I had a good stay, the location is excellent for the nightlife of Soho & Covent Garden, you really are at the epicentre of party central. Knowing this, & having noted that a recent reviewer was troubled by noise, I requested a quiet room, away from the front of the hotel. My allocated room was on a side street & wasn’t blighted by either internal or external noise. The room, a Session Superior, was a decent size, with a funky decor, though I was slightly non- plussed with it, expecting something a bit more dramatic, perhaps the higher category rooms wow more. That said, they are far from run of the mill or generic in design, & the important bits, like super comfy bed & luxury duvets are spot on. It was also nice to have a sliding door onto a small balcony. Bathrooms are sexily & expensively decked out & the bespoke toiletries, divine. A Nespresso machine is provided, as were teabags, but no milk. The Reception team were excellent on pre-stay comms, & provided a friendly & efficient welcome. The entrance to the hotel can be hard to locate, but I’d visited previously to dine at Tattu, so knew the score. This restaurant is separate from the hotel, but occupies the same building, it has phenomenal views & food & service are very good. Chateau Denmark doesn’t have a restaurant & doesn’t offer breakfast, but you’re spoilt for choice on your doorstep for culinary options. A hotel bar called Thirteen is due to open in February 2023. Guests are allocated a butler whilst in residence & mine, Alberto, knocked up a mean Pisco Sour on arrival, but I didn’t seek to utilise his services for anything further.

Hi mrstraveller1, Wow thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you had a good stay and enjoyed all that Chateau Denmark has to offer. I'm sure you'd have been impressed even more by any of our higher category accommodations; this perhaps on your next stay. Thank you for the lovely comment on your BTLR, Alberto was very pleased to hear you loved his Pisco Sour. Until next time, Everyone at Chateau Denmark

The Chateau Denmark is a quirky little hotel in Covent Gardens area of London. Although it's a very busy area, Denmark St is off to the side and is relatively quiet making this a very convenient place to stay... only a short walk to the Tube and. Train at Tottenham Court Road. The people who work the desk were incredibly nice and welcoming. The room was rather small but the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was excellent with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. My only complaint was that there was some sort of music venue in the alley next door to the hotel so several nights there was noise from people leaving. We pulled the heavy curtains in the room and that helped block the noise. There were some comments about the quality of the artwork in the hotel. It is intended to be edgy so if this is not your taste, then stay elsewhere but we thought it added to the character of the hotel and to the uniqueness of the experience. Value for the $$? Maybe a little expensive but what they did, they did well.

We booked Chateau Denmark as we struggled to get our usual hotel, and despite the lack of reviews to get a good feel of the place we're glad we did!

When we pulled up in the taxi all we could see was a plaque and a dark tunnel that became alive with light & music as we went through to reception.
We were assigned Alin as our butler for the weekend, whatever we needed we could contact Alin and he'd get it. Note that if you're an international traveller you'll need to call a UK number to contact him!

The rooms are amazing, especially visually, it's only been open since April 2022 so everything is still new and fresh. The room appears to be sound proofed as they recommended giving the room sound system a go, I didn't get any complaints when I did.
The room bar is impressive but naturally it does come at a cost so be warned. Your butler will make any drinks you want. Check the prices on the TV.
The bed is very comfortable but I did have problems sleeping as our room overlooked Tottenham court road and on a Saturday night it's busy! I'm a light sleeper, which didn't help.

The only restaurant on site serves dinner, so you'll need to find breakfast elsewhere. You're in the heart of London so this shouldn't be a problem.

In summary this is a great place to stay and was unforgettable, the location was perfect, service spot on! Oh and I also bought two bottles of the body wash, it smells really, really good. 😄

The hotel itself is clean and staff very polite. But the issue comes if you book a room
With a balcony. We booked a deluxe room with balcony for a saucy night away and privacy being our main concern this hotel seems to fit the bill but no no no it’s not!

We checked into a deluxe room with balcony and when looking around with the butler (I call them that in very loose terms as they are far from) I opened the balcony door to see a room immediately next to the door and a shared 3 meter balcony. There is no barrier and you immediately look at each others beds.

