The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane garners praise for its range of amenities, particularly the exquisite afternoon tea and the inviting club lounge. While the hotel's prime location near parks and landmarks is a highlight for many guests, opinions on the rooms and value for money show a divide; some find the rooms to be spacious and comfortable, yet others describe them as lacking. Despite this, the consistent cleanliness and the art deco atmosphere receive accolades. Additionally, the warm and helpful staff contribute positively to the overall guest experience.

I stayed at this hotel in time of Christmas, December 2019, on the 5th floor of the Park View Superior Room overlooking Green Park.

Let me start right here. I definitely recommend the extra charge of the Delux Room to the Park View Superior Room, which is located higher up in the hotel, thus providing greater comfort for the quiet and views of Green Park. The London Eye lights are also seen at night.

The hotel rooms are exactly the same as in the images hotel advertise, while providing all of the aforementioned hygiene aids for a business or leaisure stay.

The hotel was decorated with Christmas at the time, and the atmosphere also offered Christmas menus at Afternoon tea.

The hotel staff were very meticulous, friendly and professional with their guests. I was particularly impressed with the porter, concierge and cleaning service.

Taxis are available in front of the hotel (ultimate London experiance), and a 5-minute walk away is the Green Park Underground Station, with which also starts the shopping district. On the other hand side of the hotel there is 5min walk to Hyde Park and Mayfair district. Overall, a one-off location.

We just returned from a great visit to one of our favorite cities in the world and being able to explore London from this hotel was a highlight . It is located in such a good location, right on Piccadilly, a few blocks from the Green Park tube station and across the street from the park. The rooms are small but comfortable And quiet and the Club Room was very nice with many food selections to choose from. Our favorite place to hang out was the comfy central bar area.
We had the pleasure of being served by a delightful and friendly bartender by the name of Cosmin. He along with the whole bar staff made our long days of walking a nice treat. He was very courteous and helpful but most of all Added a personal touch to his interactions with us. Thank you Cosmin . We will return and hopefully be served by you again. Save us a seat at the bar. Actually I was impressed with the friendly and helpful doormen as well. They always greeted me with a smile on their face . I have stayed in many hotels in London and I highly recommend this one .

Wow. Stayed Friday and Saturday night in a club room. These are on the top floor, and although we did not have a view of the park, the room was spacious enough to be termed a suite, with large bathroom/wet room and walk in wardrobe. Had the best nights sleep as very quiet and the most comfortable bed. As part of our stay we had access to the lounge for breakfast which had a great selection of hot and cold dishes as well as afternoon tea, drinks and snacks. Thank you to all the staff who looked after us so well. Claire was especially attentive. As birthday treat I enjoyed bottomless afternoon tea again thank you to Claire for making this sych a special and memorable occasion . Nibbling heart shaped dainty sandwiches listening to a fantastically talented harpest was simply the best.
Could not recommend this hotel more. From glass of bubbly at check in to late checkout and fantastic location on Piccadilly. This is a good quality 5* hotel where service matters
Perfect for romantic weekend, in the heart of London

My family of 8 stayed in 2 junior suites plus 1 deluxe room here from 17 Dec 22 through to 28 Dec 22. Paid over £18,000 total, expecting a wonderful Sheraton experience over Christmas. We didn’t get it.

(1) Sheraton doesn’t give its guests bottled water. We only got 4 small glass bottles of water per room. Each bottle gave a person only 3-4 mouthfuls of water. When we asked for more, Sheraton said we were limited to only 4 glass bottles per room per day. It’s Club Access room doesn’t provide water either. We had to buy our own water! Sad!

(2) We ordered in Deliveroo one night and we called for 8 plates, plus cutlery to be brought up to our Suites. Sheraton told us rudely that we should have asked the restaurant to include plates into our order, so that we did NOT have to bother Sheraton to provide them. This is very disappointing Sheraton service standards.

(3) On Day 1 of our stay, we noticed that strangely our telephones in Suite 151 was hooked up wrongly to room 731 instead! We asked for this to be corrected but Sheraton sent no one up until our last day to fix this. As a result, it took a long time for Sheraton to deliver things (ice, towels, etc.) that we requested through the phone as everything kept getting delivered to room 731 instead (EVEN THOUGH each time we called we specifically said we were calling from room 151!). Frustrating!

