Sun Street Hotel London garners high marks for its whimsical yet regal atmosphere and immaculate cleanliness, with guests regularly complimenting the luxurious bathrooms and high-quality toiletries. The hotel's prime location is a hit among travelers, offering easy access to local attractions and transport. While the service generally receives praise for being attentive, some guests have noted occasional slow responses and issues with room assignments. Room comfort and stylish decor are celebrated, though there are mentions of size limitations and sporadic maintenance concerns. Despite the allure of sumptuous amenities, the perceived value is sometimes questioned due to unexpected charges and room rates.

We stayed one night at the Sun Street Hotel on a Saturday night.

Overview of this hotel is that it is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from London Liverpool Street Station. Its close to lots of nice restaurants, Spitalfields Market, The Gherkin, Heron Tower and Brick Lane.

The Hotel itself is very well appointed, newly refurbished and very very clean. The decor is amazing, and the staff were all pleasant and smart, even the cleaning staff asked how we were when we came across them in the halls.

Pros
The room was lovely, very well stocked with complimentary soft drinks, amenities and just lots of little touches which were well thought out. The room was extremely clean and the bed was so comfortable, with a decent hairdryer, kettle, coffee machine, mini fridge, iron, bath and toiletries included.
The Bath was a full size slipper bath, independent from the shower cubical.
We had breakfast which was very nice, and the breakfast room was stunning with a glass ceiling.

Cons
The water pressure and temperature wasn't great, we were in a loft room so part of me can understand the water pressure issue, however this is a 5 Star hotel so i'd like to hope they can fix this. The water cut out a few times during every shower taken.
Water temp was disappointing, the Bath is lovely and a real selling point of the room, however the water was so tepid that I had to boil the small kettle 5 times in order to take a semi comfortable bath.
Staff seemed a bit disorganised, not terrible but perhaps still learning the job and a bit lost at times.

One point to note was that we requested an early check in which could not be facilitated, absolutely fine with that and the hotel were happy to take our bags in and we went off to have lunch. However we returned after the normal check in time the room still wasn't ready. I have not put this down as a negative as they did give us a drink in the lounge while we waited.

I would stay here again as the positives far outweigh the few negatives.

We recently stayed at this exceptional brand new stunning 5* hotel which is of an excellent standard and ideally situated in the heart of London and a few minutes from City. From the outside of the hotel you can see the original Georgian buildings and the inside doesn’t disappoint with its luxurious chic and contemporary interiors and artwork.
From arrival at the hotel, we were made to feel special, and check-in was efficient and relaxed. Every staff member we came across was friendly, polite and made great efforts to make us feel welcome.
We started our evening with a drink in the in the relaxing bar where the barman made us all delicious cocktails.
We had a fun evening with friends and enjoyed dinner in the elegant dining room, The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard with exceptional menu choices from the Al a carte menu beautifully presented with generous portions.
Our stunning bedroom had deep scarlet decorative wallpaper and was very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the spacious walk-in rainfall shower, it felt so luxurious as did the shower products. The room was well appointed with a Illy coffee machine, TV and radio, slippers, pristine white thick fluffy towels and robes. I think it was probably the best comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in with sumptuous bedding and a feeling of calm and quiet. It even had a black out blind and we heard no noise from outside with excellent double glazing.
The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the glass-roofed Orangery, again another stunning space with lots of light and many different healthy and delicious options for breakfast. I heard they serve afternoon tea in this room and would certainly like to return to experience that.
A big thank you to all the staff and management that made us so feel so special. We look forward to returning and would highly recommend this special hotel.

We had the most wonderful weekend staying in this exquisite new hotel in London. The food was superb in the restaurant and at breakfast, the room was exceptional, a seating area, dressing room, bathroom big enough for a cocktail party - all quite expertly and beautifully decorated and equipped. Did I mention the cocktails? Yes the bar was exceptional too.
Possibly the best part of the experience was the staff, they were all so very nice, they had time to treat us like we were welcome guests rather than paying customers, they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy, but in a subtle and discreet way.
The location is perfect too, just a few mins walk from Liverpool Street station, across the road from the City boundary and the delightful Spitalfields Market is an interesting short stroll away.
This is a new small gem of a hotel in London, we are so pleased our travel agent recommended we try it - we'll be back, it's perfect for busines or leisure.

