We chose this hotel for it's roof terrace to watch the London Fireworks on New Years Eve. Ok, it is quite a long way from the actual display, but it is in direct line of sight, so you can see them. The hotel has a wrist band policy where you have to pay extra to go up to the top floors. It's £25, which includes a complimentary drink, so not bad. The only criticism we had is that they removed all the bar stools that were there when we had a drink in the afternoon. That's ok for men, but not so good for the ladies wearing heels. Everyone had to stand for 3 hours waiting for midnight. I could see several ladies swapping from foot to foot as they were obviously uncomfortable. Surely it wouldn't have hurt to leave some stools round the bar and a few on the small high tables located around the outside. Especially when they were still serving food. Lots of people we eating standing up, which was far from ideal. They could easily have left them out as the bars certainly weren't packed. Probably because of the £25 charge, which is a good idea to prevent it becoming a rugby scrum.
Our room had an amazing view across the London skyline where we could see right down the Thames to Tower Bridge, The Shard and even the London Eye. To be honest we would have had a better view of the fireworks sat in the warm on the lounger. For reference we had room 1506. We just felt it would be better to be up on the roof terrace with everyone else for the atmosphere. Our room was nicely furnished and a bit quirky. We liked the clear glass wall looking into the bathroom that became obscured with the touch of a button. Very 'Grand Designs'. It also had a huge flat screen TV.
We finished our stay with a very good breakfast and would recommend this hotel for it's close proximity to public transport and sightseeing.

We love your 5 star review Paul F, thanks so much. We are so happy that you enjoyed your New Years Eve with us. Thank you for your feedback about the bar stools and we will absolutely take that on board for NYE 2020. We do ticket the event to prevent large crowds and also so everyone can enjoy it. I hope we can welcome you back to Novotel Canary Wharf soon and you can enjoy the roof terrace in the summer which really is beautiful in the sun. Kind regards. Jacqui McMillan - General Manager

Stayed here for one night as part of going to a gig at the O2 arena. Check in was easy, all staff were polite and helpful, room spotless, nice view and had everything you needed.

Great location for going to restaurants in Canary Wharf as well as accessing the underground station, all within a five minute walk, tube to the O2 was less than 2 minutes.

Bed was comfortable, only noises we heard we the wind, we were near the lifts too so heard these occasionally.

Breakfast topped off the whole experience, situated on the top floor with views across London.

There is a £50 deposit to pay at check in which people may not realise.

Lovely staff and we will go back again in the future.

Everything regarding our stay has been wonderful!

I had some correspondence with the GM Jacqui and her team before our stay as I made a slight alteration on my booking, and everything was very professional, from the timely response from Jacqui and the way in which her and her team dealt with my requests.

We arrived one hour earlier than check in time and were told our room was ready straight away which was great! Front of house were great , cheer-full and professional.

On getting to our room we realised we had been upgraded. Thank you so much for this. The suite was large , clean , modern , light and airy with spectacular views over the Thames and city of London.

We ordered a light lunch from the room service menu and this was delivered promptly , piping hot from the polite young gentleman who checked us in.

We went down to the pool and sauna on level -1. A great addition to this already top notch hotel.

That evening we ate at the BOKAN restaurant in the 37th floor. The view again was spectacular , the food and service was top class. Live music was also played in the bar which we enjoyed after dinner with some cocktails.

Breakfast again was on the 37th floor , really tasty , lots of options.

With so much competition in London for places to stay I rarely stay somewhere twice. This hotel I will definitely be back! Superb team run by Jacqui. Everything has been great from start to finish. 10/10 !

We stayed here on a bed & breakfast basis for one night for £136 on a Saturday night. The hotel is located a short 10-15min walk from the tube station.

The reception area has a good relaxed, yet professional feel to it. The check in process was straight forward & it is a nice touch to have water for the guests.

5 lifts are on offer to take you to your rooms. We were on the 15th floor which gave some fantastic views. The room was great; large tv, dimming lights, spacious wardrobe, incredibly comfortable bed & pillows, iron/iron board, complimentary bottled water & a wide range of hot drinks.

