This may be a 4 🌟 but it is much more NO star as far as breakfast goes. We had to say the day before what time we'd want breakfast. WHY?? The greeting and service at breakfast was very unfriendly and even surly. We did not feel at all welcome. The coffee was mediocre, milk cold, toast barely done at all and cold, no fresh juices, no fresh fruit only tinned, cooked breakfast served on cold plates. It's like they have no idea at all what 4 star 🌟 standard means. We've had much better in cheap B&B!! AVOID this hotel unless you don't mind being tipped off, the VERY poor breakfast was not reflected in the cost. Will not go again.

Watch out for rooms with no window, only a sky light. We had to pay for an upgrade to get a window!! The place is tired and most of the staff need customer care training. We couldn’t get the treatments we wanted that were advertised on the website and the length of time we had to wait at reception was ridiculous. On the plus side the restaurant and food was fantastic.

This hotel is tired and dated. On arrival I assumed we had taken a wrong turn and arrived at an old people’s home instead. It doesn’t represent value for money at all . We have stayed in far better places for less. A stopover rather than a destination hotel and trust me, unless you’re really tired keep driving! Poor quality rooms and poorly trained staff. The lady on the reception desk was particularly miserable. We booked on the basis that it was 8.1 on Booking.com. We can only assume that was out of 100. I’m writing this over dinner at the hotel. The food itself was fine, but I’m half way through dessert and they’ve already asked to remove my candle in preparation for breakfast. We were given an upgraded room on arrival; dear god, what are the standard rooms like??

27/7 Checked in @ 14.00 but didn’t actually get to our room until much later, sat waiting in the lounge area for 45 minutes as our room wasn’t ready. After a long morning of travelling this wasn’t ideal. Think we were just forgotten about due to the staff. 28/7 Breakfast at 09.15, my other half had a full breakfast which was apparently mediocre. I only had toast, which unfortunately arrived stone cold. Don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of stone cold toast. There’s also no variety, no fresh fruit or anything . 29/7 Breakfast at 10.00, waited what felt like forever for toast and a tea when it finally arrived it was mildly warm and only 4 pieces rather than the normal 6. What was worse was that my husband was waiting 35 minutes for what is clearly a pre-cooked and then warmed up English breakfast! The rooms are clean, and relatively comfortable but nothing amazing, need a refresh. The Bath/shower could do with a deeper clean though and changing of the shower curtain. There’s no do not disturb sign to place on your door. To be honest, amazed that it’s a 4 star. 2 at best. Definitely not worth the prices that they are charging.

Having read previously reviews I was a little concerned about visiting this hotel, I stayed there a few years ago and was very happy with it. The room was nice, a little small but clean and comfortable, although I would expect robes in a 4 star. The only downside to the room, besides size, was that the only window overlooked the pool & spa so no natural light. The reception staff could be better, check in experience just OK, was told breakfast was from 7am, we booked for 8am but came down a little earlier. One of the reception team pointed us in the the direction of breakfast but there was no one there. I asked again at reception and was told breakfast did not start until 8am (by the same lady who checked us in), when I pointed out that she had told us 7am, I got a 'so what' look. Restaurant staff at breakfast were brilliant, breakfast was good, missing items were quickly rectified BUT I think we all owe Zoe a big thank you for calling out the mouldy toast to all diners. We did check that thoroughly, thank you Zoe. The hotel is OK, the staff mixed but I do not think it is quite worth the cost.
