We stayed in two rooms this trip; before our trip to Paris and after. On the first leg we had a room on the top floor, lots of stairs as there is no lift but this did not bother us too much as the room was lovely, very modern and comfortable. An iron and ironing board are available in the room ,a hairdryer,a safe, free wifi, and also a kettle for coffee and tea. There is no breakfast supplied in the hotel but a discount is available from a local cafe. Again this did not bother us too much as we bought something from a supermarket to have in our room for breakfast.
On our return from Paris we had a smaller room ( not so many stairs), cozy but very modern and had all the amenities of the first room.
The staff were lovely and extremely friendly and helpful and represent the hotel well.

This hotel was perfect for our needs! Although the room was compact, it was very clean/ modern and very cleverly designed to allow us to live very comfortably for the 5 night stay. Hotel staff were absolutely amazing! Friendly and eager to respond to any requests! Location perfect! Walking distance to shops and Victoria station. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

I have never posted a review about a hotel before. But the appalling experience I have had at the Mornington Hotel in Victoria has compelled me to do so.

Not only did I not get any adequate sleep because of a serious noise problem in the room, with either pipes or the ventilation system. But the rudeness of the staff member whom I spoke to about the issue with the room, was the worst I have ever experienced. She refused to examine the room/noise, and intimated that it was basically my imagination! This is whilst not bothering to actually get off her chair in reception and inspect the issue.

I had an early morning meeting so checked out early, thus not getting a chance to see the manager. But I emailed the management twice and to this day no response. This tells me that they have no respect for their customers and expect to be busy simply because of their central location. Again I am horrified that such conduct exist in the hospitality industry.

There are many other small and much cheaper B&Bs in the area, I wish I saved my money and stayed in one of those!

EDIT #3: The hotel on 06/22 finally responded that they had contacted Expedia about the money that had not yet been refunded, and my credit card company confirmed that a request had come through for the rest. So I hope and trust that this saga has finally come to an end. I'll keep the whole review here just to give people a more comprehensive timeline of events.

EDIT #2 (06/21/2022): It took over a month for the refund to come through (the hotel claims this is due to slow processing via Expedia, which may very well be the case). However, the reason why I've removed a star is that they sent less than what we had agreed on over email would be a fair refund. I was told by my credit card company that Expedia was told the manager was on vacation when they inquired about this. My credit card company requested that I reach out to the hotel once again. They have subsequently ghosted my emails for the past two weeks. At this point it has been over two months since I first requested a partial refund and they agreed to it. Needless to say, their customer service needs some work.

EDIT: After emailing with the hotel, they've partially refunded me for the inconvenience and the night I was in the room while the leak was still active. Also, they did move me my last night to a different room, including moving my luggage to that room while I was out.

My brother and I stayed here for five nights.

The third night after a London-style shower or two during the day, I discovered that my room had a leak in it which had not only soaked part of the carpet and dampened the comforter on the bed but also completely soaked the lid of one of my suitcases. However, the member of staff present that night told me that (1) he could not get a hold of maintenance, (2) he could not move me anywhere because they had no vacancy, and (3) he would leave a note in the morning for the morning staff to contact the hotel's general manager because their immediate manager was on holiday until after we left.

In the end, my experience has shown me that responses to problems during the night will probably not be dealt with until the morning but they will eventually be dealt with.

Given the location of the hotel (pretty strategically located close to Victoria Station) and the price, I can still recommend it for people on a travel budget. But consider these notes as an FYI.

Attached are photos of the water leakage. I'd already sopped up the water on my suitcase lid using a spare towel.

Dear Jean, Thank you kindly for your review. We do apologise that the incident has indeed have caused a minor inconvenience however we are very saddened to see that even after extensive conversations between the hotel and third party agent and the hotel attempting to resolve the manner as soon as possible given the circumstance that refunds take longer to process due to third party booking this was not sufficient to resolve the matter and you do not feel satisfied with a generous compensation we have agreed upon. I can assure that the matter has now been looked into and completed to ensure this does not occur once more. Kind regards, Silvija Operations Manager

I’m going to be honest, the reason for my low review is purely down to the way in which I was treated by one of the staff after staying at the hotel for nearly a week. I had been extending my stay throughout the week and paying the following day without any issues. All the younger staff at reception had been really polite and helpful throughout and would extend my stay without any issue. Prior to 21/11 I had extended my stay a further 2 nights and said that I would be paying in the morning of the next extension day. That morning I get a knock on my room door from the very rude manager telling me I had to leave. When I explained that I had extended my stay he said I had not and that in any event it was cancelled and I had to be out now. I booked an alternative hotel and packed my bag. When I left my key at reception I asked why my booking was cancelled and the manager said there was no booking. I told him he was rude and could have handled the situation better and he told me “well just leave”

Such a shame as the other staff were fantastic and the room was great! Had I not had the issue with the rude manager I would have given a perfect review and 5 stars.

Excellent hotel. We stayed for two nights in room 206 on the front. The room was comfortable and clean with everything you could wish for from iron/ironing board, hairdryer, free safe, slippers, toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits and a fruit bowl with oranges, apples and bananas. Absolutely brilliant breakfast choices and very attentive waitresses. The bonus for us was the hotel was situated very close to the Central Line tube station and the Hyde Park across the road. With Oxford Street and Paddington very close by. All in All Perfect Couple of days. Will definitely go back again very soon

I'd have liked to have a room with windows but it is what it is. Very clean and felt safe in the hotel. Bit disappointed to pay for a double room and only receive two singles pushed together with two single bed sheets and really thin pillows but it is what it is when it comes to 'budget' hotels in London

Booked the economy double which was on the lower ground floor. Room was small but we're only using the room to shower and sleep so it didn't need to be any bigger. Shower was powerful with a rainforest shower head and a hand held attachment too. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Only downside was that there is no restaurant on site due to the hotels size but we were given plenty of recommendations and there is loads nearby. Great spot, very quiet and within walking distance to the main attractions and the tube

First off the place is in a beautiful part of London. Amazing cafes, pubs and street food are all very close. Some major attractions like the Buckingham Palace and Hype Park are within walking distance but you can take the tube as the Pimlico Station is very close as well.

The staff are *very* professional. They do their best to accomodate your needs as best as they can. Very friendly and welcoming as well. The room was very tidy and the bed is quite comfortable. You also get free wi-fi and an en suite bathroom. You only need to give a day-advance notice for housekeeping it will be done.

The cost is very inexpensive all things considered. Will recommend to friends and will definitely stay here again for my next visit.

Hi there. No, not really. I had to keep putting my medium sized suitcase on the bed to open it fully because i wasn't able to open it fully on the floor. It's a cozy enough room assuming you are travelling light. I wasn't really and some of my shopping bags eere were making the room feel smaller.
