myself and my Partner arrived for my birthday and was amazed how much of a buzz there was going around the venue, the staff at reception were awesome, quick, no fuss check in. in no time we were off to our room which was found with ease and met all our expectations. We went down to the bar to sharpen up before heading out, and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. At breakfast, the food that was served was fresh. hot and of a high quality, which is unusual when serving a buffet style breakfast. we had a cracking weekend and would highly recommend the Shankly Hotel, will defiantly be going back!.
Stay clear of this hotel, I had booked two nights in the Shankley. I arrived to check in and was greeted by a rude receptionist first off, was given my room, when i opened the door (late at night) i walked in and there was a man asleep in the room i was supposed to stay in. i got a huge fright and told the receptionist (who didnt believe me at first ) he then proceeded to give me another room with no explanation or no apology as to why or what had happened! shocking customer service! on the second day i left my luggage with concierge as i was afraid my stuff would be stolen. when i went back to the hotel to get into my room the card wouldnt work and they told me my room had be sold on?? even though i never checked out! again no apology and gave me a 3rd room. this hotel is a scam, filthy with awful customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!…
We really enjoyed our stay from start to finish. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly, helpful throughout. A special thank you shout out to Eric who looked after us so well! We will be back again soon.
Hotel is great for hens! Eric was amazing, so helpful and made our trip very enjoyable. Nothing was too much bother for him :) looking forward to coming back to stay again the next time we are in Liverpool!
Myself and my friend (30’s and 40’s) visited stayed here last weekend for a girly trip to Liverpool. We arrived at 3pm to a very noisy reception (music) hosting a hen doo and numerous bottomless brunches. At first glance it seemed a fun atmosphere so we headed to our room (213) to drop our bags. The carpets heading to the room were disgusting. Full of stains of god knows what. The room was ok! But in general the insta pics do not reflect the tired and worn decor everywhere. As we left the room to get a drink we bumped into numerous groups of women literally falling over drunk. We decided to give the roof top terrace a go and as we exited the lift, we were met by groups of lads in scruffy tracky bottoms and caps and a metal detector entrance to go out onto a scruffy terrace. We quickly headed to the downstairs bar for a cocktail. The bottomless brunches were still in full flow which was fine. We sat and enjoyed a cocktail to witness 3 women snorting coke in full view of everyone and nobody batted an eyelid. We got ready for the evening and headed out to the docks returning at about 1:30. At 3am we had the joy of being kept awake ALL night with drunken guests banging on the door knockers. We checked out early and the lovely receptionist Sophie asked if we had a nice stay and when I shook my head she asked me to fill in a review form for a manager to call. We sound like real party poopers and we are not at all. Its clearly a party hotel which is fine if that is clear on the website.. To pay £200 to get no sleep at all is ridiculous! Coming from Manchester, we would not expect the lax attitude to drug taking and dress code and 1 week later there has been no call from a manager proving they are mot interested. Its clearly aimed at the bottomless brunches and large party bedrooms so if that is not your bag, give it a swerve! Apparently the hotel is shown on a TV show called “the party hotel”. Advertising that on the website might help so that people know what they are getting!…
Just home from a great night away at the Shankly. Thanks to Rosalie on reception for sorting our room out. It was beautiful! She went the extra mile by ensuring we had arrival drinks and a lovely dessert plate in our room for my hubby’s birthday. Eric the concierge guy was also fantastic! They’re both so friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay guys xxx
We visited the shankly not knowing what to expect. We found the staff so helpful the location and having a car park took away the stress of finding parking and the prices not too bad for city centre parking. The room was crazy good they have loads of space and a huge bath. The whole hotel was clean and again had the most friendly staff. We enjoyed a lovely three course meal and the was a nice selection of food to pick from and the following morning breakfast was lovely. I would really recommend the hotel not just for the crazy fun rooms but for such a friendly kind and caring workforce. The staff really do make the stay and we look forward to visiting again very soon.
Excellent hotel and staff. Very good quality breakfast .Very well located for Liverpool city centre and all other attractions. Close proximity to Lime St Railway station.Large spacious room with whirlpool bath and shower. Plentiful hot water at all times. Evening menu a little restricted but restaurant was pleasant and spacious Would recommend for any visit to Liverpool without hesitation.
Does anyone actually work there to answer phones, literally trying for hours.Hotel cancelled booking when we stated that we were struggling to get there due to rail strike,we certainly didn't cancel! Now absolutely impossible to contact either by phone or e mail.
Would not visit the skankly shankly hotel again! Visited with a hen party a few weeks ago and the brides weekend was completely ruined, as she spent most of the weekend in tears feeling guilty for the weekend we all suffered! Our party stopped in the Laurent Pierre ‘pool’ room and I use the term ‘pool’ extremely loosely! It was a large bath in the middle of the room which was poorly maintained! The taps dripped all night resulting in staff in and out the room all hours to resolve- the solution was just to put towels under the taps, which continued to drip once they were sodden and we were unable to use the pool on our 2nd night due to this. There was mould through the room, on the curtains and bedding and in the “bath” which resulted in 2 party members ill health for 10 days after our stay. The room had no ventilation for the steam from the bath which will have lead to the mould, god knows how that passed health inspections! The upstairs room showers leaked downstairs, damaging peoples property, and resulted in a mattress being completely sodden on our return from a night out and having to be flipped and new bedding provided at 3am. We paid £60 for a balloon package to receive 21 cheap kids balloons in the entrance which looked appalling. We were told the projector screen was on working order, it wasn’t! There were fruit flies in the room… no fruit. TVs we’re hanging of the ceiling, and we’re an additional cost to use, which is disgusting when the party had already paid £3750 for the weekend. We approached several staff members with concerns through the weekend, most of whom were rude, with one even making an inappropriate comment to a party guest. We managed to speak with management who after several emails back and forth agreed to a full refund in return for all social media post and reviews taking down. Our party agreed to this and began removing posts, and later recieved an email from the management attempting to change the terms of the agreement for us to sign a non-disclosure agreement before receiving the refund. We would not sign this until we had proof we would still receive the refund. Email exchanges went quiet for a couple of weeks so when we emailed requesting our refund by a certain day we receive an email accusation of threats and bribery (which was what the manager originally did trying to get us to sign an NDA for a refund for HUSH MONEY!) It has now been nearly 6 weeks since our last email response and still no refund. It’s not about the money any more- it’s about how the hotel thinks they can get away with serious health and safety breaches by silencing past customers from raising awareness and sharing the truth with potential victims of their poor facilities and plastering “fake” photographs on social media for the “gram!” When it’s all an illusion to get your money! If it looks too good to be true, it is! Avoid this place if you don’t want to burn a whole in your pocket or risk your health! Would have had a better stay at fawlty towers.…
