Stayed for 2 nights mid July & booked through Secret Escapes.
The hotel is in an excellent location, 2 mins walk from Tower Hill tube station and 5 mins walk from The Tower & Tower Bridge.
We arrived late morning as we do regularly when staying in London & asked if we could check in straight away if the room was ready. We were advised that if we wanted to check in before 14:00 then there would be a £30 charge!
No thanks! This is the only hotel we have stayed in that have not allowed us to check in early without charge. It’s not as if the hotels are full in this current climate!

The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, rooms are well appointed, beds comfy and bathroom nice and modern with a decent shower.
The bar/restaurant area is very nice and breakfast is served there.
It is a full English buffet with somebody loading your plate for you which is common in Covid times. The quality of the eggs, bacon, sausages etc were very good.

All staff we encountered at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

The only other negative is that there was no room cleaning done whilst we were here, apparently due to Covid so our room was not cleaned, made up or tea/coffee etc not replenished. Personally I find Covid a lame excuse for not having somebody clean an empty room as I would think it is even more essential to have increased cleaning in these times, not less.

Dear Happy Hammer10, Thank you for your review and feedback which is gratefully received. I'm sorry we were unable to provide you with an early check in, sadly as not all floors of the hotel are open we don't always have rooms ready in the morning for arrivals. I hope like with any of our guests arriving before check in we were able to store your luggage free of charge enabling you to continue with your day. We do offer room cleaning and provision of any additional items required upon request each day, we do try to cover this at check-in and the welcome letter in the bedroom advises of this also my apologies if this communication did not reach you. I thank you for your positive comments about the team, breakfast and the hotel, we hope to be able to welcome you back again soon to the Novotel London Tower Bridge hotel. Kind Regards, David Hayden General Manager

We stayed at the Novotel Tower Bridge as a family of four which included our sons age 6 and 12.
We traveled by train and used the tube from Euston to literally outside the hotel in about 15 mins. All
The staff are friendly and welcoming: in the bar, reception, breakfast buffet and cleaning staff. We had a family room which had a comfortable kings size bed and large sofa bed. The room has a mini fridge and included bottled water which was replenished each day. We had breakfast included with our stay being excellent quality and plenty of choice, staff are constantly checking buffet items and bringing out more juice, hot items etc as needed.
The location is fantastic just across the road from the Tower of London, ideal location if you want to take one of the tour buses or use the tube. The area itself being in the financial district is also easily accessible for taxis it feels safe at night, with bars and restaurants nearby, we had no problems with noise and the window to our room did open and had a safety wire attached. The bathroom is large and modern and towels and toiletries were replaced as and when required. We used the bar for drinks and our children had food there one night which was extremely reasonable in price especially for a hotel was hot and fresh. The staff in the bar/restaurant were particularly good with our boys.
We will definitely book the Novotel again when we next visit London and will recommend to family and friends

Me and my husband have just returned from a stay here and found it very enjoyable. The location is fantastic; around the corner from the Tower of London and with 2 tube stations within approx 5-7 minutes walk (Tower Hill and Aldgate). There are also plenty of nice pubs and restaurants around too.

We stayed in an executive room on the 6th floor. We had read previous reviews so were aware of the open plan bathroom and had no issue with it. The room was large and clean with a comfy bed and hot shower.

We had a problem when we had used the WhatsApp service to request our room be cleaned one day and were told it would be done only to return to find it hadn’t. The hotel staff were very apologetic and this was resolved the following day to our satisfaction.

The only negative I found was the cardboard cups provided for hot drinks. I really didn’t like these because after you used them once it was not possible to reuse them so found we had to keep asking for more. I’m sure this policy will have something to do with COVID but I can’t see why normal mugs couldn’t be provided so we could reuse them. After all it is only us drinking from them.

Apart from that though, everything was great and I would recommend the hotel.

Very friendly reception staff. Asked for more towels and for the sofa bed to be put away and both requests dealt with efeciently within 30 minutes.
The room was ok, very basic and the toilet unfortunately wasn't that clean upon arrival. No views, just the side of an office building. It was an amazing price though for 2 nights in central London and has 2 tubes stations literally a few minutes walk away. The area the hotel is situated in feels very safe and clean with the tower of London a few minutes walk away and literally can be seen when standing by the side of the hotel. Tower bridge and St Katherine's dock are also moments away on foot so ideal if this is the part of London you wish to see. When you have seen this area, hop on the tube and explore another area as we did.
The hotel restaurant was quite slow when just ordering a drink on both evenings of our stay, the staff did apologise and were friendly so it wasn't a problem. For the price and the location, it was definitely worth it.

Stayed here for three nights.

We received a very warm welcome at check-in so nice to see a friendly smile.
Staff were exceptional nothing was to much trouble and were also friendly, room was very clean and comfortable. the hotel location was great with tube connection 2 minutes away, breakfast was served from a counter which in normal circumstances would be a buffet but plenty of choice and very tasty. Used the bar and restaurant had some lovely meals clean and good service food very nice throughout all courses arrived hot and together so no one had to wait, portions were good and good value for money, from our room we could see the Tower of London which was a few minutes walk. Can really recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to book again.

Would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay that extra bit special.

