I’ll be honest, I was a little apprehensive about staying at a pub with rooms when I first booked. However, with a great location (5 minute walk to Vauxhall tube/rail) and reasonable rates I went ahead with the reservation… and I’m so glad I did! The welcome at check-in was lovely, with Jane offering us a much-needed glass of wine on the house upon arrival. The room was well appointed, very clean and complete with tea/coffee facilities, iron/ironing board and hairdryer. The bathroom looked very new. Slept very well, with no noise from the downstairs pub. Breakfast was a la carte, and the full English was great! We also ate at the pub in the evening and can confirm the food was very tasty, and all the staff very attentive. All in all, a great stay, and would certainly stay here again.

Finding a hotel in central London at a reasonable price these days is a bit of a nightmare, so the Griffin Belle, in Vauxhall, is a very good all round choice.
It's basically a pub with accommodation, so it's not child friendly and doesn't have business facilities, but the rooms are clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms, good wifi, a huge flatscreen TV and, apparently, good isolation because we were never disturbed by any noise from the bar! The decor in the hallways and on the ground floor is quirky to say the least, with flowers all across the walls and ceilings, so it's maybe not to everybody's taste but we absolutely loved it.
The pub on the ground floor is cosy and friendly with a good selection of beers during opening hours and that is where they serve the breakfast for guests until about 11 am. It's a full english breakfast served buffet style and the food is very good, but the kitchen staff weren't too good at replenishing various items, particularly on our second day.
It's only a couple of minutes walk from Nine Elms underground, and a little longer from Vauxhall underground and rail station. The area is safe and interesting with New Covent Garden market and the American Embassy just a few steps away and the vibrant Battersea Power Station complex just down the road. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here, a double room for my husband and myself and a single for my Mother. The hotel is within a short walking distance of Nine Elms underground station so great for travelling around London. Check in was great and complimentary drink on arrival. Hotel above a busy pub and had a really nice atmosphere and served tasty meals. The staff were amazing, special mention to Mark (Manager) and Ebony who were very friendly and helpful. Sorry I didn’t get any other names as all the staff deserved a mention as well. The rooms were small bright and airy and equipped with everything we needed. The rooms were also spotlessly clean with crisp white bed linen and towels. Don’t worry about noise from the bar as the rooms are very quiet and we slept really well. Lots of choice for breakfast and it was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return!

Having just arrived back from our overnight stay I would just like to say how very impressed with the Griffin. We arrived at 8pm and was greeted warmly by the member of staff on duty , we were offered and accepted a complimentary drink from the bar where we also had food which was lovely. The room was clean, lovely fresh white linen and plenty of towels in the bathroom. The decor is very pretty and enhances your stay. We had an app at the American Embassy and this accommodation is ideally situated, just a five minute walk away. Taxi from Kings Cross to The Griffin cost £23 and tube back to Kings Cross wax a grand total of 20p for two of us . A very enjoyable stay, all staff couldn’t do enough for you. We will return!

For the purpose of my stay, the location was outstanding. With many of the larger chain hotels full booked, and this being a very last minute booking (booked 8hrs before arrival) it was nice to be able to utilize a smaller business. Very accomodating upon checkin as they recognized we had a small child and offered us a room with a second bed at no extra charge. The place has lots of character and charm, was super comfortable, the bathrooms very, very clean and breakfast the following morning was on point.

Had no idea the hotel sat atop a busy pub/restaurant (I would have had I checked TA first haha). I knew the hotel had a restaurant, but assumed it would cater mainly to hotel guests... but that is not the case. Arrived with a sleeping child and had to wade through a very loud pub (the noise was not noticeable from our room which was a big plus!). This is not necessarily a bad thing, was just very unexpected. Also, travel lightly... very narrow, steep stair cases.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst at an O2 concert and a general London visit. The hotel is very clean, well presented with clean and comfy beds. The hotel provides a great selection of pub style meals at reasonable prices and also a great selection of drinks from a well stocked bar. The hotel is about 8 minutes walk, via a well lit underpass, from Vauxhall tube station with links all over London. There is a small convenience shop across the road just in case you need extras. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided is either a full english or continental. The only downfall, breakfast bacon does not look or taste like it should! We did try it each morning but still felt like it was not as it should be. Sorry guys

My daughter and I stayed in a twin bedroom with a surprisingly large en-suite shower room. It’s location was perfect for you early morning appointment at the US Embassy. The room was immaculately clean, comfortable beds, lovely en-suite shower room (water pressure wasn’t great but serviceable). On arrival I enjoyed a lovely glass of red on the house - thank you, Mark! The breakfast included in the rate was delicious and best Americano coffee (thanks Patricia). Although above a pub it was quiet. I look forward to coming back in March with my other daughter. One of the nicest hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you!!

When entering the Griffin Belle, warmth, cosiness and friendlyness greats you. We stayed 5 nights and would return tomorrow if possible. The rooms are basic, but very clean with tea and coffee amenities Own bathroom with large shower and super thick towels. No noise from the pub in the room. Breakfast is included and tastes fantastic. At night one can choose from a large variety of marvellous dishes. Everywhere in the pub are large screens put up to watch sports. First drink is on the house! All the staff are all so friendly and sweet. The night porter is there all night so you can go out if you wish. You will always see a smile on his face. A big thank you to Patricia, who even remembered my daughters birthday. When we came down in the morning for breakfast, the table was festive with balloons, confetti and special birthday napkins. We will never forget your kindness Patricia! The Griffin Belle is in the center of London/Vauxhall and just a few steps away from the underground station Nine Elms, great to explore the city.

A good place to stay if you want a change from London Hotels. Would recommend if you want to stay south of the river have easy access to two underground stations and have very regular bus services just round the corner.

A warm welcome was received in the pub and the welcome drink was appreciated after travelling. The room we stayed in was comfortable and of reasonable size with a comfy bed. It was clean and kept that way with daily housekeeping. Breakfast which was included in the price for the room was good and served by friendly and efficient staff. The choice is limited to four meals off the main pub menu so we assumed that if you wanted cereal or juice for eg with the cooked breakfast you would need to pay extra.

We had an overnight stay with the Griffin Belle and were blown away by the warm welcoming staff, in particular the gaffer Mick, who was very accommodating. Free drinks on arrival for guests staying with the hotel, Sunday roast was lovely and breakfast was 1st class, we couldn't quite believe it was included in the price of the room, as you'd pay a lot more in other locations in Central London.
Room was fantastic with huge TV, tea & coffee and a nice bathroom.
Just a short walk from Vauxhall tube station, with lots to do on the doorstep.

Not soundproofed. Perfect for US embassy. Not much else. Try County Hall Premiet Inn.