(4) We requested for late checkout but Sheraton said no as they were fully booked, so OK we duly checked out at 12 noon as requested by Sheraton and waited at the Sheraton lobby for a couple of hours before our cabs came to get us. At 3pm we requested for the fireplace to heat up as it’s cold (and we had 2 grannies and a toddler in our group), but nope Sheraton said they will turn it on only at 6pm. No flexibility and no care nor concern for Sheraton guests. Sad!

Dear LorettaY36, Thanks for your comments, we are sorry to hear your recent experience did not meet your expectations please accept our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Your comments about the overall stay are well received, thanks for your constructive feedback. It is unfortunate the telephone did not work, rooms are normally fault free and checked thoroughly before guests arrive. Your feedback about the room & service is very helpful and will be addressed, we will certainly look into it to ensure it does not occur again. With regards to the late check out, Over the last two weeks, we have been running on a high occupancy due to the festive season and also managing the the last minute reservations. Despite some challenges the team worked together to provide the best possible experience and assisted every single guest with their preferences. I am sorry you experienced that a late check out was not awarded. With regards to complimentary water bottles & plates, I will pass this to the relevant managers for further investigation. Please accept our sincere apologies for the same. We hope your travels bring you back to London and you decide to give us another chance. Kind regards, Justin

I was given an afternoon tea experience for two as a gift (via Virgin Experience). The cost for afternoon tea at this hotel was listed on the menu as £49 per person, so the gift was worth £98.

The service was pleasant but the quality and quantity of the afternoon tea was not very good at all, especially, bearing in mind the calibre of the hotel and the price paid.

The hotel was very nicely presented and is classed a 5* with surroundings which were appropriate. We were shown to our table in the Palm lounge, which was very pretty. The Palm lounge is small but comfortable and there were about 8 tables of differing sizes there.

We were given 3 finger sandwiches each and a miniature roll each. This was not good value for money and at least two of the sandwiches were dry, giving myself and my guest the impression they had been pre-prepared and left out or frozen and defrosted.

We also had two miniature scones each which was satisfactory.

For the cakes, we were given four miniatures (one of each flavour), which therefore needed us to cut them in half so that we could try each of them. One was a choux bun with icing and the choux tasted stale and very chewy/doughy. The marzipan on the Battenburg looked grey and unappetising. The strawberry mousse was tasty, as was the chocolate cake but as there was only one per platter, we did not get much opportunity to taste them.

We had large pots of tea, served in silver/metal teapots. They had thin paper covers wrapped partially around the pot but these did nothing to stop the handle getting hot and I burnt my palm when I tried to refill. I had to use my napkin to refill my cup as this prevented my hand getting scalded.

All in all, this was very disappointing. I have had many afternoon tea experiences and this was by far the worst I have ever had. If we were able to refill the sandwiches or cakes, we were not told and so did not.

My friend and I ordered a glass of champagne each which we paid for independently. The cost was £38 for the two glasses but my friend was nearly charged £44.50 as a £6.50 service charge had been automatically added to the bill! We requested this be removed, which it was, but feel that this is unacceptable.

When we paid for the champagne we did tell the waiter that we were not happy and she did offer us a complimentary glass of champagne which, as we were leaving at that point, we declined.

Improvement Advice:

The hotel should at the very least bring out one cake per person so that miniature cakes are not having to be cut in two.

If we were entitled to ask for more sandwiches etc, then we should have been told.

If the handle of the pot gets very hot, then another method of holding

it should be employed or the waiter should return to refill you cup for you.

There were not that many people having afternoon tea so it would not be unreasonable to expect a 5* hotel to make these fresh every day.

