Stayed here at the beginning of January with my friends for a post university meet up. First impressions of hotel was okay, a little annoying that you have to get a lift to get to reception and also to get around the hotel you require a key? My friend got locked in the stairs

This is a strange one. I'm very local to this hotel. Needed somewhere to stay as, after a knee replacement, I couldn't access my flat. It's a Premier. Close the curtains and you could be anywhere but the rooms are comfortable and clean. What made this place stand out for me were

Dear Tim K, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor, We are so glad you had a good stay with us at Portsmouth City Centre Premier Inn. We also think our staff are what makes us special. The location of the hotel also helps but it really is our dedicated team of Housekeepers, Receptionists, Waiting Staff and Chefs who add that extra sparkle. Once again, thank you for your kind review. We look forward to seeing you again (although we would not wish another operation on you). Kind regards, David

I paid £112 for a twin bedroom and breakfast for 2. The room contained one normal double bed and then a single bed that was not the same quality as the double bed. It was squeezed in to the room up against the wall where the curtains were. Which when my son turned over in

Dear Alison W, Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. Our twin rooms are all made up in this way (A double bed and one single bed), other than our accessible rooms which have two smaller beds. We are sorry to hear your sty did not live up to our own high standards. Had you reported the issue to our reception team, who are available 24 hours a day, we would have done our best to sort the issues with your TV there and then. As to check out: again, we do have staff on reception 24 hours a day but occasionally they are called to help other guests in the hotel. We are disappointed to hear that you won't be choosing Premier Inn in future. If you do choose to book with us again, please call the hotel with your booking reference number and we will endeavor to ensure your stay is a good one. Kind regards, David

Overall good value for money. Food was excellent. Breakfast good variety but a little slow to cook. Service was good and rooms were clean. Only issue was we had little sleep as trains right outside window went every 15 minutes until midnight. I’d stay at premier inn again but

Dear travelprincess83, Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. We are glad you found us overall good value and we also think our team give excellent service. I am sorry to hear that the noise from the train station kept you awake. I'm afraid it goes hand in hand with the convenience of being so close to good transport links. But if you do decide to stay with us again, phone us once you've made your booking and we can try to allocate you on the opposite side of the hotel. We do hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, David

Hi Smiler52, The Guildhall (and Guildhall Square) is less than 50 metres from the front door. Also on Guildhall Square are a few restaurants (A Brewhouse Kitchen micro brewery and restaraunt plus a Wetherspoons and and Yates Bar which both serve food). Wetherspoons serve breakfast (if you don't fancy the all you can eat breakfast in our own Thyme Restaurant). Many of the big name restaurants have relocated to Gunwharf Quays (about 15 minutes walk away) and there are many other, family run, restaurants in Portsmouth and Southsea. We hope to see you soon.

Sorry I’ve only just seen your question. There is a pay & display small car park around the back near rail station - could suit drop-off as only a 50M walk, same side of main road as the hotel. I used this for same reason and afterwards parked in the Isambard Multi-story car park. Cheap parking available for hotel patrons - ask when checking in. Hope this not too late to help!? Bob

Hi Andrea P, Portsmouth International Ferry Port is about 5 minutes away in a taxi... and as Jon S has suggested above, taxis are available from the train station or we can call a cab for you from reception.

The hotel does not have a car park, secure or otherwise. You'd need to look for nearby car parks. The nearest that I'm aware of is the Craswell Street car park, but I'm not sure how secure it is overnight.
