We had the Tower Suite and had an amazing view of the London Bridge and the Tower of London, massive room with good facilities. Easy access to the underground and then surrounding areas are all within easy reach. The suite was in my wife's view "amazing" for our honeymoon.

We were early upon check in where we waited for our room to be ready which we didn't mind as again we were early. Once our room was ready we were asked why we were visiting. We we're honest and I mentioned I was here for some treatment at a near by hospital. We we're asked if it was ok to wait for a short time in the Executive Lounge and a staff member would shortly come over and inform us when our room was ready. We had no issue with this as again we were still early for check in and having worked in the hotel trade I know how hard all staff work. After a short time in the Executive Lounge a manager came to us with our room key and informed us we were given a free upgrade from an Executive Room to an A King Atrium Suite. We also got some lovely huge cookies which went down very well and free Breakfast upgrade as well. Honestly if you can get one of these rooms it's well worth it. Lovely living area and seating dinner table and chairs. We had a bath and a shower and a view over looking the hotel lobby area. The room was huge we had room 325 and I would recommend this room if you can get it. All staff we have encountered are friendly professional and make you feel very welcome. All rooms are clean and fully Covid safe. The breakfast had alot of choice and kept us going which made for a great start. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to visit Tower Bridge. Should we need to travel this way again we would use this hotel again. Had a great stay made better by the hard working staff.

We returned for 3 nights in November after visiting in August, the rooms are now being cleaned and replenished on a daily basis unlike in August. The check in is now a lot more hectic, it looks like nobody is being allowed to access their room prior to 3pm whether its ready or not, the luggage is left in the breakfast room and there is so much luggage being stored that the staff have to ask you to recognise yours. The food being served in the Executive lounge between 6 to 8 pm is much better than August , disappointing that Sky sports no longer available in the rooms as pre covid. Getting better but still more to do to reach pre March 2020

Overall, the service was lacking, the room was okay, and the hotel was generally unable to cope with the volume of customers that they had. Room - pleasant enough, relatively basic but comfortable and had everything we need. We were disappointed that the window in the room was ‘blown’ meaning that we couldn’t see out at all. It looked like condensation between the glazing (room 1035). Exec lounge - great selection of canapés and alcoholic drinks (wines and beer) between 6pm-8pm. It is a bit soulless though and could do with some low level music in the evenings. The staff were friendly enough. Breakfast - a disaster. A huge queue to get into breakfast, and then 20+ queuing for hot food. The staff couldn’t keep up with the numbers. The service was poor, and we didn’t end up eating anything hot. Check-in - there were 20+ people queuing to check-in and only 3 of the 5-6 check-in places staffed. Another example of the hotel just not coping with the volume of guests. We’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed . There was no acknowledgement of our Diamond Hhonors status (no upgraded room etc.) and then hotel generally can’t cope with the volume of guests at busy weekends. It is incredible to think that when the hotel is at its busiest - and the service at its worst - the rooms are at their most expensive. My advice would be to avoid any busy weekend and book elsewhere, or save your money and book a Premier Inn and pay for breakfast somewhere decent.

We stayed on Friday 26th November and to be honest I was rather concerned reading the reviews. I can say hand in heart what a wonderful hotel the reception staff are friendly and very welcoming. We had an issue with our room and it was sorted out in no time. Our room was on the 12th floor an executive room with a spectacular view of the shard and the London skyline from our window. The executive lounge is amazing free food & drinks from 6till 8 I must mention Hati a lovely lady who just keep replenishing drinks and food. The hotel is so central to the shard. Tower bridge and many more London sights. I highly recommend a stay. The breakfast is plentiful lots of choice. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. An extra thank you to Sara . We will definitely be returning in 2022