This shocked me and we spoke to the butler who agreed this wasn’t private and would speak to management. We received a call five minutes later to confirm they wouldn’t allow anyone in the room for the night and we wouldn’t have to worry about our privacy. Still quite alarmed that in a hotel that boasts to be discreet that you would be allowed to see into another room, let alone at the beds directly, I felt better knowing no one would be in there and we could do as we pleased in our own room.

We was here celebrating 25 years together and wanted a private night away from the world in an adult environment which is why we choose this place and happily booked direct to get the best service.

So we carried on celebrating and several hours later I was laying on the bed and felt movement near the balcony and as I peaked my head out I was shocked and outraged to see the rooms occupied with four people taking photos, after mangement assurance no one would be in this room until we checked out.
I obv got quite upset at this point and my husband called the butler who rang management for us to find out wtf ( his words) was going on. We was called back several minutes later to say management was just showing potential guests around and this was some how ok after their assurances.
For the rest of the night I felt on edge and didn’t feel safe or happy to use rhe balcony.
I know it might sound silly but I spent a really long time making sure we had a nice private room with a balcony( I like free air and the ability to get outside whether I am ) to spend quality time with my husband and I didn’t get this.

The way the rooms are set up is very weird imo and almost set up for a swingers hotel. When standing outside and looking up you can see a lot if not all rooms with balconies are attached to the room next door without any sort of barrier of privacy. You can literally walk from room to room with several steps via the balconies.

If that is your thing then I would say the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The drinks available have to be bought by the bottle at roughly three time RRP so can be very pricey. We won’t be returning that’s for sure

Quirky, boutique style Hotel in a great location for shopping, theatres etc.. but our experience meant no sleep at all! Unfortunately our room (115, first floor) had a balcony/window which opened right onto an events/club (HERE at Outernet) which has day & night events so non stop continuous noise & queues right outside. Night events going on after 4am so be prepared for no sleep. Not just noisy from the music but from queues of screaming/shouting people right outside. We were assured on arrival that we wouldn't hear anything from our room and it was quiet but sadly this was the complete opposite. We did raise the issue after our first night and considered checking out but again we were reassured there wouldn't be noise as there wasn't an event on that evening. I suppose we shouldn't have trusted it but we did and yet again another sleepless night as there was a night event that hadn't been advertised! It was a rare birthday treat (escaping 2 children) which sadly left us both exhausted but mainly frustrated that staff weren't truthful or overly bothered with helping us. We also had cigarette smoke coming through our Bathroom Saturday morning apparently from a guest smoking in their room! I had to follow up on this issue as again no-one seemed too bothered about it. Im still waiting for a reply from the manager!
Couple of other things to note the extra service charge is true - you'll be charged unbeknown from the deposit, no kettle/water/milk in rooms. but these are minor issues compared to getting no sleep which in my opinion is one of the main objectives of a good hotel....

Dear Rebecca, We are very sorry to hear your experience at Chateau Denmark was less than perfect. We do pride ourselves on matching the good times with the right ingredients and while our team strive for nothing less than perfection, it appears that on this occasion we fell somewhat short. Regarding the noise - due to our location the wider neighbourhoods can certainly come alive. This is something that we manage where possible and of course do our utmost to circumvent. I know that our Duty Manager has been in touch with yourself and your partner directly following your feedback. We do hope that our paths will cross again, and on that occasion you’ll be able to enjoy Chateau Denmark in the spirit in which it was created. Until then, Everyone at Chateau Denmark,

Visited hotels website before booking, it looked amazing so we were looking forward to staying. Check in was quick and we had our butler take us to our room, which we discovered was up 4 flights of stairs (no lift). We booked a Superior room it was a lot smaller than the pictures make it out to be, also the website states all these rooms have a balcony & it’s shown on the floor plan. Our room didn’t have one, we were told this was do to it being an old building, that’s fine but maybe mention this so guest’s aren’t misled. Also, only a coffee machine in the room, we asked for tea & milk but it never arrived. Don’t have a room at the front as we had music playing until 4.20am, so not a lot of sleep. I think the concept of a butler is no more than other hotels concierge service, which has proved more efficient. Also, something I found strange is the bathrobes & slippers and that there was a cost to use them. Why?? I’ve never had to pay for a bathrobe at any hotel I’ve stayed at. The hotel may be stylish but, their concept is a little off.

