There's so much going on in Clapham day or night and Premier Inn Clapham is at the heart of the action. By day, there's lots to explore along Clapham High street with its bustling bars, restaurants and quietly chic boutiques, while leafy green Clapham Common and Battersea Park are perfect for a family picnic. By night, take in a movie at arty independent Clapham Picturehouse or grab a drink at one of Clapham's famously lively bars. After a day of exploring, sit down to a delicious dinner at Thyme restaurant before you relax in your new-generation bedroom, with 40" flat screen TV, bright modern bathroom and luxurious kingsize bed.

This Premier Inn is fairly handy for Clapham and Battersea. Staff were polite and friendly, and the room was very clean - a pleasure to return to each afternoon. There was iced water in reception and a good variety of extra tea bags too. I’m not a fan of air con overnight so the sealed windows were a disadvantage for me. Although it’s possible to get a slightly cheaper room some nights, London prices make this a pricier stay. However, the room was quite quiet given it was in London. It took us about 15 mins to walk with cases from Clapham Common underground (Northern line), but the weather was dry and mild so this was just fine. There are small Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Costcutter convenience stores close by for any essentials. I would recommend this Inn.

A good Premier Inn. We are experimenting staying in Premier Inns which are not right in the middle of London so cheaper but let’s you see areas you might not go to. London public transport is so good that it’s not much of a handicap. Staff are very nice here and the hotel is right on at least 2 bus routes to take you into Central London. Also within walking distance of Clapham Common where there are some very nice restaurants.

We had 4 different AIRBNB reservations fall through for us so on a friends recommendation we booked two rooms here. The price was 1/3-1/2 of what we would have paid for the AIRBNB and it was clean, quiet, safe and located a 5 minute walk from 4 different bus stops. We were easily able to travel all over the city. There is a grocery store around the corner, but the food options are limited within quick walking distance of the hotel. We used UberEats one night, we did not try the restaurant at the hotel but it looked clean and reasonably priced. The extra sofa/couch was quite comfortable for an adult to sleep on as well and the beds were very comfortable.

Where possible, we will use Premier Inn for short stays of 1 or 2 nights because you always know what you will get. As ever, comfy beds, clean rooms and very friendly staff. We used this hotel because it is only a short bus ride and a few stops on the tube to the theatre district and, also to other main attractions.
My only suggestion would be that they fit an ashtray outside as smokers had nowhere ti dispose of their cigarette ends and they were just dropped on the pavement outside the front door.

Stayed in this hotel with a friend as we were visiting London for a weekend. A review below suggests this isn’t a good hotel for tourists, but it’s perfectly fine as there is a bus stop right outside the front door that brings you to Clapham Common tube station within minutes, or Leicester Square in well under an hour.

Although neither me nor my friend are wheelchair users, we ended up with a room designed for wheelchair users during our stay - which is no problem, but I did notice a couple of issues which are worth flagging just in case a wheelchair user plans to stay in this hotel.

Firstly, this hotel primarily offers self service check-in and none of the hotel rooms have phones, so you can’t call down to reception for assistance.

The corridor leading to the room had a number of heavy security doors which needed to be unlocked with a room key, which may be difficult for a lone person in a wheelchair.

When you actually arrive to the room, the spare pillows are on the highest shelf of the wardrobe, making them inaccessible. As mentioned earlier, there’s no phone to call for assistance for either the doors or the pillows.

The hairdryer requires a button to be held down to be used, which may be difficult for some people with disabilities.

In the bathroom, there are the usual ropes to pull for assistance in an emergency, which serve as the only way of directly contacting the staff from the room. Not sure how long it would take them to respond.

Additionally, the bathroom door isn’t on a hinge but rather slides across the wall, with no lock.

On the plus side, there is a lower peephole on the door which can be used by wheelchair users to look outside the door. The room is also quite spacious.

We chose the Hotel as it was perfectly situated to and from the train station (Clapham Junction) and the location of the Battersea Arts Centre where we were attending a family wedding. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly as we did not know the area. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. We were able to leave our luggage in a safe room before checking in and certainly helpful after checking out so we could sight see before taking train home

I have only good things to say about this hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing. From the two who checked us in and we saw each afternoon and asked about our adventures to the two morning staff who sat us for breakfast early each day, and again shared stories and information. And also the staff over dinner who learnt that we all had preferences after day two.
The food was ok, not the best but certainly not the worst. The room was comfortable, even with four of us in one room, not a lot of space but can't ask for much more for the price they offer.
There is two bus stops almost right outside the hotel to take you to different parts of London without much hassle and allowing you to see the sights on the way.

Definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay if visiting London.

In August, we booked for two nights at your hotel in October (23rd and 24th) and due to the Coronavirus crisis new peak and the governmental decisions, we have to cancel our trip to England and thus our nights at your hotel. We try to call the hotel, we do it about ten times at different times of day and nobody ever answers! We are given zero chance to talk to someone, to have a refund OR a voucher. This is inadmissible- what a shame to leave customers alone and let they pay for a room when the whole world knows perfectly well why we cannot go to England from France at the moment.

I booked this Premier Inn for a 2 night stay in London to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We hadn’t been away in a hotel for nearly two years due to Covid and we wanted somewhere that we were going to feel comfortable and at ease. Premier Inn at Clapham did just that. We were warmly greeted by Zoe and Courtney on reception who made us feel so welcome and sorted out our room even though we were early. They are a credit to the hotel. The room and bathroom had been cleaned to a high standard and the bed linen and towels were spotless. When Zoe and Courtney found out it was my husband’s birthday, they left a little bottle of fizz and some confectionery in our room- a lovely gesture. This hotel isn’t in the heart of the city and there is no underground nearby but if you catch the number 87 bus (the stop is called The Chase just along from the hotel) you can be in Westminster/Trafalgar Square/The Strand in less than 30 minutes. In my opinion, the top of a London bus is a much nicer way to travel rather than down in the depths of the underground. Next time we stay (yes, we will be returning) we would catch the number 87 bus from outside of Clapham Junction station and get off at The Chase rather than spending £10 on a taxi to go the mile or so to get to the hotel. We didn’t eat in so we can’t comment on the standard of food.

I stayed at the London Premier Inn Clapham for work for 2 weeks and I wanted to thank Matt, Zoe and Courtney for their professionalism and warm welcome.
They did not hesitate to go the extra mile to make my stay comfortable.
My room was quiet, spacious and very clean, the Wifi connectivity was working perfectly,
and the Covid restrictions very well enforced except for a couple of visitors who unfortunately don’t wear the mask when returning to the hotel in the evening but those thankfully were more the exception than the norm.
I’ll definitely use this hotel again or recommend it to my connections.
