As many have said, the location of the hotel is ideal - we did a lot of traveling (up to Liverpool for two matches - Go Reds!, over to Wales, etc), and the proximity of both King's Cross/St. Pancras and Euston stations was indispensable. The Tube is absolutely the best way to get around London, but is you prefer cabs, there is a cab stand literally right across the street.
Much more important than location, though, the service was fantastic. Literally everyone was a pleasure to interact with; I believe service is something you take pride in, and it's clear from the professionalism and positivity that they most certainly feel the same way at The Megaro. Everyone at reception was always helpful, pleasant, and prompt (thank you especially Raul, Christian, and Naomi!). We frequented the restaurant and the bar quite a bit, and were never disappointed. London is an expensive town, especially for food, but I never felt anything was over-priced, and it was always worth it's weight in gold. Moreover, the service was again, delightful. I own a restaurant, and "the devil's in the details"; when you only have to give your coffee or cocktail ordered once and it's remembered every time after, it makes a world of difference. Thank you to everyone who made us feel at home: Nelu, Iulian, Andra, Tarria, Lucca, Pietro, and EVERYONE else. We stayed here for our whole vacation (17 days!), and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Grazie!
I am not usually one to write a review, but I highly recommend everything about The Megaro. The ambience is modern and laid back, contemporary and polished (even more fun if you're a Dr. Who fan). The location is perfect. The service fantastic. You will not regret booking this hotel, for one night or for a couple weeks.

A friend recommended the Megaro to me years ago, and I have never stayed anywhere else since then. The location is perfect: just across the street from King's Cross, which means that not only do you have great access to transportation, but the train station is a place to pick up stray items you forgot to bring along, or to get a meal or a snack. I ask for front rooms overlooking the street, but there are quieter rooms as well, in the back. Even the street-facing rooms are relatively quiet because of the double-glazed windows. The very best part of the hotel, however, is the staff. The Megaro desk staff and cleaning crews are the best: warm, highly professional, very understanding and welcoming. I can't say enough about how much I like this hotel. It's more than I usually pay for lodgings, but I find it worth it (and London is so expensive anyway...)

We stayed at the Megaro in September of 2021. We were unsure how traveling in the pandemic was going to be, but the hotel was spotless, our room was cleaned and restocked every day, and there were hand sanitizer stations all over the hotel.
We stayed in one of the themed rooms, and we loved the design. Our shower was awesome with colorful lights and a rainfall showerhead. The room was restocked daily with coffee and fresh cream, and the breakfast served at the Magenta restaurant was also amazing. I ordered the pastry basket one day and found out from my server that all of the pastries are baked in-house.
But above all, I couldn't say enough about the service. The front desk staff were beyond nice. They talked to us every single day, answered our every question, and helped with every request we had. The hotel is also conveniently located directly across the street from King's Cross and St. Pancras stations. In summary, stay here. You won't regret it.

I was moved hotels (from The Gyle) and did not know what to expect. It was outstanding as a hotel. I had a double deluxe room for the week which was incredibly spacious. The bed was very comfortable and massive for one person! The bathroom was lovely and the shampoo/condition/soaps smelt incredible. The room came with free tea (loose leaf how lovely), coffee, water - sparkling/stilled. The mini bar you had to pay separately for. The room had a view of the shard and the backs of some houses but had none of the noise at all from the busy roads at the front. It came with a TV, a safe, a hair dryer. It was perfect.

The cleanliness was exceptional. The cleaners came daily and the room was always kept to a high standard.

The breakfast was the best part of the trip. Mine was included with my room and it was well worth the money. Cooked or continental every day with the choice of tea or coffee and with water. I did not have the continental but it looked great: pastries, croissants, yoghurt and granola or fresh fruit to go with. I loved the cooked breakfasts: full English, or a choice of eggs, (benedict/royal/florentine), scrambled egg and salmon on a bun...it was spectacular.

The staff could not have done more for me. They held my luggage safely when I checked out so I could go to work and pick it up after. They gave me extra key cards. Their service at breakfast was wonderful.