This is a really accommodating hotel with genuinely lovely staff. I emailed the hotel in advance to ask if there were any Birthday packages (balloons etc) that could be purchased at an additional cost, and they left a complimentary card, balloon and slice of cake. This was a really special touch and sets this hotel apart from others. Complimentary tea making facilities and bottled water are provided. They even put the milk in the fridge so it is nice and cold. The fridges are much cooler than you find in other hotels, which is a bonus.
The room itself was huge, often in London, you find that you are charged a premium for a small space, but that was not a problem here. The only reason I marked this 4 rather than 5 is because there was pen marks on the sofa cushions and stains on the carpet and skirting boards. Just replacing the cushion would make a difference.
The breakfast in particular was fantastic. Everything you could possibly want! Freshly squeezed juice, coffee, a selection of teas, hot chocolate. There was a choice in breads and baked goods. There was a huge juice in little jam jars. It was replenished often and was plentiful. The area that breakfast is served doesn't feel like a school cafeteria as breakfast buffet rooms sometimes can, it was very relaxed and a lovely way to start the day.
We arrived at 2.15 and asked whether we could leave our luggage at reception and head to the bar, and the receptionist alerted us that our room was already ready and we were welcome to go up, this was a pleasant start to our trip.
Overall, I would have no hesitation to book this hotel again. The room was spacious, the staff friendly, the breakfast plentiful, and the location superb! For £7 pp you can get an Uber Boat from Tower Pier (5 minute walk away) to Embankment Pier which is a 10 minute walk from Leicster Square. Likewise, the Tower Hill tube to Embankmant is a reliable and frequent service.

I recently stayed at the Novotel London Tower Bridge for 10 days.

The hotel itself is good, great location etc. Staff are friendly.

But I have to complain about the lack of room cleaning we received during our stay.

Upon arrival, we were informed that due to the ongoing Covid situation, the room would only be cleaned when requested. This was understandable and not an issue. We were asked if we required a room clean or any other assistance, to WhatsApp the number provided, again not an issue. We thought it was actually a good solution, rather than having to go down to the front desk all the time.

We requested a room clean on day 3 and also advised what time we would be out of the room. This room was cleaned as requested. Great...

We requested a room clean on day 6, again advising that we would be out of the room for a few hours. We returned from our day out to find our room not cleaned. Things get missed, we understand that and messaged to ask if we could have some clean towels and toilet paper and for the room to be cleaned the next day. The towels and toilet paper were delivered to the room, but yet again the room was not cleaned (day 7).

On the morning of day 8, I messaged again to ask for a room clean as it still hadn't been done. The hotel staff apologised and said they would inform housekeeping. Again we were out for most of the day, upon our return however, we found the room still not cleaned.

I messaged again on the evening of day 8 to state that the room still had not been done despite asking for 3 days. I was informed that due to Covid, the hotel only provides a house keeping service on request. I was also informed that housekeeping were on their way to service the room. We left the room for an hour or so to allow housekeeping to enter the room and to avoid contact with us. Housekeeping did come on this occasion, but all they did was put some towels on the bed and supply more toilet paper.

On day 9, thinking maybe the staff that answered the WhatsApp messages were possibly not in the hotel, on the way to breakfast I approached the front desk and asked them for a room clean. I was informed that the room would be done later that morning. But again it was not.

I understand during Covid, things are a bit different, but having to chase and chase staff for a room clean everyday and it still not being done for 7 days, to me is simply unacceptable. You would think during this pandemic, having a clean environment would be a priority?

In fact, the W.H.O./UK Gov advice is that housekeeping should be a priority and even state "Anywhere guests can voluntarily forego housekeeping services should be suspended in the service of maximizing health and safety of hotel staff and guests alike."

We are regular visitors to the Accor group of hotels, mainly in the UK and Dubai (albeit booked via British Airways / Travelscape LLC) and normally your service is very good, but if this the current standard we expect, we will have no alternative to seek alternative accomodation in the future...

We booked this hotel as we were visiting the Tower of London as part of our trip. We arrived way before check in but the staff were excellent and stored our luggage to allow us to explore the city on our first day. We added breakfast to our room which was £12pppn and our daughter was free. Good selection of choices at breakfast both hot and cold and it set you up for the day to explore London.

The room was more spacious than we expected for a hotel in London, the door design for the bathroom is some great thinking design. The glass in the shower was a great delight to our daughter. Large comfortable bed with 2 pillows each which is a rare thing these days in hotels. We had requested a tower view if possible but that hadn't been available but it didn't dampen our spirits. The windows are well glazed as the London street crews didn't wake us at all ans the air conditioning worked a treat. The small fridge in the room was the only disappointment as it didn't chill anything let alone make it cold.

We had lunch in the restaurant one day which was delicious and there is a promotion at the moment during 12-3pm. There is a small play park just next to the tube station if you are travelling with children to just give them a little basic fun. Unfortunately the tube flooded on our first night which made the journey back quite a walk from bank station after a long day in the city but that couldn't be helped and certainly wasn't the hotel's fault. If this happens taxi's aren't too expensive though, we were £12 from Drury Lane from the theatre and only £9 to Liverpool Street station to catch the train home.

We'd recommend this hotel and definitely intend to stay again in the future. This was the first time we've stayed at a Novotel and it was a great first impression to the group.

Stayed here last weekend (24th, 25th, 26th September)
Absolutely fantastic hotel and really good staff.
Room was clean and very modern, bathroom and shower was clean and well presented with fresh towels and complimentary hair, body and soap products.
Meal in Keepers was fantastic value for money, both had burger and chips with a started of calamari and lived every bite.
Loved the acoustic guitarist that played in day night.
Breakfast every morning was so so good and a very good selection of hot and cold items.

Great view of Tower Bridge from our room which was a nice bonus.

Location of the hotel was a massive bonus, round the corner from Tower Hill on the tube and Tower Gateway for the DLR.

Overall a brilliant stay and highly recommend for anyone looking for a London get away.
