The Pelham is an elegant boutique hotel in the heart of South Kensington. It is located a short walk from Kensington Gardens, the inspiration for the eclectic, brightly colored design of its interiors. It's clear why The Pelham has long been regarded as one of London's most sophisticated hotels. It has the aristocratic atmosphere of a London townhouse, its interiors are a romantic mix of elegant patterns and rich tones, complemented by the warm welcome and flawless service of a noble residence. The wood-panelled drawing room and library are wonderful places to relax, surrounded by archetypally English cabinet work. The hotel offers guests a wonderful opportunity to spoil themselves with an indulgent afternoon tea, or to enjoy some of the exquisite dishes prepared by Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo at the Trattoria. South Kensington is home to a fascinating world of boutiques and internationally famous museums. The Pelham is just 15 minutes from the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum's arts and craft collections, and not far from Harrods, Hyde Park and The Royal Albert Hall. All of The Pelham’s 52 bedrooms and suites have their own style, expressed through a unique design with an evocative mix of antique and modern furniture, paintings and precious fabrics. La Trattoria by Alfredo welcomes you at any time of day for a delicious breakfast, light lunch, special Vintage Afternoon Tea or elegant dinner. The restaurant serves traditional-chic Italian food created with the distinctive flair of Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo. For events and meetings - both business and private - The Pelham offers two bright, elegant conference rooms hosting up to 45 people, plus a private dining room, drawing room and library, available for private gatherings. From Les Clefs d’Or Concierge and 24-hour room service to Wi-Fi connectivity and the tranquil library, all the hotel's facilities are selected and personalized to offer a wonderful stay in unforgettable comfort.

After much searching for the perfect place to stay in London, my sister helped me find the Pelham in South Kensington. It was a fantastic choice! The communication from the hotel before our arrival was extremely helpful! They were able to arrange transportation to and from the airport and after a long (direct) flight from Phoenix, the driver with our name on a board in the arrival hall was a great sight! Only about 30 minutes from Heathrow, the hotel is situated in a lovely and safe neighborhood. Thomas, the bellman/concierge was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. He always called us by name and was anxious to serve our every need. Thank you Thomas! You were great!

We were on their 1st floor (2nd floor in US) that we could access by elevator or stairs. Our room (an executive double which had a king bed) was a very nice size for a European hotel with a lovely en-suite largish bathroom, nice sized closet, small fridge and storage for folded clothes. The very high ceiling was a great and the bed coverings and window treatments were gorgeously tailored out of exquisite fabric. There was a small table, comfy chair and desk with chair as well as a large tv.

Our room faced Cromwell Place, not a real busy street, but there were buses and trucks. The window were large but we NEVER heard street noise, which was great & totally amazing! The front desk is staffed 24/7 and there is a lovely library where one could sit and read or enjoy a drink. They offer a full English breakfast (not included), which we did not try, but I would expect it to be very good. They also have an Italian restaurant on the lower level that we also did not try. I believe they offer room service for extended hours. There is another lovely, cozy room off the lobby where they have an honor bar. The place is beautifully appointed, making it very inviting to come back to the hotel.

The tube station is right across the street with three different train lines and excellent signage-easy to read & figure out. There are many excellent restaurants in the area, all walking distance. We enjoyed Thai food, Indian food, Lebanese food, Georgian food, and of course The Hoop & Toy pub fare across from the hotel!

The hotel was quiet and the other guests were friendly. The front desk staff was very accommodating. Before arrival a member of the concierge staff was able to make a hair salon appointment for me at a nearby, walkable, salon.

Our experience there was fantastic. I would recommend it highly! And when we return, we will definitely stay there again!

I have been lucky enough to stay at The Pelham Hotel a number of times recently both with my family and on my own. The hotel itself combines beauty and elegance with a really cosy, warm and homely feel. Every room I stayed in including the exquisite mews room which is perfect for a family visit are beautiful, incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean and wonderful attention to all the details that make your stay out of the ordinary. I cannot praise highly enough Luca and the fantastic team of staff who are so welcoming, attentive and go to every length to make our time at the Pelham so incredibly special. I have stayed in many hotels in the world and never have I received such warm and personal attention. I have loved my visits to The Pelham and won’t consider staying anywhere else in London going forwards. Management of COVID is very efficiently managed with sanitiser stations throughout the hotel. Location is fantastic, close to shops, public transport links, museums and wonderful restaurants nearby. Hyde Park is close by for walks. This said the hotel is incredibly quiet and a real oasis to come back to after a busy day. Breakfasts are so delicious and delivered promptly by room service or eaten in the cosy dining room. I cannot recommend The Pelham Hotel highly enough! Beauty, home from home and the most accommodating and fantastic staff to welcome you. I can’t wait to return!

As a Birthday gift to myself, my sister and I arrived on January 12,,2020 (the day of my birthday!!) and after flying for nearly 10 hours we arrived safely. Our excitment of being there completely masked our exhaustion!! From the moment we walked in the lobby we knew that we were going to enjoy our stay here.
The staff was the most friendliest and welcoming that I have experienced in years. I travel extensively).
I told them that I was celebrating my birthday and that I would love to have a little "Tea Party" that evening!
Later that afternoon, they provided me the most exquisite tea party in a wonderful reading room complete with fireplace!! My sister and I had the best time chatting, reminiscing, relaxing sipping tea and eating a delicious array of
hors d'oeuvres and pastries that evening.

The location of The Pelham was very well populated with the "hustle and bustle" of many people going to and fro!. I love this and felt safe! The shops were plentiful and transportation (we were across the street from the "underground" transportation system) was great! We did call Uber several time and never waited more that 7 minutes for them to arrive!
During our entire stay, the customer service, the cleanliness of rooms, the attentiveness, the food in the restaurant, even welcoming us back in the evening after touring all day and having our bed turned down was absolutely more that amazing!

