Check in was easy and we were met by a very friendly man called Owen. We arrived early and so our room wasn’t ready, we had asked for a quiet room and so they had placed us at the back of the hotel but we were eager to check in and so he let us look at another room that was available at the front.

The room was clean and tidy, quiet small but perfect for two people. Unfortunately the safe was not working and the room was quite warm and even after a lot of fiddling, we didn’t know how to turn the air conditioning on, however, we felt it wasn’t too big an issue to bother the receptionist again though after he’d been so helpful in getting us checked in early.
The bathroom was very clean with shower gel, hand wash, shampoo/conditioner provided as well as two towels, there was no shower cap and so we asked for a couple of extra towels which were happily provided.

Breakfast was brilliant! Juice, water, coffee and tea as well as a selection of breads, pastries, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, and cereals. The two working in there were friendly and extremely hard working. We were able to get a table both mornings even though it was quite busy.

The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the underground (2 mins walk) and a bus stop right outside the hotel going into central London. Plenty of handy shops locally including: Waitrose, Tesco express, Boots and coffee shops.

Checkout was easy dropping your key in a box and your room bill was emailed to you the night before you left.

Best of all staff at this hotel are superb and can’t do enough for you. I was there with my 11 year old daughter and felt completely safe and well looked after. We will be back!

My friend and I were looking for a nice hotel where we could easily access the tube and be in walking distance of places to see, eat, etc. IBIS met all our expectations - friendly check in, helpful too as although room was not ready, we could leave bags there and head off to sight see. Room was clean, neat and modern. USB ports next to bed to charge phones, etc, good tv channel selections while resting tired feet😀 Breakfast is not 5 star, but exactly what you need to be in and out to get to see the sights - great little fresh croissants, coffee, cereal, toast and fruit - just the basics to keep you going while out. The tube is a 3 min walk away and area in which hotel is clean and surrounded by other known hotels. Little restaurants all close by and the usual chain stores close too in case you needed something. Enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure! Thank you!

I was determined to remove a point from the review for my experience with the booking hotline, which didn't answer my question, but started a lengthy and expensive process to get all my details and not emailing me or calling me back after the call was suddenly disconnected. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely, with very friendly and helpful staff and a perfectly clean and comfortable room. I had paid for the Works, but the little bit extra money was absolutely worth it. It was odd though that the staff prepared a separate sofa bed with a duvet and pillows for our 10 months old baby??!! The room was otherwise quite safe for the baby to crawl around with our supervision. The breakfast was really good, served on a tray with a nice variety and fresh coffee, and we could eat it all in the breakfast room. The lady serving the breakfast was super nice and helpful. In sum, it was a great stay and I have decided to give all five points after all ;)

What more could you want in a tourist hotel? Yes, rooms are small, but the design is very smart. This Ibis's design makes use of every square inch of space. Plugs everywhere, good lighting, comfortable bedding, big screen TV, safe, kettle, and a rain shower and hand held in a very modern bathroom. The breakfast room is very good as well. Staff, Mina especially, was a wonder. She keeps things stocked and is very friendly and helpful. We were met for our early checkin and were able to get into our room by 9:00 AM. After a very long day, this was appreciated. We took the Picadilly Underground line to the Gloucester Road stop, walked across the street and then 1/2 block up...there was this hotel. Just outside is a bus stop, too. The Big Bus for touring is across the street as well. If you want a great room that is well priced and centrally located, you won't be disappointed here.

Stayed here for 3 nights visiting London for work and it was great. Fab location, a 2 minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station. The room was relatively small but no smaller than expected - it was clean, airy and had plenty storage. Staff were on site 24/7 and as a young female staying alone, I never once felt unsafe.

The only downside for me was breakfast - a great array of options for most but as someone who follows a vegan diet, there was only really toast with jam, some fruit or corn flakes to choose from - not quite worth the price.

I would stay here again but perhaps pass on breakfast as plenty supermarkets near by.

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. Glad to hear that you had a pleasant stay and felt safe as a single traveler. However, I'm so sorry that you were disappointed by our breakfast buffet. Did you mention your dietary requirements to anyone from the team? We could have arranged something special for you. I’ve been to London numerous times with children and I have to say, this was the best location of them all. Waitrose across the street, Pizza Express and an Italian restaurant. So handy for a day after activities to have this selection that makes the kids happy.

My son (12) and I were made so welcome at this hotel. Staff were so approachable and all went out of their way to help. Sun Fung in particular was so helpful and made our stay that bit more special. My son talked about her all day after we checked out saying how lovely she was.

Along with the low price, location and customer service, breakfast was included in the price.

I will return.

We stayed for 2 nights over the Platinum Jubilee weekend, so London was pretty much full and the price we paid for the hotel (£249 per room per night) reflected this.

Positives: Fabulous location, with very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Lovely quirky London Underground themed decor throughout, bright and cheerful public spaces and mostly very clean. Breakfast plentiful and served by a cheerful woman who had clearly built up a good relationship with several of the guests, asking them about their holiday so far. Sanjay on reception was relaxed, friendly and professional and made us feel welcome.

Negatives: Only issue was with one of the two rooms we'd booked. Avoid room 823 at all costs: it's in the basement with literally a 6 inch strip of glass at ceiling height as a "window". I think there might be one other room the same as this from looking at the floorplan on the emergency notices. In addition, the mattress was noticeably harder and thinner than the other two rooms we had access to over the weekend. Best described as a dungeon to be honest. The receptionist who checked us in as much as said "you're not going to like this room but we're full and you will need to talk to the manager in the morning!" before we even saw it. They must get so many people complaining about it. Next day we did indeed get a change of room without any hassle at all, but to charge the same as our other far nicer room is pushing things. I really don't think that room should be on sale except with full disclosure and at a discounted rate.

Great customer service - thanks to the receptionist at check in (sadly I can’t remember his name).
The hotel’s location is great with easy access to the tube and also being able to walk to different areas/boroughs in London.
Fairly new, the rooms have a very decent size and a fun design linked to the underground service and different stations in London.

For the price, I will definitely come back when I need to go to work to London or for leisure.

Thanks.

I could find no fault with this hotel. Staff were lovely. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was spotless and very functional, there were shelves for toiletries, fine shower , dual type, shower head at low level and rain effect - Very handy when travelling with children. Breakfast was very good.
