We just completed 12 days here and have used the hotel often. The service provided for our room (Number #436) has been less than desirable in several areas; 1. On one day. Sunday, 1/5/2020, the room was NOT CLEANED AT ALL, after 3 requests were made over an 8 hour period, starting with noon and continuing throught 2 added requests through the phone and via the front desk. The staff indicated something would be done but nothing was done whatsoever. 2. Over the first 2-3 days, we asked for an extra chair in the room to accompany the table and to serve the two people in the room. It took several requests to get that extra chair deliverd. 3. On two separate occasions, an small towell was left missing from the room along with a missing 2nd drinking glass, Replacement requests were made but no replacements were made until the next day. 4. The walkway on the outside of the hotel where the public walkd near the driveway on several days were extremely crowded with people blocking access to the hotel building with luggage, people standing there smoking, etc, etc,. In one case, as I returned to the hotel building, I was almost burned with a cigrarette by a standing individual and I was also almost "spit upon" by one of the indviduals crowding the outside of the building. You have to DO MORE to monior the extenal spaces outside of the hotel to prevent this extremely poor behavior from occurring. A sign or monitoring by your conceierage staff would help to reduce/eliminate this behavior,

Dear Mr. Weeks Thank you for your review. Please accept my sincere apologies for any shortfall in service and standards experienced by you and your wife on this occasion. I am sorry that housekeeping issues were not rectified at the time; this has now been addressed with those concerned, and I am pleased you brought the matter to my attention. Concerning your comments about the hotel drive court and entrance, by the way of explanation, but not as an excuse, one of the duties of the concierge/ doormen team is to monitor the driveway, however, the hotel was unexpected busy in this period, making this chore a little challenging. Please be assured that all matters that you have brought to our attention do concern us, and will be reviewed accordingly as is our paramount provide the highest standard service and products to all our guests here at the hotel. Thank you once more for sharing your comments with us, and I do hope that you will allow us another opportunity to serve you better on a future visit. Yours sincerely, Chris Van Dam General Manager

Received a very warm welcome on arrival by Megumi and further interaction with other staff members through out my stay was excellent - given some wonderful tips on getting around London, which was a big help, intoduced to the City Mapper app.

The hotel itself is spacious and grand looking. Couldn't fault it. Plenty of elevators so no waiting around. Many dining options within the hotel. The room was a decent size, clean and tidy. There were complimentary items - tea/coffee facilities and a fridge in the room (very handy) plus some lovely bathroom items - always a treat.

Shortly after arrival I was offered a heater for my room due to inclemental weather without having to ask, which I appreciated. The king size bed (so comfy) and big screen tv with built in chromcast, were perfect for my netflicking needs.

Location wise, the hotel is right next door to Gloucester Road Tube station and less than a 5 minute walk to the heart of South Kensington and the museum's there.

Would recommend to friends and family

Please ignore the negative reviews, this 4 star hotel is a hidden gem!

After reading the mixed reviews  on Trip advisor I was a bit apprehensive booking this lovely hotel.  We were a party of 5, 3 adults with my teenage daughter and a toddler.  We decided to drive into London and arrived an hour before the 3pm checkin. . The staff at reception were really helpful and informative and it was nice that as guests we were charged £20 as opposed to the £40 advertised on the site. The hotel lobby is impressive with the usual covid secure measures.
Off to our rooms; deluxe triple and deluxe double (which had 2 double beds) which were both spacious, adequate storage, fridge, tea making facilities, comfortable beads and my big ask; clean bathroom with lots of towels! The free WiFi is strong in the rooms and my teenage daughter was especially happy about the large SMART TV and was soon "casting " her favourite YouTube and Netflix programmes from her phone.

The location of the hotel is great especially for a visit to the National history museum,  Science museum, V&A museum or a stroll through Hyde Park.

If you are after entries, you will be spoilt for chose with so many like Nandos, Steak& Co, within 500m of the hotel.
All in all, this hotel is incredible value, the staff really couldn't do enough for you (special thanks to Betty, Aurora and Chris Van Dam ) and I would definitely be returning and recommending to all. For even better rates, I'd suggest you book directly with the hotel😀

The central location of this hotel is its very best feature. The location is impeccable, providing access to numerous places and with enough activity to be lively but not noisy. The Tesco express across from the Gloucester station is also well located so guests can pick up water and snacks cheaply.
It pretty much went downhill from there. Check in took hours and the front desk executives seemed as exasperated as I was and did not provide any reassurance. I was checking in with colleagues but no consideration was given at all and I had to keep hanging for ages. After hours they realized it was a simple mistake and I was allowed to check in. The room was uninspiring and the backdrop did little to enhance it. The toiletries were basic and the cleaning was not done thoroughly enough as the bathroom had grimy features. The room itself felt stuffy and musty. I was really grateful to have lots of meetings and spend all day away and evenings having dinner closely to the hotel.
Breakfast is super busy, you may have to queue to be seated so plan your time accordingly. The doormen who handle the parcels and help guests with taxis deserve special mention! They were so very helpful and supportive and improved my estimation of the hotel significantly.