Thank you to Mr Ioan, the Night Manager and Mr Antonio ( I only remember these two names) for your excellent service

It was a lovely boutique, full service hotel that is way over 100 years old. The staff was friendly, gracious, and accommodating. For example I needed a taxi at 8:05 AM to catch 2 tours. It was there waiting for me. There was a door man who brought you luggage to the room The location was excellent location near a subway, shopping, restaurants and pubs. We ate dinner there once and breakfast every morning ( included in price-Costco package) the breakfast staff was very prompt. You ordered from a menu. The hotel had two large sitting rooms, a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. There was original art everywhere that was an eclectic blend.

The only thing wrong was that our original room was very small and awkwardly shaped. Probably because it was so old when they turned it into a hotel there were some awkward rooms Almost no room to put suitcases. And to get into bathroom it required 2 stairs, one down, one up. I was afraid I would trip in the night! I blamed that on Costco because I’m sure they were trying to get the best deal. I mentioned my displeasure to the staff and I was able to upgrade to a larger room that was a rectangle and it was only $20 more a month. I suggest calling/ texting hotel for an upgrade. We will definitely stay there again b

I stayed with my mum at the Pelham during August and September. The hotel staff went above and beyond what was required to make us comfortable and happy. Adella made sure our rooms were up to expectations and accommodated my mum in another room as she has very fond memories of a particular room with my late father.

Tom in concierge what can I say, he was always there for us. Always smiling and happy to help. Making Dinner bookings checking we got there safely, sorting the heated towel rails in the room, fixing our TV and always checking if there was anything else he could help with. A real asset to the hotel. What more could you ask for.

I mentioned to Eleonora hotel manager that I love my sport, and let’s just say my sports channels were sorted. I can’t remember everyone else’s names who made our trip to London so memorable, but I could not recommend the hotel more highly for a stay in London. Thanks again to everyone for looking after else!!

The Pelham in a busy part of Kensington, a townhouse in Cromwell Place, it does not have a sweeping forecourt or a grand entrance but once you step over the threshold it becomes special. It has retained the glamour of its origins which gives it character and the staff are exceptionally welcoming, helpful and friendly.

It is much like staying in a property off the Seine in Paris, small, with small rooms but everything functions for the purpose of a busy visit to the Capital City. You can return to the property knowing you can put your head down and get a good night's sleep, or sit quietly in the lounge and catch up with your plans. You can even work at the desk in the room.

You cannot ignore the elephant in the room, the cost. Given its charm, amenities, excellent staff and location you can pocket a £400-500 a night savings over other Knightsbridge offerings knowing you will still have a satisfying, sophisticated quality experience.

We spent 2 nights at the Pelham and have rarely felt as comfortable in a London hotel as we did here. From the warmth of the check in experience and throughout each contact we had with staff, we felt their commitment to us as individuals. The hotel itself is attractive and sufficiently small to feel like an upmarket private residence. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in the restaurant, where the service was personal, friendly and highly efficient. Evening drinks in the lounge were relaxed in a really comfortable setting. To top it all, the location is perfect for transport with bus stops on the doorstep and South Kensington tube just across the road. The museums are just round the corner.

Located few steps away from South Kensington Underground Station and with a bus stop right in front of the entrance, this hotel is ideal for spending a weekend in London. I had been there many years ago, but now that it has been acquired by the Star Hotels chain, it has always remained a welcoming and particular hotel, the rooms small, welcoming and equipped with all comforts. The breakfast is really good. But more important than all : the silence. Neither the traffic nor Hurricane Dennis, which hit London in the night, disturbed sleep.

I found this boutique hotel online and booked it sight unseen since the general area (South Kensington near the V & A) was familiar to me. What I didn’t anticipate was the Old World flavor of the public areas and the exquisite hospitality of the staff, so very professional, accommodating and discreet. There is a definite Italian air to this hotel, and this made our stay so much more interesting. I cannot overemphasize how welcoming and thoughtful the staff were during our visit. It is a place which adds to the magic of the streets of London.

I am a huge Kit Kemp fan so when I saw she'd had a hand in the decor I decided to give it a go. I rang a week early and explained that we would be arriving around 7am and asked could I pay for half a day for an early check in but this wasn't possible due to the hotel being full. I was told however they were excellent at accomodating early arrivals!!! We arrived at 8am and there was noone to help woith our luggage and were told to come back by 12pm as checkout was 11am. We were told we'd have a beautiful room on the first floor with big windows looking to the front street with triple glazing. We got back a little early as it was pouring with rain and we'd already been going for around 28hours! Surprise - the room wasn't ready as the guests had been given a late check out!! The hotel is full again so why??? At 1pm I was starting to lose patience as no one seemed to know what was happening or if the room was even being cleaned! They said another room was available and I was so exhausted I said yes. It had a standard rollaway for a 10 year old for our 178cm 27year old daughter - we'd paid a huge amount extra for a triple room! The room was like a room at grandma's in pale blue with a dirty marked headboard and a tiny bathroom with a cracked basin, broken tap and showerhead!! No VIP or GHD hairdryer or restaurant as per the website either! The furniture and lighting was a mish mash, not interesting and eclectic and looked as it some had been picked up at a garage sale! The water barely gets hot for a bath. The bed was a joined twin not a king, although comfy. Just all very bland and dated. I didn't complain as it was our daughters first visit to London and I wanted it to be fun. The hotel is in a great spot and the staff are lovely but totally disa[pointing and underwhelming for the price.
