Room was very nice – clean, large enough, nice bathroom, extremely comfortable bed. Service was also good, with free parking on the streets. Breakfast was good as well - only drawback was that specialty coffees cost extra we’re not included in the breakfast price. Good price value. All in all a very enjoyable experience!

What an absolute gem of a boutique hotel. We stayed in Somerset House at the start of July, and loved it so much we treated ourselves to the suite in Florence Suites a few weeks later. We had a beautiful large room and separate living area, with a large decking area outside. Everything is such high quality and we had a wonderful night’s sleep. The only thing that would have made it even nicer would have been a mini-fridge but it was hardly a deal-breaker! The breakfast is absolutely gorgeous with lots of menu choices, all cooked to order. Staff are friendly and helpful. I’m sure we’ll be back soon!

The whole experience from check in to check out two days later was amazing. The room was perfect, beautiful furnished and very clean with fluffy towels and pillows. The breakfast was the nicest and biggest breakfast we have ever been served in a hotel. All the staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble. We were lucky enough to have sunny warm weather on the Friday so we sat outside in the garden and were served a very nice evening meal, the burgers were cooked on the BBQ in the garden. Parking In the road(free with permit) can be a problem if you are returning later in the day so we paid £10.00 a day to park right outside the hotel. We would not hesitate to book The Florence Boutique Hotel again in the future.

The Mercer Collection comprises an eclectic mix of a number of local adjacent Victoria properties with a central reception area, where you will also find some reserved parking spaces. These can be reserved on payment of £10 per day. Free parking is available by way of a residents permit for the immediate surrounding area on a "find a space if you can" basis. During our stay we rarely saw available spaces. I should stress at the outset that this is a factual review, not a complaint. We booked through booking.com, and judging by this and previous bookings through booking.com, it appears that the smallest room is assigned. Although described as a "standard double", room 1 was one of the smallest hotel rooms we have stayed in. Photos attached. I know that "boutique" means small, and this room has the appearance of many features being shoe-horned into a small area in order to meet a criteria of facilities. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, although there was room for just one bedside table. Hanging and storage space was limited to a free-standing unit shown clearly in one photo. The toilet and shower unit was akin to a cupboard, with very restricted space for anyone sitting on the loo. Breakfast was good, with a variety of options available.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a little break away, such a beautiful hotel, the room was spotless, clean, nicely decorated and good size. Bed was so comfy! Everything you could need. Only tiny downsize was no hairdryer in the room but not the end of the world! Breakfast was fantastic, so fresh and well cooked. Good selection to choose from. All the staff were polite friendly and welcoming. Will 100% be back!

We stumbled across this lovely hotel whilst trying to find accommodation for one night ans it was amazing . They basically have 4 or 5 buildings with a small amount of rooms in which are very close together, very accommodating on arrival The hotel is spotless and our room was amazing in decor and cleanliness whilst being very relaxing. Breakfast was amazing too , will definitely return when next in the area x

We stayed here for one night and were very pleased with our choice and the area. Our room was lovely, well decorated and with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room and hotel was spotless, beautifully decorated and characterful. The breakfast room was across the road from our building but only a few minutes walk. There was plenty of room to park in the car park of our building. Location wise Southsea front, promenade and gardens were just at the end of our road and in the other direction is The Florence Arms Gastro Pub. A lovely community pub well worth a visit.

Stayed for two nights and enjoyed the trip. We had an issue with the room on the first night but the solution was found and dealt with by a friendly and professional approach from the reception desk Parking in the area is congested and we were lucky to get one of the few car parking spaces owned by the hotel so we didn’t use our car at all during our stay This however did not spoil our stay as there are so many restaurants and things to do within walking distance The friendliness of the staff makes the stay here more pleasant and enjoyable
