We loved the Ambleside Lake House, it was a perfect hotel for a well-located, comfortable stay for me and my boyfriend while visiting the Lake District. I'd let the hotel know in advance it was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay, and I think they did treat us to a little upgrade, because we had one of their lovely hideaway rooms, AND it had a view of the lake, so that was brilliant. The room was well sized, warm and comfortable, and we loved the double shower! The hotel location is great, close to the lake, and just a walk away from Ambleside. The staff were brilliant throughout. But our favourite thing about it was the breakfast - I had the full cooked breakfast every day and loved it. My boyfriend had scrambled eggs, said they were the best he's ever tasted, and plans to email the hotel to ask what their secret is!! Their 'virtual buffet' for breakfast was great, as well as the cooked breakfast we had yogurt and pastries - we loved the fresh, warm croissants! Absolutely brilliant, the best hotel we stayed in during our trip.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel on Monday 25th October for one night and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed on arrival by Katie who was delightful, helpful and very informative about the local area. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also good and the water pressure was great. Breakfast was lovely and is cooked to order with a range of options to choose from. We would overall recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Ambleside.

I couldn't fault this hotel at all, from the friendly, efficient staff to its cleanliness. It's setting was perfect but be warned the hill to get to the house is steep but well worth it for the lovely view from the bedrooms at the front of the house which were spotless. It is right by the pier where you can get boat trips, and a couple of really nice restaurants. As its bed and breakfast we booked for a dinner in the hotels sister hotel the Regent (I think) where the food was excellent. You are asked what time you would like to take breakfast within a time range, so it was relaxed nothing seemed crowded and there was a really good choice on the menu. It is about a 20 minute walk into the centre where there are plenty of shops and a Beatrix Potter shop. I must admit I was sorry to had to leave. .

My partner and I throughly enjoyed our three night stay at the Ambleside Lakehouse. We'd had to reschedule our trip from earlier in the year (which was done with ease!) and we're so glad we did. It's the staff that make this place what it is. Every single member of the small team were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we did have some issues during our stay - just small things like the TV didn't work - but I think it speaks volumes that we would 100% stay here again. For us it was the way the team dealt with the issues that made us feel like they really cared about our experience. We were in one of the Hideaway Superior rooms. Despite being close to the road you couldn't hear the road at all and we had a lovely scenic view from our window. You can hear the occasional noise from adjoining rooms which is to be expected but we slept so well every night. The breakfast room overlooks the lake and the breakfast itself was fantastic. Great choice and quality ingredients and service was both friendly and efficient. The location of the hotel is fantastic. 10/15mins into Ambleside, and a great coffee shop, pub and chippie on your doorstep. When we last came to the lakes we treated ourselves to a stay The Samling hotel which was of course lovely, but both my husband and I would choose to come back to the Lakehouse for the atmosphere and location. It's a real gem! Thank you Lakehouse team!

Notwithstanding the daily rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, This guest house is spotless and haas been very well refurbished throughout. It was the staff however that made our stay memorable, with two new recruits Katie and Robert, who both went out of their way to make us feel totally at home and they gave us the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble. The same can be said for all the staff, it was always service with a large smile. It is a great location for touring the Lake District and having only spent three nights at the Lakeside it already feels like home from home. So good to have old fashioned service and values, so six stars from me if I could.
