We stayed here for one night last weekend whilst visiting a relative in London. Room rate was excellent and we ‘upgraded’ to their new super room. Bed very comfortable and we both had a very good nights sleep. Noise level between rooms rather noticeable in the morning, I could hear our neighbours kettle being boiled and shower working but didn’t particularly bother us as we were awake anyway. Despite backing onto a railway line we weren’t aware of any street noise. Shower hot and really good water flow, curved shower rail increased space somewhat. The room was clean although carpets in the corridors were pretty heavily stained which was a shame as this gives a poor first impression. The area around the hotel was ok but we were in the hotel by 8pm so cannot comment on it late at night. As other reviewers have mentioned it is only a short (approx 5 minute) walk to Finsbury Park tube (Victoria line).
Staff very helpful and friendly, provided extra towels and drinks glasses readily when asked. We also left our bag there in the morning and they looked after it securely free of charge until we returned in the evening. We didn’t eat at the Travelodge but there is a cafe style restaurant there and a bar.
Happily stay here again on future trips to London.

During the worst of the pandemic and when we were concerned about transmission via contact with contaminated surfaces I could understand the reluctance to service rooms on a daily basis. But what is the justification for it now? It must be cheaper just to replenish towels and coffee on request rather than tidy and clean rooms on a daily basis. Prices haven't gone down, pre pandemic levels of service ought to be reinstated.

When we were there the corridors looked as if they hadn't been hoovered for several days, Another penny pinching ploy?

Busy bustling place, great location, transportation links for exploring London are good.

Plenty places nearby to eat as the hotel itself doesn't offer the best food, fast food at best. No car parking however as expected in the London region. My room overlooked the railway track into Finsbury Park station however not an issue, the triple glazing made sure of that.

Good nights sleep at a reasonable price in a sought-after location, just be prepared to eat elsewhere unless you like microwavable food.

I stayed 4 days at this hotel; I paid for a triple room, precisely because there were 3 adults and we wanted to have some space to move; in reality, I received (most likely) a double room, in which 2 more folding beds were crammed, which made the movement space disappear almost completely. With the exception of a few hangers hanging from a support in the room, there is no wardrobe or drawers, you have to keep everything in your suitcases. The cleaning staff did not enter the room during the stay, and if they did, they did not let it be seen, because the garbage in the room and in the bathroom remained motionless throughout our stay; in addition, we had to ask for toilet paper from the Reception, no one noticed that it was missing from the bathroom! It happened that one evening we didn't have water (the dispenser in the hall broke down) and the staff's recommendation was to drink water from the tap, and one morning we didn't have coffee: in the same way, the machine was out of order (some consumables were missing) and we were not offered any alternative; we had to go and spend extra and buy our morning coffee! I also had problems with the access cards in the room (they were deactivated almost after each use), and the reception staff is very relaxed about all these problems that create discomfort for the guests. The breakfast is dull, the same reduced offer every day, you end up only drinking coffee (if you have that too) and leaving! All in all, poor services for a price that is not exactly low. I will not return to this hotel, and I do not recommend it unless you have no other option!

Every single person working at the hotel are simply lovely, amazing, helpful with great customer service apart from the Hotel Manager SARA who is unprofessional and rude. Before I left for work @ 8.00am I left the pink label outside my door (which needs to be put before 11.00am) for my room to get cleaned. When I retuned back later in the evening my room was entered by housekeeping as the lights were on and the label chucked on the floor but room not cleaned. I went down to reception to report this. The lady at the desk spoke to her Line Manager who said as a goodwill gesture I could have a complimentary breakfast the next day. The next day I came down for breakfast and spoke to SARA who said she cant give me breakfast as she needs to 'investigate'. No apology from her what so ever. I know this is a budget hotel, but manners does not cost money. She never did investigate or come to me later in the following days ( I stayed for 10 nights) with any apology or explanation. Extremely disappointed by her behaviour.

I know that the travelodge is a cheap hotel, so I wasn’t expecting anything amazing when staying here, but honestly DO NOT even bother.

After a really long journey of travelling in from another city me and my partner arrived and straight away as soon as we got there and stepped in the door the entire hotel stunk of weed.

I had booked in advance and paid extra for a “super room” with a double bed. We checked in and were given a key, went up to the room and it was a standard room with twin beds. I went downstairs and explained that we had been given the wrong room. The man on reception was honestly one of the rudest people working in a hotel I’ve ever met. He took the key in silence and typed something in on the computer and said “there are no super rooms available.”

I said that can’t be right as we’ve paid extra for it, and he said “well there aren’t any.” No apology, no explanation or anything just a matter of fact rude answer. I said that this must be impossible as we booked and paid in advance and he said “well if you don’t like it, go to another hotel”. I also mentioned everything smelling like weed and he just looked at me blankly and didn’t even bother to respond. After me complaining further we were offered a super room that must have magically appreared during our conversation. The room was a disabled room with a twin bed and was awful. The bathroom was disgusting there was a massive disability seat in the shower so you couldn’t even get in the shower or enjoy it properly. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, it had splashes of shower gel and stuff from the last person and orange rust everywhere. The toilet roll was almost out and it just looked dirty.