Dear Abbie, I am very disappointed to read that your stay was not as good as I or yourself would have wished. Please accept my apologies for the delay in check in and the poor housekeeping in the room. Of which I have discussed with the Front of House manager and the Head Housekeeper to resolve the issues you have raised so we can improve the service that we provide to all our guests. I am very pleased that the concierge team worked tireless for you and improved your estimation of the hotel significantly. I do hope I have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future for a far more comfortable and relaxing stay. Yours sincerely Chris Van Dam General Manager

Service is slow , the food served is like for a kid ...during this pandemic situation I believe health and safety is important, but the food served is not enough for an adult it's more likely for a kid .
Secondly the black and white policies that they provide in each room half of the things are not kept or not fulfilled
When we checked in there was no toiletries we requested for it the receptionist mentioned that we will get in some time ...we waited the entire night and there were no toiletries provided a journey of 36 hours and then you have to keep reminding the hotel to provide amenities .
When this is already included in the package I am wondering why wasn't it kept
Apart from that we found a stale bun in one of the drawers when we checked in I was quiet worried whether they sanitized the room before we checked in.
The gov.uk provides a list but then this is not followed by the quarantined hotel
Health and safety is at risk this is my personal opinion and my experience at this hotel
The request are not fulfilled as per the menu this is not we deserve
Also we found a plastic in our food

We have stayed at the Millennium Gloucester a few times over the last few years, but our two night stay in Feb 2020, will take some beating. Had booked for just one night only to unexpectedly leave the Hotel in the early hours to spend the next 20 hours in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. This is where the Hotel really shone, apart from not getting to spend very much time in our delightful room, the Hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, the staff at the Hotel supported our stay making sure that we felt no added pressure with checkouts having to be managed from a Hospital ward.
The wonderful Aurora, managed my requests for late check outs and then extension to our stay with sensitivity and reassurance and then Mo welcomed us back like royalty. Both of these staff members made our challenging visit to London bearable and based on the customer service alone we look forward to visiting again. However just to say the room was great and reasonably priced, parking is under the Hotel, and location is perfect. Would be very hard to top!

We had booked a club room but on check in told that the executive lounge was closed so we had to have breakfast in the main dining room and given vouchers £20 each to spend each day. On discussion with Duty manager he informed us breakfast was included, the vouchers were for the Bar or restaurant as lounge closed. 1st Room 565 had black mold and mildew around the window. Changed room without question (709 - clean room comfortable bed but noisy, no sound proofing) while doing so fire alarm was ringing on and off (16.30) everyone was ignoring it but we were not informed of any checks on booking in.
Used voucher in bar long wait to be served, unable to make some cocktails I don't know why When I gave the barman the vouchers he threw them on the bar shouting that that wasn't enough to cover the drinks I had added up the price and the drinks were less than the valve of the vouchers Had it been more I would have paid the difference. Another guest was laughing and commented that at least it wasn't just her that was being treated like this.
Later that night went to the bar again I stood at the Right hand side of the bar where I had waited earlier Same barman after a good 5 minutes he shouted at he that he didn't serve from that side of the bar I would have to move - no one else was now waiting. He served a man who arrived after me on the right hand side with a drink when i pointed this out he stated he was doing him a favour because he was so busy. I asked to see the duty manager he was again shouting that i had to go to reception to see him .The Duty manager arrived (not the same one as earlier) stating that they were busy and short staffed this is no excuse for poor service.
The next morning a Saturday any chance of a lazy morning in bed with a coffee and papers was dashed as the fire alarm was ringing almost continuously form approx 0915 and 1030 - testing was the one word reply on asking about alarm.
Breakfast was great the first morning everything hot and quickly replenished but had to ask 4 members of staff before someone was able to advise about gluten free options. Next morning everything except hash browns were lukewarm and items not replenished this was 9am so not the end of service.
Hotel lobby was always incredibly busy, crowded and noisy.
All staff we came into contact with during our stay were at best disinterested with the exception of the first duty manager who was courteous and polite

Dear S3070JAtraceyg Thank you for taking the time to post your comments following your recent stay. I am sorry about the inconvenience and disturbance the activation of the fire alarm caused. I appreciate you've come to London for a peaceful stay and this incident would have affected your experience. While it is unfortunate when an alarm is activated, I hope you can appreciate that we must take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all our guests and employees. I appreciate that the sounding on the day went on for a considerable amount of time and this was outside of our control. With regard to the service and conduct of the barman. Thank you for bringing this to my attention as I was unaware of issues in the bar relating to poor service and the behaviour of the barman. Please rest assured disciplinary action will be followed as this behaviour cannot be condoned. I can assure you this is not a regular occurrence in the hotel and hopefully you will come and stay with us again in the near future for a far better and more relaxing stay. Kind regards Chris Van Dam General Manager