A massive thank you for an incredible stay.

We stayed at The Megaro in a suite on the top floor for two night for a special occasion. If you book direct with them you get a better deal than that on booking sites. We were greeted by a lovely friendly team and the Prosecco on I’ve in the room was a lovely touch. The room was spotlessly clean and themed like a 70s film set which was tastefully done. There was a coffee machine in the room with coffee pods and fresh water topped up daily. The rainfall shower was amazing in the biggest bath tub I’ve ever seen. The tube station is just outside the hotel, a few steps away. A fabulous affordable hotel in central London… we will be back for sure! Thank you Megaro

Stayed here for a night while travelling through London. Just needed a bed somewhere near St Pancras, but having stayed in some pretty rough places in this area in the past I was happy to get a room here for a very good price.

Front desk open 24h so late arrival / early departure not a problem. Room was comfortable and clean. Decent espresso machine in the room.

I had to depart about 10 minutes before breakfast - I mentioned this on arrival and on checkout I was provided with a very well stocked brown paper bag to take on my journey.

Very happy with my stay and would come again.

Location of the hotel is great, just across the road from King's Cross St. Pangras station. At checking in, the reception people were very friendly, they even offered us complementary breakfast, unfortunately, that message was not passed on to the morning shift and we ended up having to pay for the breakfast, which would have been okay, if the food was decent...

For the price they charged, food they served was not up to par. Not to mention they had items on the menu they did not have all the ingredients for and tried to cover it up with a lot of dishonesty.

The staff at the restaurant were very "vocal", not much consideration was given to the customers and whether people wanted to eat in peace and quiet or not.

Not likely to stay again

Hi Waynewulala, Thank you for choosing to be our guest on your recent trip to London. I'm glad to read that you enjoyed the hospitality of our colleagues, and that you found the hotel well located for your needs. Slightly more concerning to read is the experience you had in our restaurant, and I am investigating with my colleagues regarding the miscommunication about breakfast. It is important that our guests feel welcome, and enjoy all elements of their stay with us, and I'm sorry to read that this was not completely the case here. I have shared your feedback with the team, and we will take it in in the spirit it is attended. If you would wish to reach out to me personally, please don't hesitate to contact me by e-mail: raoul@themegaro.co.uk Warm regards, Raoul The Megaro

Arriving by Eurostar from the continent, we found this hotel to be extremely convenient, just across the road from St Pancras Int'l station. It has a fresh design (Steampunk fans please note the reception area), our Deluxe Double room was very spacious, and all amenities were as expected. The staff are exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the food was fresh and very good (apart from breakfast we also had a dinner in their eatery).

Had a great stay and the Megaro is super convinient if you are arriving to Kings Cross Station. Cross the road and you can’t miss the colourful building.

We dropped our bags off upon arrival, as we were too early for check in. The underground is accessed literally outside the front door, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very well decorated to a high standard, public areas are fantastic. Our Deluxe room was generous and was decorated to a quirky design, it’s a bit noisy due to the location but I imagine not many places are much quieter. Bed is comfy and pillows were great. Would stay again!

Originally I was booked at the Gyle hotel, but was moved to the Megaro without my acknowledgement. This hotel is listed as a 5 star hotel, but it’s no where near. The location is perfectly located next to the tube and train station which is convenient, but with that comes loud noise from the street at all times of the day. My room was located next to the staff closet and they were quite loud and chatty very early in the morning. The rooms aren’t soundproofed. To add to the noise, there was leaky faucet in the bathroom. When I arrived, there were piles of linen and trash in front of my door. The smell was very unwelcoming. The room was very warm making it impossible to rest. There was an A/C unit, but it was not cooling. I loved the room size, but the decor was plain. The room’s TV was outdated and only offered a few channels from satellite. It would have been nice to connect my phone to drown out the noise with music or to use Netflix or YouTube. The mini fridge only offered a coke or a beer.

If you’re looking to stay close to the station, this is perfect for you. If you’re looking for a good night rest, this isn’t best for you.