Without doubt, the highlight for us was the breakfast. The staff were fantastic who were really helpful in sliding tables together as we had booked with friends. Again, the views were fantastic which gave the hotel its absolute ‘wow factor’. No need to state the items available as The Novotel catered for everyone. The choices were huge. One point to be mindful of is that it is served as a buffet style but not in a low budgeted manner.

We were impressed that there was a standard late check out (12noon) in place and would definitely return to this hotel for another visit. Only disappointment for us was that the hotel was unable to offer us a discounted extra night as we ended up stuck in London for another night due to Storm Ciara.

Stayed here before our honeymoon flight the next day. We noted it was out honeymoon on the booking, to one person acknowledged it.
The internet was down during the evening of our stay, the TVs did not work and this was in a suite.
The breakfast was inedible and other tables were being asked if they wanted champagne with their breakfast, we weren't even eating and no one came to ask us if were ok let alone ask us if we wanted champagne.
I went to reception to complain, she said normally we would leave you a cake for your honeymoon but we missed that. She said we could have breakfast for free in the cafe, which took 45 minutes to make and meant we were rushing to make our flight.
She gave use £40 back in compensation which is practically what we paid for breakfast so actually we just got a refund for the inedible breakfast. As a result, I will be contacting Novotel directly to inform them of this poor unacceptable service and ask for an actual refund now I'm back from honeymoon. Forgetting out honeymoon these are basic things. The hotel needs someone to do a spot check on rooms to check TVs are working, lamps are working, pens are with the notepad, phones work, there are enough cups for 2 people sharing a room. All of which were to applicable during our stay.

Booked this hotel for 3 nights in November for my birthday on 30th Dec & always use Accor as they allow dogs. Arrived 29th & reception were busy with a lady who had fallen, however we had checked in online & lady came to us when she realised we were there. It was very matter of fact but polite & our room was ready. I had hoped to get a room with a west view as I had e mailed the request & because we were to bring in the New Year in our room, as we had our small dog, who is frightened of fireworks, but we were told request wasn’t guaranteed & they were all full. However our room, 2815 had 2 aspects, floor length windows, one of the 02, which proved very good on Hogmanay as they had fireworks & actually lots to see all around from both windows.
We were told our room would not be cleaned through the stay so not to disturb dog which was fine. Housekeeping were there when I wanted bin emptied & clean towels.
As everyone says the rooftop views are spectacular day & night & we were allowed to use bar till 9pm on Hogmanay as we hadn’t paid to use it later. Staff were all lovely in the bar & made to feel very welcome.
We didn’t eat at all in the hotel as £25 each for breakfast we felt was very expensive. We had a kettle in the room but as a Accor member I had hoped we would have had a Nespresso machine as we always have in French Accor hotels, in every room.
Bathroom very spacious & great hot showers with 2 shower heads. Beds very comfortable & large wide screen tv.
Hotel staff left a birthday card & chocolates for my birthday which was a lovely touch thank you.
There is a lot of building all around & imagine once they are built the views will be impeded as the apartment building right next to us was already higher than hotel & once occupied can see right into room. Such is London life!
Great location for restaurants/cinema/shops & subway about 10 mins walk across river. Nice location at this time of year as not too busy & lovely walks along the river.
Reception staff at times when I passed with dog didn’t lift their heads to acknowledge me. Perhaps too busy!!!

Normally I stay at the nearby Marriott, however on this occasion I stayed at the Novotel, after reading the extremely positive reviews I had high hopes.

The stay began well and the hotel recognised it was my birthday, and chocolate and a card were left in my room when I arrived. However disappointingly the hotel struggled to get the basics right.

The bathroom showed signs of wear and tear, the toiletry shelf in the shower was broken and hanging at angle so it was unusable, tiles showed signs of damage and the shower head had mould/mildew present. The floor area in front of the full-length mirror had makeup stains.

Housekeeping was hit and miss. There was little constancy in standards, each housekeeper prepared the room in their own way e.g. making of beds. Tea/coffee was not replaced (I had to contact reception for more) and used towels/bins were missed. The room was also not vacuumed during the stay.

There was no hair conditioner or bath robes/slippers provided, they are only offered when staying in Executive Rooms. This is surprising as the are basic amenities that should be present in any four-star hotel room.

