Wish I could say all went well but... Location is good but when all else is weighed in I would never stay here again. The rooms are very stuffy and small. The hall carpets are dirty and the walls are dingy. It is very noisy and you can hear everything on the street below along with the housekeepers in the hall early in the morning. We took a room on the first floor after reading about the slow elevators but ironically for us that was never a problem even after being moved up to the 10th floor. What did it for us was the fact that we had a rat in our room and finally saw him/her on our last day in London. Thought we had heard something but figured it was the mini fridge. My disappointment was the lack of care after it was reported. I had to call 3x before anyone picked up the phone downstairs- then waited some more until pest control came up(one nice man). Had to pack all out stuff up and move upstairs. Ok that's life but no one followed up with us to see if we were ok (remember this wasn't a cute little mousey it was a black rat!)that must have come thru the window. I went down later in the evening and asked for a refund on that night(it wasn't offered) and I was assured it had already been done. Well- 10 days later I call and it hadn't been done so again not good customer care. Definitely won't be back.

Stayed at St Giles as wanted to be close to central London. Great location and only a few mins walk from the tube. Just hope you don't get put on the top floor as for the amount of people staying there the lifts are a nightmare. Also make sure you get to breakfast early as again there was a huge que due to not being able to accommodate so many people. My friend who's birthday it was, was asked to leave breakfast so they could have her table. As we were a group we were disappointed as catching up at breakfast esp on a Sunday morning before we set off for the day. They need to accommodate for the amount of people they have staying in their hotel. Other than that great location.

St. Giles London is in a superb location with easy access to shopping, dining, and major tourist sites (Big Ben, London Eye, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Oxford St, Picadilly Circus, Regent St,, Chinatown). When I first entered the hotel, I was delighted with the fresh and newly renovated lobby. Then as I went to take the elevator, I was shocked that the hotel is still using old, low speed, noisy elevator with dirty interior. The corridor leading to the room was also narrow with dirty carpet, The rooms are really old (as if it has never been renovated or refurbished for the last 20 years): carpets are dirty, paints are falling off the walls and the furniture, the box spring bed was soggy, the toilet and shower were oddly designed. I have to request for the change of room twice but still it was the same old and dirty choices. I was asking for a newly renovated room but the reception told me there's none. My asthma was also triggered by the dirty carpet in my room. For the price of 200 GBP per night, it was totally not worth the money. A cheaper ibis or Hoilday Inn Express would have a better, cleaner, and more modern room. The set up of the breakfast buffet looks like a school cafeteria with very limited food choices. The only saving grace of this hotel is the location.

Great location and quality for the price. Rooms can get hot, lifts can be slow at peak times and you may have to queue for breakfast (but they work really hard to reduce that) but overall unbeatable value for such a location. One tip on the gym & pool: check the opening hours (which are on the web) as hotel guests have much more restricted access than actual members.
Thank Toby S.

Second stay for us in St.Giles, primarily due to its superb location just 2 minutes walk from Tottenham Court tube station & Oxford Street.
The staff were welcoming, & the porters store suitcases for later if you arrive too early to check in (equally for when you leave). The rooms are quite small, but for a city centre location it's sometimes to be expected. Room was clean & well maintained, plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits etc... on the tray with a kettle. WiFi in the room was good, different priced rooms obviously have different facilities, but our room had a fridge, hairdryer, iron & ironing board - room price was good, again considering it's so central.
Didn't eat or drink anything in the hotel, although the bar is large & usually busy. Sainsbury's just across the road for any necessary needs, will definetly stay here again on trips to London - recommended!