For our hotel quarantine, we requested our hotel at LHR but were allocated Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington. There were a few hiccups to start of with but all resolved instantly and the staff were friendly especially the GM Chris who was extremely helpful. We were allocated the Ambassador Suite and this was like a mini-apartment which was lovely. We had two bedrooms + dining room + bath with walk-in shower and toilet + bath with toilet + WC + dressing table area with hair dryer. Robes and slippers given upon arrival and toiletries, mini toothpaste with toothbrush, even provided with Henry when asked. If you like asian food then you don't need to worry as the food was nice but non-asian food isn't as good and there's no desserts but the hotel do offer a 24hr room menu service so you can order through them or order externally. It was great to see walls painted with for e.g. Westminster so gave the London feel and the walking area had palm trees. The windows opened and one of our windows opened fully. Thank you Millennium Gloucester Hotel for a great quarantine stay especially Chris who went out of his way and was always on hand to help, it is very much appreciated. I hope other hotels can learn from the positive feedback so everyone can leave their quarantine with a positive experience.

Not a good start for this hotel having been closed for a month and reopening on Nov 4th. Fri checked in about 3.30 but every room I tried had full blast cold air with thermostat locked out. At 4.45 was looking on my phone to see if any other hotels were available in the area and was going to demand a refund. Eventually a lady on reception said Mainetenance could turn a room aircon off, so I said yes as long as I get a heater as rooms freezing. Needing to go to a corporate event I was running out of time, eventually a guy brought me a heater and after three attempts to get maintenance the air con stopped. But heater inadequate. Needles to say I was very late and stressed when arrived at evening event with colleagues concerned.
Booking had said access to Club lounge but it wasn't opened.
After arriving back about 1am tired, drifting off to sleep suddenly the TV came on and the fire alarm went off grrr. Having stayed in this hotel before Covid I know its a regular occurrence as soon as someone smokes in a room seems all the alarms go off, other hotels don't! They seem not to be bothered to invest in technology to prevent these spurious alarms. Just seems with alarms and air-con no investment has been made at all.
Be warned upper floors have hardly any rooms that are not connecting, but reception staff don't seem to know that, if you ask for a non connecting room its all confusing for them. One helpful guy did pull out a map and we tried to work out if any were non connecting.
Breakfast was so so, no muesli, no gluten free bread / cereal, no almond or soya milk. Croissants aren't fresh they come in a pre packaged plastic wrapper. Went to get more food and over zealous server started cleaning my table even though obvious It was still being used.
Asked for a receipt at check out to be swiftly told you booked via an agent they will send it to you! I was in a hurry so didn't persist but I always get a receipt at check out, anyway it never arrived and had to ask our corporate agent to get it.
I'm in London a lot on business but unlikely to return.

My wife and I were allocated this Hotel for our 10 days Quarantine program as we were arriving in the UK from a Red List Country. We were a bit apprehensive about Hotel Quarantine program considering that our son had been allocated another Hotel a week earlier and was having a rough time as his stay at the hotel was unfortunately not good.
We arrived at the Millennium after a 2.5 hour Bus ride from Heathrow as the same coach drops off other Quarantine Passengers destined to different Hotels before arriving at the drop off where we were allocated to stay. We were received by the security detail who escorted us to the reception Lounge area where we filled out some forms. We were then escorted to the reception where the receptionist warmly welcomed us and explained the way the quarantine at this hotel works and gave out the meal coupons for the next 10 days. We were then allocated a room and escorted by security and the baggage followed.
The room equipped with AC looked comfortable and of good size with a 56 inch TV and a big window overlooking the South West side from where you could see the top of the Kensington Church tower, a beautiful tree and some old residences.
We received the dinner packs and were pleasantly surprised with the quality. In the following days the tasty meals served along with fruit /salad were served on time and the choices were good. This is a 5/5 for the Chef and his team. When we needed extra fruit such as Banana, it was sent up in no time at all. Likewise , whatever we needed in terms of linen and toiletries , was supplied and left at the door within minutes. The security people were courteous and would escort us for our daily walk and exercise.
In these uncertain and unprecedented times, from our 10 days quarantine experience , This Hotel has proved to be what other Quarantine Hotels may want to emulate to ensure that People arriving from Red List Countries who have had to pay 1750.00 for a single or 2400.00 for a double are treated humanely and , in the current circumstances , their stay made as comfortable as possible.
We give this Hotel a 5/5 and surely this service can only be possible when they have been perfect all along. That a Thumbs up for the Management Team. Thank you very Much for making us feel at Home.

There is a hop on hop off bus stop right on the corner in front of the flower shop and tube station on Gloucester Road, literally on the corner where the hotel is.

I am surprised that members have said not to stay here. It is a very well run hotel and perfectly nice for a stay in centrally in London. Very close to underground for ease off travelling around London to see the sights. I wouldn't book via the ship but would book directly with the hotel. It will be cheaper that way.

If you are booking thru NCL on pre-cruise stay, the answer is yes, they had a car and driver waiting for us (just like on the movies a guy standing with a NCL placket with my name on it), if you booked it yourself then you can catch a Uber/taxi or take the subway right to the hotel!
