Just returning from two amazing nights at this hotel.
I made the booking only 24 hours before I arrived and I’m so pleased I did. I wasn’t staying with my mother so wanted somewhere close to the tube station.
The check-in was done swiftly by Karolina.
She booked us into room 447 and told us that if for any reason we didn’t like the room then we should come back to reception and she would allocate us another.
There was no need for us to do this as room 447 had a lovely view of a quiet sidestreet and a huge window that we were able to open for fresh air.
The room was sufficient in size for two people. The bathroom was on the small side but this did not spoil our stay.
I still can’t believe how wonderful a stay and room we had.
We paid £202 for two nights. Upon arrival we were told that we had been upgraded and that we were also been given a room credit of £15 per night. This meant that at the end of our two night stay we had £30 worth of drinks in the bar for free. This brought our nightly rate down from £101 go £86.
Not only that but breakfast was included.
On the Friday morning breakfast was available in the room only as a breakfast hamper. We placed our order over the phone the night before and it was delivered promptly in the morning. There were numerous choices including yoghurt‘s, porridge, muesli, bagels etc. On Friday morning breakfast was served in the restaurant on an à la carte basis.
The full English was one of the best Iv had. It looked and tasted fresh and it was not seeping in fat.
The room was great, the location was great, breakfast was great but what really stole the show was the customer service.
A special mention needs to go to Bryce who served us in the bar. Then there was Andreea and Lola. These two girls were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, helpful and I actually felt as if I was saying goodbye to family when I left the hotel.
They took care of our luggage, ordered us a taxi to the train station, they even came out to the taxi to wave us goodbye. These two ladies deserve a pay rise for the commitment and professionalism that they show. These girls are giving five-star service in a four-star hotel. I look forward to returning to this gem of a hotel.

My wife and I have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt and the staff here really pulled out all the stops.
Neil, the hotel manager and his deputy, Akil took time to speak with us and ensured that our room and overall experience in the hotel during our stay were to a very high standard.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant at weekends and Massimo, our waiter, was absolutely wonderful in ensuring our fresh food was served hot and beautifully cooked by the Chef - nothing was too much trouble for him.
The hotel bar is expertly managed by Dino and his colleague Adam - again both of these staff members were outstanding in their service.
The reception team saw to our every need, arranging our travel plans to Hampton Court Palace and Kew Gardens and purchasing tickets for these locations ready for us upon arrival.
Our hotel room was to a very high level and was exceptionally clean. The room was fully stocked with shampoos, conditioners, body cream and luxury bath and hand towels and complimentary waters,, tea and coffee befitting a hotel of this standard.
The hotel is perfectly located near to Gloucester Road underground station and a short walk away from Harrods, Hyde Park and some wonderful nearby restaurants.
The hotel was expertly managed to serve guests in the current unfortunate Covid circumstances and the hotel gym was available for our use if we wished.
my wife and I stayed at this hotel in 2005 and it was great to return and find that the guest experience was main aim of the hotel staff.
I highly recommend this hotel to you and the Vanderbilt is a fine advert for the Radisson Blu brand.
Thank you all for making our stay so wonderful and memorable for all the right reasons!

Radisson Blu Vanderbilt,

We were so glad we found you.

The location of this hotel is superb, right near Gloucester road train station, everything is very close to this hotel.

We had a supreme room,
The floors creaked as you walk on them,
room was very small
shower was in the bath
But it had great character of a building of that age.

The breakfast had a great selection of food and the same breakfast area turns into a restaurant at night which was great.

The staff were very attentive.

We booked this hotel to stay in the night before and after out wedding day.
I had tried to choose a hotel that had a great looking breakfast choice (being 6 months pregnant I am enjoying food!).

Unfortunately the room we booked looked very different to the images provided when booking and more like the standard room rather than Superior. The advertisement showed a sofa and a nicer shower bathroom than the one we were put in. It felt like the lower level room but with a king size bed squashed in.
There was damage on some of the pieces of furniture and they are desperate for a clean/update.
It was worrying to note the grime in the drawer handles of the desk/mini bar and on doors .
The carpets also needed a good clean by the windows (hidden by curtains) where lots of dirt had been missed. There was also blue ink stains on our bedsheets.

Unfortunately Breakfast was only allowed in bedrooms and was a delivered ensemble of disappointing and limited options in plastic/card pots. This was not made obvious to us when booking and was not reflected in the price, we had chosen packaged based on a nice breakfast included. Food was delivered in card boxes consisting of: Fruit salad of just melon, Bircher muesli tasted like eating pot Puri, yogurts were very watery. The bagels were un toasted and stale. However the porridge was delicious and the juice very fresh. Both days we ordered breakfast juice and coffees were missed off the orders. Had I known breakfast would be this disappointing I wouldn't have booked.

This being said the hotel itself is very nice and I am sure in non Covid times breakfast is a treat! The staff all seemed relatively friendly and very helpful apart from the gentleman who checked us out on Friday morning who was a bit abrupt with us.

We were also very impressed that the hotel had done a lovely display on our bed for our wedding and left a token box of chocolates, very kind and considerate of them! The bed was fantastic and we had a great few nights sleep.

I think the hotel needs to be honest with guests about the current breakfast options, especially if you are greedy like me and looking forward to it!