Hi Caroline5365, I am pleased to hear that your check-in was smooth despite the overall experience falling short of your expectations. Our butlers aim to deliver exceptional experiences. They are superb mixologists, happy to entertain you in the comfort of our rooms/apartments as well as provide the traditional butler service. All our guests enjoy the complimentary use of bathrobes and slippers and we love it when they take them home. Brand new ones are also available to be purchased as gifts. We understand that our Duty Manager met with you prior to your departure and also reached out separately via email. Please re-connect with us so that we may have the opportunity to make it up to you. Thank you for taking the time to share your highly valued feedback and really hope to welcome you back in the future. Kindly contact us direct when you have a date in mind. Where to start. Upon booking, got an email shortly thereafter asking if we needed anything. Arrival was welcomed by the front desk and our personal Butler, who we had direct access to 24hrs. The rooms are unique, to say the least, but in a great way. Some rooms you have to walk the stairs others have a lift. Each one has a unique design, as we toured 3 of them. If noise is an issue, please make sure to mention that upon arrival, they were very accommodating to me wanting a bit quieter location. Location and price were great for the London area. I highly highly recommend this Boutique Hotel, best suited for couples and business people, not really a family oriented place.

Absolutely amazing! We stay in London regularly as a couple & have stayed in some of the best hotels, always booking suites for the balcony and extra space.

This provides everything we wanted but the service is by far the best we've ever experienced, the staff were all very content & couldn't do enough in terms of ensuring we had a comfortable stay!

Privacy is definitely a top priority for us & the hotel with the lifts being exclusively controlled by room keys.

There is a nightclub nearby, but we slept like babies, the soundproofing is second to none.

This hotel has embraced the local heritage with the rock n roll theme whilst managing to blend it with luxury and high quality service.

Alexis our butler was lovely & couldn't do enough for us, Christian on reception also took the time to find out more about us & also offered to arrange for someone to show us the rest of the apartments for our next visit.

100% recommend & we will be returning very soon!

We used to visit London a lot pre Covid and for years have always stayed at the W Hotel Leicester Square, as we have status with the Marriot Bonvoy program. This trip however we decided to try something new as we’d heard good things about the Chateau Denmark and wanted to try it out.
What an amazing find it was!
1. Location is amazing right in the heart of all our favourite cafes and bars.
2. Service was exceptional, from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the time you leave, everyone goes out of their way to help! And to take it to the next level they have a private butler service to help with anything you need from preparing private drinks to helping with last minute work emergencies
3. Noise & light proof rooms to ensure if you want to stay up late you’re not disturbing anyone else or alternatively sleep in late without being woken by the hustle and bustle of the area
4. Furnishing and Fittings are seriously next level with a combination of art deco and gothic design which felt unique and truly inspired by an amazing creative vision
5. Each apartment is unique and we were lucky enough to get upgraded to one of the top apartments with a seriously impressive sound system which you’d only normally find in a commercial nightclub! And did I mention the rooms are huge
6. This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a unique experience that you just don’t expect to find in London.
We’ve already booked our next stay, as it’s now our new favourite London Hotel

The location is perfect - in the heart of Soho/Covent Garden and with all the theatres on your doorstep.
Rooms are very comfortable but sadly, the hotel is more style than substance. A few basics were missing. It seemed very odd that we were provided with tea bags but no kettle or milk…
The “butler” arrangement falls far short of expectation.
On one day our room was not made up despite us being out for more than 14 hours.
Every time we returned to the hotel we were aggressively questioned by a succession of very intimidating security guards as to where we were going - far from welcoming.
The staff were all very good at sorting issues and the hotel is VERY new so the problems we had may just be teething issues but you can get far, far better service at similar central London locations.

We took onboard the feedback you shared with us on the BTLR service which was shared with the wider team, to ensure we always meet the highest of expectations. Similarly, we shared your feedback with the wider district security management team, and whilst they are not part of the Chateau Denmark, they were very apologetic for the inconvenience caused you.