We have stayed in several hotels in London and were so disappointed with our stay this weekend. We had an afternoon tea booked at The Ritz for 1.30pm so phoned the hotel a couple of times before we booked to see if we could get an early check in. Was told to download the bonvoy Marriott app where we could log as a member and then book early check in. Which we did. On arrival at the hotel we were told our room wouldn’t be ready til 3pm!! We needed to change to go to The Ritz The receptionist couldn’t give a damn and basically kept repeating “company policy 3pm” her attitude was appalling!!! We were sorted a room. Couldn’t understand why ours wasn’t ready as hotel was nearly empty! We found an open tub of crisps in our room and NO disinfectant wipes even tho this is stated on website and on trip advisor!! Again couldn’t give a damn attitude when it was brought up with staff. We will stick to our Hilton Hotels in future and wont be returning!!

I was so disappointed by my experience at this hotel, especially as a platinum member.
As a solo female traveller, I’m very careful about not letting anyone in my room, so I requested no housekeeping upon check in. I also left the do not disturb door hanger out. For two days I received towels at my door in lieu of housekeeping. Both days I returned the towels to the front desk and again stated that I did not need any service. The third day I left out the door hanger, but it must have gotten knocked off because when I came back my room was cleaned. I requested to speak to a housekeeping manager about it but never heard back.
When checking in I received a voucher for two free drinks at the lobby bar. I used my coupon but upon inspecting my bill when I got back to my room realized that I only received credit for one free drink.
On my last night I called for room service 30 minutes before it closed. I was told to call back in 10 minutes. I did and was told that they had my order. I called a few minutes after they closed and was told that my order was never recorded. There is nothing within walking distance to get food after room service closes so I had to order Uber Eats. The front desk would not bring my food up or let the delivery person upstairs.
I asked to speak to a manager before I checked out and gave a window when I would be in my room. I never heard back.
I called Marriott when I returned home to talk about the incorrect charge on my bill and my dissatisfaction of the service. Over a month later I have not heard back. I would not return to this location and am very disappointed in the lack of communication with Marriott.

We just came off a 5 might stay at this hotel and here are my thoughts:

There was a lot of confusion with our room and the rate at the beginning of our stay. This was partially my misunderstanding but also confusion on behalf of the manager who apologized and allowed us to stay in our room at a very reasonable rate and also provided Club access for no additional cost. I very much appreciated this generosity as they went above and beyond to remedy the confusion.

On the plus size I appreciated the size of room, the large bathroom, all of the staff were VERY helpful and kind, and the hotel location is excellent.

My main issue was really just with housekeeping because rooms were cleaned very haphazardly. They left old coffee cups and water bottles in the room, didn't change the sheets (I requested this twice), left old towels scrunched up, and I found soap wrappers on the floor, etc.

The Club room was nice and again EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. It's mainly due to the fantastic service that I'd stay in the hotel again if in the area.

I was attending a reunion ( 6 of us we students in London many years ago) and we had agreed to start things off at a pub in Shepherds Market so I needed a hotel that was within crawling distance and the Sheraton fitted the bill perfectly. I also liked it because was recently refurbishment and had character unlike a lot of hotels nowadays. An added bonus was the Club Lounge which was actually quite spacious and had a decent spread of food/snacks at various times of the day.

My Club room was about 30m2 'ish which is a good size for a London hotel albeit some of the standard rooms are a "cozy" 20m2. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was a decent size with a separate shower.

My only dissappointment was not getting a Sunday Times delivered to my room as ordered the day before at check in so had to read the Club Lounge copy over breakfast as opposed to my usual routine with a cup of tea in bed.

On Sunday afternoon we had an average Club Sandwich in the Palm Court and unusually there was a harpist playing which was pleasant.

In summary, a good quality functional hotel in a good location with good service and facilities......

You can take Heathrow Express to Paddington and then take a cab to the hotel. Or else take an Uber from the airport or book a minicab in advance. Fares can be in the range of 70-80 pounds. The cheapest is the first option

These requests can rarely be guaranteed beforehand as it all depends upon room availability upon arrival. However you need to call them directly or email them to request and the staff are very kind and will do their best .

Hello! I stayed at the Sheraton Grand London, Park Lane in early October. The hotel was excellent! Our room was large enough as you described above to move around and not bump into anything. We had a tub and a shower in our room and it was nicely equipped. The TV was directly across from the beds on the wall above a small desk area. We had a sitting chair as well and the closet was near the room door - so not impeding any other part of your staying area. I believe we had a Superior Double room. ?? Hope this helps! Cheers!