There were really small twin beds and my partner is tall, hence why we pre booked a room with a double bed. The room had massive soaking wet patches all down one side of the room, cigarette burns all over the curtains and everything just stank of weed like the rest of the hotel. It was disgusting.

Don’t bother staying here as the staff don’t care one bit. Travelodge stop advertising rooms on your website for sale that don’t actually exist. It’s false advertising and I want a refund.

What a surprise tried to complain and there is NOWHERE on your website for me to email and try and get my money back.

This place needs more staff and they need danger money for dealing will all the unhappy, aggressive guests. I felt sorry for them. It’s not the cleanest of hotels (reception area, lifts), snagging issues in all 3 rooms that I went in. From broken air con, broken shower head, no bulb in lamp or soap in dispenser. TRAVELODGE pay your staff a higher wage, they are dealing with things beyond their pay grade. On the plus side, it’s close to Finsbury Park station, there are bus stops right outside that can take you to central London and there’s a Premier Inn next door.

On arrival 2 ladies at the desk (found out later they were the cleaners) looking stressed. Guests couldn’t check in early as no rooms has been cleaned even though people had paid extra for early check-in. I booked a super room, which was not ready at 3pm. So offered a standard room, which I took but requested to move once a super room was ready. Returned from dinner, the super room (412) was ready, so moved in with my daughter. Didn’t realise the air con was broken until I turned off the lights and the flashing light lit the room up. Back down to reception…finally got into a room at 11pm. Had booked the hotel as we needed an early night, ha!

Broken shower head (417) meant kneeling to wash hair, whilst trying not to flood the floor and worrying about the steam as it might set the fire alarm off (warning in bathroom), but there is a fan in the bathroom, which didn’t seem connected.

My stay was only made pleasant by the staff on reception, who kept their cool and were very helpful under the circumstances. I would recommend booking the super room if you do end up booking this site.

Having arrived to check-in just before 4pm (check in is supposed to be from 3pm), we were told that our room had not yet been cleaned. We were told that it should be about another half an hour, so we went off for a walk and arrived back just after 5.00pm. By then, the reception area was full of angry guests who had also been told that their rooms were not yet clean!

With a concert at the Emirates Stadium to get to, we eventually had to plead with the Manager to let us in to our dirty rooms so that we could get changed and head out and the rooms could be cleaned whilst we were at the concert. He reluctantly agreed to do this, but didn't even offer a clean towel!! His initial suggestion was that we all took it in turns to get changed in the disabled toilet off reception!

Having paid nearly £200 for a one night stay (probably inflated for jubilee weekend and the Killers concert at the Emirates) our stay was a complete disappointment!

In terms of our room, this was on the 1st floor. The train line is within touching distance and with the window open (the room was too hot) even a good night's sleep was not an option!!

I was going to a football match at The Emirates Stadium last week, and decided to stay over rather than bother with late night trains. I was fully aware that I was booking a budget hotel, and so expectations were low. When I arrived I couldn’t find any staff anywhere, and so waited, and ended up going into the kitchen and shouting for assistance. A young lady apologised and then came to serve me. I was a little early for checkin, but the lady kindly agreed to let me have my room. The room was absolutely fine - clean, comfortable bed, tea making facilities, TV and an excellent shower. I got changed and went to the match, and was hoping for a beer back at the hotel afterwards - they have a limited bar, which is basically selling bottles from a fridge! I was therefore disappointed to see both the bar and reception closed up, and just a security man wandering around and looking very bored! I have to agree with one of the previous reviews in that the reception stunk of weed. I therefore went to bed and had a great nights sleep. The hotel is in a good location, less than 5 minutes walk from Finsbury Park station, and about 15 mins from the football ground. Whilst the hotel wasn’t perfect, it did the job for me.

Stayed here for 2.5 weeks for business. Room wasn’t cleaned once. Asked for it to be cleaned at least 5/6 times and never was. Also had the sign on to top up several times and that also wasn’t done at all. Due to the length of the stay we ended up doing everything ourselves, we collected bedding from reception and changed our own beds we also had to borrow a Hoover to Hoover ourselves. Witnessed reception making a note several times so this wasn’t passed on or housekeeping just decided to ignore it. Caught a member of housekeeping on the first Saturday (after 6 days) she said she just clocked out and it should be cleaned properly after bookings longer than one week (obviously it never was) after we kicked off again at reception he said he put us down as a departure so it should definitely be cleaned .. it wasn’t and we were left a “rumba” outside our door. We had to get everything ourselves new towels toilet roll, milk coffee mugs bags everything. Our air con also never worked so nightly had to decide to be woken up by the heat or the loud sound of trains every ten minutes (including louder longer haulage trains at night) absolutely a joke and by far the worst travel lodge we ever stayed at.