Staff seemed rather distant and cold in their interaction which came across as unwelcoming at times. For the most part did the bare minimum. Unfortunately from my observations staff seemed selective in their service and who received it. For example at breakfast after being asked if it was my first time dining, I was led to a table and forgotten about but the same staff were happy to guide an apparent influencer Instagram influencer around and offer them off-menu food options. Similarly when checking out conversation was minimal and I was not even asked the standard “How was your stay?”.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a night on our trip to London and I would say it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We booked an executive room for the view and boy was it worth it, especially at night time. The room itself was great too, beds were comfortable, design was simple but nice and all the amenities included were great (some bottles of water in the fridge, tea and coffee and a variety of bathroom and shower products).

We also paid a bit extra to have breakfast included, which was an incredible buffet where you could actually see them replace the items, ensuring great quality. Upon entry to the breakfast area, we were told we can pick out a seat and were asked if we would like any tea or coffee which they got to us within a minute, incredible servers. I'll now go through each breakfast item (that I had) one by one, skip to the last paragraph if you don't care for specifics haha.

First off, the traditional stuff. The bacon was the first thing I tried, it was incredibly crispy and wasn't greasy at all. if you go somewhere and the bacon has these two qualities, it's guaranteed everything else will be incredible. The sausages weren't too bad either, but definitely the weakest item overall, had a nice colour to them and were quite moist. Next were the scrambled eggs, soft, buttery, creamy. These eggs were so perfect and smooth that I had to use my spoon to eat them, pure bliss and I reckon they could rival even Gordon Ramsays. The fried eggs were pretty nice too, they cook them until the eggs are jammy so that people who like hard and people who like runny yolks can both enjoy. Just remember you'll have to season them with the packets at your table. The toast was incredible too, just make sure you put the bread through the toaster twice for the perfect golden toast.

Next up is the continental stuff. The blueberry muffin was very nice but a bit dry, luckily there's a bar there with a variety of juices to keep your mouth moist (the cranberry juice was lovely). The salami and the chicken were incredible, even if you're someone who likes to stick with the traditional stuff, I will highly recommend you get some chicken to go with your bacon, perfect combo. The croissants are the highlight of this section though, the most buttery, softest croissants I've ever had, absolutely incredible.

Unfortunately as we were only there one day, we weren't able to check out the other amenities. Hopefully we can check them out next time as we will definitely be coming again. Absolutely worth the money especially when there's other hotels that cost more and don't provide as much quality as this one.

I stayed at the Novotel in Canary Wharf for 2 nights and that was enough ! The staff was incredibly rude and unwelcoming from the moment we stepped foot. There was no water provided in the room and when we rang down for room the reception huffed down the phone and was incredibly rude to my boyfriend's face. No proper body towels were supplied only hand towels. On the last night, we wanted to order room service and they failed to take our order after we put it out at 10 pm for the next morning. The staff was incredibly rude. However, the hotel's breakfast bar was nice.

We stayed on the 30th floor for 1 night in the executive room. If you want guaranteed excellent city views then go for the executive room! The views are fantastic. 2 comfy chairs are plotted perfectly by the big window so you can sit back and soak up the outstanding views over London 😍

The room was also spotless and was so quiet. We honestly didn’t hear a peep from any of our neighbours. It was so quiet and peaceful it felt like we were the only ones on our floor!
We really enjoyed the special touches of the toiletries the hotel provided (such as body moisturiser, shaving kit, toothbrush set, shower cap, bathrobe and slippers). The only downside about the room was that the double bed was clearly 2 singles pushed together so it was uncomfortable at times when you felt the split between the beds!! Not ideal.
The smart TV was also great, lots of choice for TV and radio.

The only major negative for us were the pool facilities. It was noisy and there was plaster peeling from one of the walls and it looked like there was building work that was unfinished. Overall we weren’t weren’t very impressed as there wasn’t a peaceful feel to it as you would expect or want with most hotel/spa facilities. A real shame.

We didn’t stay for breakfast as we thought £25pp was a tad pricey..

Finally, a thank you to Ana who gave a warm welcome at reception and to the general manager who left a birthday card and Godiva chocolates in honour of a birthday occasion that we were staying for. A special touch which was greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

If you stay here, a visit to the roof terrace is a MUST.