I stayed one night catching up with friends in London. What a stylish hotel! Staff were warm and friendly, the food is excellent as are the cocktails in the bar with fun bar staff. Chic decor and a very cosy bedroom with lots of amenities. Had a fantastic sleep on the exceptionally comfortable bed and the bedsheets were divine, so soft. The bathroom has high end full size toiletries and soft fluffy towels. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options. Was sorry it was only a one night stay, can’t wait to return soon! Love the location in the city. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent stay at the Sun Street Hotel. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The shower was also very nice and provided soaps/toiletries were lovely. The room is small but had plenty of built in storage so it did not feel cramped for two people. It is excellently located near plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping, and is close to multiple underground stations.

The temperature controls in the room (a bit fiddly to change), room darkening shades, and a comfortable bed made for a good nights sleep. The only interruptions were caused by the construction site across the road. We’d wait to stay again until construction is finished.

Housekeeping visited a bit more often than we felt necessary, but this is easily solved with the do not disturb sign.

We did not eat here but enjoyed the cozy bar. Service was good but the bar could be a tad bit cleaner (glassware and bar top).

Overall a very nice stay and we would happily return the next time we are in London.

I now have a favorite hotel in London! This is SUCH a gorgeous boutique hotel. The decor is a beautiful combination of Victorian, whimsical dark library, & a few elements of Art Deco & Art Nouveau. The public lounge areas are covered in dark jewel tones, velvet, & brass. The rooms are cushy, comfortable, & have beautiful bathrooms with luxurious, wonderful-smelling toiletries. The food is fresh, delicious, & interesting while still being approachable. The staff is the friendliest & most helpful hotel staff I've encountered in years. I had really lovely interactions with everyone from the restaurant staff, to front desk, to housekeeping. Additionally, this is a central location with easy access to 3 tube stations and within walking distance to shopping, food, pubs (obviously), and sightseeing. It's especially convenient for folks on business, as it's walkable to the Square Mile & Shoreditch. HIGHLY recommended!

First the plus:
1) superb location close to Broadgate, if your business brings you to Broadgate/Liverpool Street this is the place to be, a charming/cosy building/adress/interior in a brutalist environment.
2) bed, one of the bed I ever slept in, firm but not hard, big fluffy pillows and large enough.
3) cosy room with nice, dimmed ambiance, pure English wallpaper and stylish/large bathroom with a real/large shower cabin,
4) breakfast on the ground floor with floods of natural light, not some sort of obscure underground room,
5) small but usable corner in the room to work with a laptop.
and last but not least,
4) superfriendly/helpful staff (reception, breakfast).

Then some minor minuses:
1) I'd preferred a full buffet breakfast instead of having to choose the main in a menu,
2) light switches difficult to use: unmarked, too 'stylish'. Large, lighted push/push switches would have been better and err...
3) the location if you are not on business in London.

So here we have it, I will for sure come back, especially if it is for business.

This is a beautiful-looking and sumptuously decorated boutique hotel. The rooms and public areas are wonderfully designed and full of colour. Aesthetically it’s top notch. Brilliant location too, with The City, Shoreditch and Spitalfields all virtually on your doorstep. However, for the (considerable) price of the rooms, you’d expect breakfast not to be a total shambles. It was though. Mystifyingly bad, with nobody seemingly in proper control of either the food or service. Poor service (in fact NO service) in the cocktail bar either, so us and some other customers just gave up and left. Easy revenue lost. I was also allocated the wrong room at check-in which didn’t match the specific features / grade of the one I’d paid for. To be fair, this was rectified quickly and professionally, but shouldn’t be happening. The fabric of the building and vision for this hotel is wonderful, but they haven’t got the service perfected yet. At these prices they need to.

We were fortunate enough to be one of the first guests to be spoilt at this beautiful little hotel in the heart of the City. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us but the star was Matt whose knowledge of cocktails was encyclopedic and passionate. The ground floor of the Hotel is split into numerous cosy lounges, ideal to relax with a book, pot of tea of glass of fizz and we loved the Orangery where we had breakfast. Dinner was also delicious, particularly my steak from a Josper oven.
Our room was stunning and probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in for a long time with silky smooth linens and big fluffy towels.
We will definitely be back, and just hope it doesn't become too popular!!

Such a lovely stay at Sun Street Hotel. We were gifted a nights stay as part of the Virgin Experience Days voucher and we actually booked on an extra nights stay. We were given a drink on arrival after a long train journey, early check in was accommodated for, the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. Very close to Moorgate station so we found it very easy to get around London. The only negative I would say is that our voucher included breakfast, but we were still charged £10 for 2x coffee's despite this being in the supposedly free breakfast but a minor downfall. We will 100% revisit again.
