breakfast, but no Pancakes were available, despite being on the Breakfast Menu. Overall we were happy with our stay but perhaps attention to detail needs to be improved!

Here for one night for work and arrived to the receptionist telling another guest that there were no towels as the order hadn't come through. She then warned me that my room may not have towels. Lickily there was one towel in my room and it was clean enough but the tap was very loose and nearly came off when I turned it on. Carpets are very worn and the kettle rattled ominously when I picked it up.

I'm now sat in the breakfast room and have just watched the one industrious member of staff who is covering breakfast walk a man in a suit round showing him what isn't working. That included two mains sockets which power the juice/water machine and another which would power the breakfast warmer. The toaster is currently turned off too so that the working socket can be used for something else. another guest looks a bit irritated.

The suited man seemed supremely uninterested and doesn't seem to appreciate that this means anyone who doesn't have tea/coffee can't get a drink. there are guests about and if he was interested I think he could probably have apologised or reassured them somehow.

breakfast was dry and I think had been sat out for a while.

The location of this place is great, but if your budget cam stretch I would recommend staying at the place next door instead.

I understand from other reviews there is a tesco nearby so I'm off to get some water.

I stayed at travel lodge hotel with a group of my college group. We all had an amazing experience with travel lodge. The staff were so lovely, especially the manager. He was very helpful as when we arrived before checking time they still allowed us to keep our luggage locked away in a room. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Good location near 2 stations and 10 min walk from bars and restaurants. However, don't stay here in the summer! The hotel room is stuffy to the point of being very uncomfortable. There's no AC, which seems common here, but it didn't get any cooler in the room when the weather cooled down to 17C! Since there's no air circulation the heat persisted. The window only opens slightly and the air extractor in the bathroom is tiny and seems to work only when you are using the shower, no ON switch. The merciful stuff let us borrow a fan which saved our sanity. We are a family of 4, maybe less people in the room would make it more bearable? Mgmt needs to do something this. I feel that any fumes in the room would poison us overnight since the air is stagnated.

My room wasn't serviced at all - I was lead to believe that if I didnt put a message on the door, they would come and service my room. They asked that I put my towels in the shower if I wished for new ones- which I did, however no one came and I was left with soggy horrible towels!
The Shower also leaked, and whenever I used it the whole bathroom floor was soaked.
The pillows were lumpy and old, the sheet was very thin and there were no extra amenities eg. hairdryer or safe.
The TV didn't work and wouldn't turn on, and it was even little things like the fact you couldnt pull toilet roll off of the holder because it was the wrong size and got stuck.
Even factors such as entering the hotel were poor, the automatic door was broken and took about 20 seconds to even open, and my key card continuously meant I was locked out and had to be restarted.
The room also wasn't too clean and there were hairs and things all over the floor, and it was dusty.
The breakfast was sub par and I was promised vegetarian meat options, which weren't there at all.
Overall, I went expecting the bare minimum (just a place to rest, sleep and get ready after my days out for business purposes) but I unfortunately wasn't given even that. I don't expect high standards from a Travelodge but this was awful. The only redeeming factor was that the staff were lovely - this was clearly not their fault but rather the hotel's actual management through the chain and the funding it is provided to fix things / provide the correct amenities. For the amount I was paying (about £130 a night) I expected at least the basics to be in place. I often visit Travelodges, as do my colleagues and associates, and I'll be telling them about my experience and think again before staying at one.

Very handy for local DLR Station (less than 200 yds) indeed a good location with pleasant enough surroundings. Staff welcoming and friendly and the room was very clean and tidy as was the en suite. The downfall here was for me my room faced onto Blackheath Road so at night during the humid weather the window had to be closed, no air conditioning but a fan was provided. Eating area (I had breakfast each morning) was very clean and staff were very quick to clear and clean a table once vacated. Only the room position and lack of air conditioning made me mark the hotel down but for value for money it was more than suitable and I would give the staff top marks.

The very next day after we checked out my wife realised she had left a dress on the hanger in our room. She called the hotel and spoke to a member of staff who said nothing was handed in and she would speak to the person who cleaned our room. My wife called back the next day but there was no update. She called again the following day and spoke to the same lady, who said she would call my wife back once she had spoken to the cleaner. She never returned her call. My wife spent about £20 phoning the 08 number trying to resolve the issue only for no one to get back to her. It's very disappointing to have a paying customer's property taken / discarded like this. The kindest thing to do would be to hold on to items for at least 24 hours so customers are able to retrieve their belongings. This was disappointing and made our stay less enjoyable.
