Our room was nice and modern and I loved that the air-con was super easy to use. The wardrobe space was good and the room was of a good size. The bed was super comfy and it was nice to have a bedside table on either side of the bed with not only a reading light but also a lamp too. I like having the option to turn on the main room light of a day and then during the evening I like to use the lamps instead as it gets darker. There was a tall standing lamp in the corner of the room aswell as a desk lamp and our two bedside table lamps. The location was brilliant as you are just a stones throw away from the city centre and on site parking was great. All staff were super friendly and helpful but one member of staff who went above and beyond was the lovely Frank. A true gentlemen who helped us with our bags and escorted us to our room. He was also on hand to take photos outside the hotel of us in front of the beautiful anchor with the Liverpool Liver Buildings in the background and always had a beaming smile on his face. To be meeted and greeted by Frank was such a nice way to welcome us to the hotel and we want Frank to get the recognition he deserves. He is such a lovely man who genuinely cares about guests and is an absolute credit to The Crowne Plaza Hotel. The bathroom was really old fashioned and there was no extractor fan so it would make the room a little stuffy if the air-con fan was also not turned on. I would have liked a fridge already in the room but after calling reception to request one I had it delivered the next day so there was no problem and staff were more than happy to help. It would be great if Soya milk was offered as an option as opposed to dairy milk in the rooms that are there to use FOC. As a vegan I will not consume any animal products so to have vegan/plant milk and also vegan biscuits / chocolates in the room as opposed to ones made with animal milk would be nice because then both vegans and non-vegans can enjoy them but this is an issue across the board that all hotels need to address. I wasn't keen on not being able to open any windows in the room as I like to have fresh air circulating but as long as the air-con was on the room was kept nice and cool.

in an ideal position next to the Liverpool Cruise Terminal and Pier Head. Did the tourist things plus River Mersey Cruise. Watched the cruise ships and had a really nice time. Great staff very helpful and would recommend.

Myself and my partner stayed for 3 nights and on check in the receptionist (Aminah) was more than helpful and informative of everything we needed to know. There were a few issues with the room which she resolved straight away and we are extremely great full for that! It was such a lovely stay and we will definitely stay here in the future :)

We stayed here, on the 20/sept/22, and booked a waterside view room. The break was for as special birthday surprise for my partner. I am a gold elite member, so expected to receive the usual nice friendly treatment with a warm welcome, that we usually receive when staying in the IHG hotels. On check-in, it was not mentioned anything about our breakfast arrangements, where you go the time's it's served, as we have it usually explained on arrival. I enquired about the club lounge access, as this was not mentioned either, to be told we do not have access. This was one of the reasons we chose, the Crown Plaza, over the other nearby hotels, as I've found it to be a nice touch, we have had access to the club lounge at other crown plaza hotels as gold elite members. It was extra disappointing, as it spoilt are first impressions of Liverpool, and that the special loyalty, meant nothing. I could have easily have booked, a much nicer, more modern hotel nearby as there are many choices. Loyalty to one brand can easily be switched. However I do like to stay loyal for the treatment I've received in the past. We were allocated room, 441 on the 4th floor. Trying to enter the room our card's would not work, so another trip down to reception. After our card's being activated, we entered our room to find, crack's in the bathroom floor tiles, cracked sink, decor falling off and a chipped table, the bathroom smelt of stale urine also. I went back down to the hotel reception, to show the photos I've took of the state of the room offered. I was then offered another room , which I was shown first shown for inspection. This room was however, No room information of the hotel or nearby attractions supplied, so completely in the dark about what's going on locally, breakfasts time's, nothing or anything. Not the best start, for loyalty now is it. Very disappointed service, over priced car parking. Forget loyalty here, choose a more modern hotel nearby, ruined trip. This treatment changed everything, during our stay. I had also contacted the hotel customer relations prior to arrival, stating it was for a special surprise Birthday treat for my partner, this is why it made our treatment worse, as they were aware. Still never got a reply back. This has been our worst treatment and stay ever. Shouldn't have to complain to get basics right to loyal members especially, at the time of writing, we are still in the hotel, room 426. Customer relations.

We went back for just a night after a short break about 10 years ago; we remembered it as a very comfortable, central Hotel. We've travelled quite a lot & seen a variety of nice hotels. This disappointed slightly for the tired look of room & ensuite. We ere surprised to find no fridge, only kettle & coffee/tea/1 sachet of hot cocoa (in room with 2 double beds), plus 2 biscuits & 4 chocolates. Beds were comfortable & room clean. Breakfast buffet with good food variety & friendly staff but not particularly efficient: our plates were not cleared when we got up to get fruit/yogurts after egg & bacon, (hotel seemed quite busy, but a few of the waiters seemed to be chatting with other clients rather than paying attention when we were trying to ask for coffee refills. Very surprised that although there were many signs around public spaces recommending the use of masks, we saw basically nobody using masks or attempting any kind of distancing, including reception/restaurant staff who didn't use masks or gloves. Unlike other hotels we have visited since Covid, there was no provision of gloves at the buffet, so all utensils (tongs/ladles et) were shared with no precautions in place. The room was not exactly cheap at £295 & then we paid £14 each for breakfast, again not exorbitant but possibly not very good value for money either. Parking space is guaranteed next to the hotel & was £17 extra. For all these reasons we were underwhelmed, & might look for alternatives next time.
