Stayed here as part of a deal as we had tickets for Paultons park. Nice clean hotel, food was a hour wait after we just got back from a long day at the park, luckily my kids had eaten at the park, the salad me and my husband brought wasn’t worth the money. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
This is our second time at this hotel while visiting Paulton park. Last visit was fine but this time had a room change as toilet didn’t work, staff sorted this out fine. Found the hotel was not as clean and tidy as should be but my main issue is that we are now getting parking fines from our stay and all the hassle of trying to get them sorted. Holiday inn need to start issuing receipt for car registered as parking eye are awful to be dealing with if no evidence.
My husband was an unexpected emergency inpatient at Southampton General hospital. I needed a place to stay that was convenient to get to and only 10 minutes away from the hospital.Greg (? manager) and the staff I met were extremely accommodating and I will never forget their kindness in my hour of need. The room was ideal, clean and well presented. Breakfast, on a bank holiday weekend, was a bit frenetic but they all coped wonderfully and deserve praise.
First off, I have raised this complaint with IHG direct and have a basic response from them via email stating that they don't actually have a Hotel Manager at the moment and that this is an excuse for the state that we found it in. We stayed in room 204 as a family of 4 for 2nts before getting a ferry to the Ise of Wight. The sofa bed had been made up which does take up the rest of the room and you can't access the desk etc. Let's be honest, this isn't really a 'family' room'. Two lights were not working, the sofa bed was actually broken and wouldn't lie flat (making it extremely uncomfortable), furniture was marked, mirrors in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly and it just felt really grubby. This was topped off by someone smoking in a nearby room and having is waft into our open window during August... There were no staff available to complain to at the desk as those that were there (as friendly as they were, to give them credit!) were busy in the restaurant area. There wasn't even anyone to speak with when we departed. The hotel seemed woefully understaffed - emphasised by takeaway boxes and trays and glasses being left in the corridor the whole time we were there. For the price we paid for the 2 nights (and rest assured we did look for somewhere else for the second night it was that bad but couldn't find anything), it was poor value for money and given that we are still in a pandemic, unacceptably poor in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.…
Just got back from this hotel after visiting our son. Me and my wife stayed for 2 nights. The room we had on the ground floor was lovely and clean. Tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board, TV and a fan. The bed was very comfy. The shower was great, very easy to use. The breakfast every morning was spot on and set us up for the day. The staff were great, very helpful and helped us with any queries we had. A big bonus was there was plenty of parking. Definitely would recommend this hotel and would stay again when in Southampton
