I used to use this hostel back when it was under YHA management. I’ve always picked it for its close proximity to Euston and King’s Cross. This is the first time I’ve been back since it changed hands.

Glad to report that the hostel is still as it was. Polite and helpful staff, modern rooms with beds that have individual lights and charging sockets, lockers for valuables, clean and well kept bathrooms, a bar area downstairs to eat and have drinks if you desire.

I stayed in a 6-bed female only dorm and was happy with my stay. Bed was comfortable, my items were safe (locks can be purchased behind the reception for £4), and the sockets can charge multiple devices with the dual USB sockets + a regular 3-pronged socket. Will advise that you turn the main room light off when you want go to sleep as my co-inhibitors left the main light on all night on my last night for some reason.

The one area they could improve on was having another pillow on the beds. Mine was so used that it was mostly flat and made very little difference to my comfort.

I booked to stay here when it was YHA and then was told it had been taken over. I found the standard just as good as when it was YHA- helpful staff, clean room & good spacious lockers. As with all hostels I wish they would give 2 pillows instead of just one - it's not like they're expensive!! I stayed here as it's a good location for the train station and opposite the British Library & its better than the other nearby hostels & cheaper than nearby hotels. I also like that you can now choose to reserve a top or bottom bunk, I stayed in a female dorm and have no complaints. Hope the standard stays as good as it was when it was YHA - and the price!

Great hostel - exceptionally clean facilities, and very attentive staff. Management need to sort out padlock sales at reception (they had run out - v poor show !?) and get a second pillow if you are not used to thin pillows. Breakfast was a little thin - croissants, toast, and filter coffee needed augmenting with some berries (DIY parfaits), healthy smoothies, and ham and cheese.
Spotless rooms, showers, facilities.

AVOID THIS PLACE!! The private room we got for 150 pounds a night was horrible, smelled bed and poorly decorated. It is completely different from what they advertise online. The ceiling was falling apart, the window door was broken and the only storage room is a gym locker! They wouldn't give us a better room or a refund. Moreover, they charge for everything, including the baggage room (never happened to me in all my trips! I do not recommend it

I came in yesterday midday with my partner for coffee and an almond croissant. The blonde/brown man who served us found how I pronounced the word "Almond" as comical. As we were sat waiting for the coffees, we could both overhear him and the woman with him behind counter mocking me for how I said the word still. It was quite difficult not too hear it due their laughing and impersonations. We both felt extremely uncomfortable and my partner was angry as we only wanted to chill with a coffee.

Great rooms. Very kind staff. Elena offered to make me a coffee, which I accepted. Definitely made my morning. Each room has it's own bathroom. The storage lockers are big enough to fill my backpack. All in all, I feel well rested amd will stay here again

Booked when still part of YHA (have life membership).
Very good, arrived late no problem (24/7 reception), lift available, own room very clean, free liquid shampoo and soap in shower, friendly staff, nice view of St Pancras station from the room. Enjoyed it. Recommend it.

We booked under YHA but was informed that there was a change in management to kabannas and all the terms and conditions under YHA would be honoured.

When we arrived we were not told that the ac was spoilt. The room was so hot and the fan was almost pretty useless. The atmosphere in kabannas was nothing like YHA.

The amenities were in very poor conditions. One of the lift was spoilt. The other lift close very quickly and was so dangerous.

Do not stay in this hostel if you can.

This was my first experience of a youth hostel in London and it did not disappoint. I stayed here for one night in February 2006 as it was within easy walking distance of Euston rail station/tube trains and I was attending a concert in south London. I purposefully joined the YHA for this reason and even the cost of a joint membership for me and my companion plus the cost of the night's stay was a bargain compared to most hotels nearby. The reception area was warm and friendly with cosy furnishings and a soft drinks machine. I liked the security and felt it would be a safe haven for single travellers and families alike. Check in was speedy and the desk clerk sold us the tube travel ticket we needed for our evening out which was extremely convenient. Our room was front facing on the fifth floor with a great view of the area. It was a premium room for two with private shower, washbasin and toilet, towels and soap supplied. The bunk beds were comfortable and nicely made up with clean linens of good quality. Plenty of storage space, an armchair, modest TV and a kettle although no cups or spoons - you need to bring your own plus your own coffee and milk etc. The room was well lit, very clean and contained an airconditioning unit. The only thing we didn't like at all was that we could not open the window!!!! Maybe for safety reasons but we would have liked the option. There was a good supply of hot water at all times.
We ate dinner in the hostel restaurant prior to leaving for our concert. It was not particulary cheap and the menu was limited but the food was nicely cooked and the restaurant is spotless with huge windows and a calm atmosphere. We were given vouchers for a free English breakfast when we checked in but never made use of them. I was told by other hostel guests it was good value for money and freshly cooked to order.
The staff we encountered were professional and chatty with a good attitude and plenty of local knowledge, useful tips and gave us a map and some brochures on London sights. It would be an ideal budget base for first time visitors to London. This is not a hotel and there was no telephone in our room which didn't matter to us. There is a computer in the lobby so you could easily catch up on emails. We returned quite late at 11.45pm and felt perfectly safe on the street at that time and were warmly welcomed back inside the hostel having buzzed the desk to gain entry. We slept well and were not disturbed by street noise or other hostel guests. Better than many hotels where it is far too loud in the corridors and you need earplugs!!
All in all I would highly recommend this hostel as good value for money and the location is great for buses and tube trains. For our needs it was perfect.

My sister and I stayed in a 4 person bedroom. I instantly loved this place because it was the first hostel that I had come across that had a lift! The room had plenty of storage and room. It came with a table and 3 chairs. Breakfast was included which was wonderful and they have a restaurant which serves other meals for a price.
Security is good and before entering the place you have to be buzzed in by reception so you know that not anyone can enter the building and wander around.
The British Library is right across the street. Access to the tube and train stations are nearby as well, so it's very convenient for those entering the city as well as those wanting to see the sites.
If traffic bothers you, then this may not be the place for you but you really don't seem to notice it after a bit or bring earplugs to help block out the noise.

Hi Eduardo C. I stayed here in a private room for 4 with ensuite facilities. There were 2 sets of bunkbeds and wardrobe compartments for each guest. In the room, there was a basin with mirror and then a separate, lockable shower room and a separate, lockable toilet with basin. It's basic but great. Very clean and fantastic location. Hope that helps.

No, there is no age limit, but some hostels require YHA membership and for most (if not all) you pay more if you are not a member. You can also book family rooms in a lot of hostels.