Stayed for three nights in July using our Raddison members rate only to discover it was cheaper on other websites which included offers of free breakfast and room upgrades.
Unfortunately the safe didn’t work, nor did the fan in the tiny bathroom and we were told maintenance would appear the following morning at 8 am, no show so When we phoned at 9 am the member of staff appeared no mask and argued he taken a lateral flow test 6 before. Safe had to be replaced which meant we didn’t leave till 10am. During which time they tried to deliver room service which hadn’t been ordered.

None of the housekeeping staff wore masks either.

I filled in the guest survey/ feedback, customer service acknowledged it 10 days later and I’m still waiting for a response!!

Firstly, I should make clear that we used our remaining Avios to book a three night stay at this hotel. We had stayed here previously and had been given an excellent room but this time we weren’t so lucky.
The room was adequate albeit smaller than we are used to but contained all that we needed with the added benefit of a Nespresso machine. We were comfortable although we would normally choose a room with some chairs to sit in….but this was too small for extra chairs. It is a nice hotel in an area convenient for Gloucester Road Tube Station and for the museums of South Kensington - just a few minutes walk away. Staff are friendly and helpful and staff will give way to allow guests priority access to the lift. I cannot fault the quality of the room servicing either……we were impressed.

However, our room looked a little tired…..a slight chip in the en suite sink, a carpet that had come away from the door and skirting leaving a very small gap and paint peeling on the outside of the building just by our window. That said, the bed was comfortable and the room pretty quiet apart from some guests who presumably arrived late one night and opened and shut every cupboard and drawer in their room!

We stay in London a few times a year and it seems that this room would have cost us around £100 a night without breakfast. Two months ago, we stayed in a Premier Inn, had a much larger room and paid £96 for two nights. No Nespresso machine but otherwise similar facilities. Ok , no REN toiletries either but such touches are not essential for us.

Finally, we found the lack of a hotel information book in the room a bit of a shame as we would have liked to see what options existed for breakfast etc or what other services were available. In London, breakfast is easy to find and usually at less than hotel prices but we might have been tempted, especially on our last morning.

Still in these COVID times we should be grateful that we can stay in places like this!

I have been returning to this hotel for the last 5 year. ButBdigitalisation is catching up. The online room description does not properly describe the room and the amenities provided. In the past, I had not been booking myself.

The hotel is in traditional English fashion: nice entrance, small corridors, very small rooms, renovations consist of paint overs, expensive for what you get. Some rooms are very decent, some are so small, there is no room to even upon up the ironing board that is provided.

Staff is very friendly. Lela at reception went out of her way to make up for the bad digital service like inflexible online check-in, concierge service (ed) without response and the Telefon-Sales person who tried hard to sell me a room without being able to really describe it.

It would help if the on-line description of the rooms and pictures where accurate and not generic. This applies both to the booking as well bas check in.

I would like to extend my apologies to you about the inconveniences you did face while staying with us in you felt that the descriptions and pictures of the room were not accurate and that you had an issue with the online check in. We will have these points followed up with the relevant departments so that we can improve for the future If i could ask you to contact us via vanderbiltvip@radisson.com so that i can enquire more about your stay with us. It was my second or third stay (I'm not too sure) at the hotel and the service was great from start to finish.

I had originally booked a single room but I was upgraded to a much larger double which was a nice surprise. The room was really nice came with everything that you would ever need and was quiet. Had a few nightcaps in the bar that night and they have good range of malt whisky. Breakfast was included and the buffet had everything you could want.

The hotel is just round the corner from Gloucester Road underground, so ideal for getting you into the centre.

I stayed the night of March 14th and had a great (pre-lockdown!!) weekend away and can't wait to return

Such a gorgeous hotel, decorated perfectly in keeping with the age of the building. Lovely staff too. The only disappointment for us was that the breakfast was a hamper in the room rather than in the restaurant, which we hadn’t realised in advance. We paid extra for breakfast via booking.com and were excited for the breakfast experience/full English so it was a bit of a shame for us to be honest. I’m not sure we would have booked this hotel if we had known that breakfast is only served downstairs at the week ends, we didn’t see this info anywhere on the booking.com site. However, the £15 of daily credit for drinks was very welcome with the weather being so hot in London this week! The hotel is less than a 5 min walk to the tube/natural history museum and only a 10-15 min walk to Kensington gardens. Hotel was very accommodating allowing us to check in early and also providing 2 beds for my children on request. A particular mention to the lovely lady on reception on June 1st & 2nd (slim/ dark hair) - she was so kind and friendly to my daughter, which made our stay more special.

We arrived in London at 7am Christmas Day and were so pleased we could check into the Radisson Blue early after a long flight from Australia. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly when we were half asleep. We stayed in a double room and a family room with three older/ adult teenagers. There was a queen sized bed and large sofa bed in the family room, and the staff provided an extra duvet to make our daughters sharing the queen bed easier. The rooms were on the small side but that’s London hotels! The rooms were spotlessly clean and well fitted out. The Radisson has a nice downstairs bar which we often had a drink in after a day of sight seeing. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant but had room service for dinner Christmas night, this food was great. I would recommend the Radisson Blu Edwardian as a well located place to stay in London, close to the tube and lots of shops & cafes.

Hi, announced prices for rooms, except maybe top suites, didn’t include breakfast and I think there was an admission of approx. 23 pounds pp. However, within less than 10 mins walk you will find more than 10 different kinds of well tasting offers and London has really turned green! Of course you will also find classic English breakfast as well as continental and so forth. Prices around 7-12 pounds depending on choices.
