Beautiful guest house, superb food, and staff that are attentive and friendly . In the heart of rye in mermaid street this stunning bed and breakfast is perfect for a romantic getaway. A real gem . A superb breakfast menu, our room was large airy and decorated in the period . Everything is in walking distance- we ate at the mermaid inn just across the street and at Webb’s fish restaurant - fabulous food . You must also check out the champagne bar - great ambiance. Will definitely return Thankyou all for making us most welcome Sharon and David
Jeake's House always provides such a luxurious stay, the staff are friendly, professional and welcoming, the breakfasts delicious. The hotel is so comfortable to relax in... Looking forward to our next visit.
This is the second time we have stayed here and again we were absolutely delighted. We stayed in the Benson Room, very comfortable bed, hot drinks and cold water and biscuits amply supplied. Our dog was welcomed and he certainly enjoyed his sausage every day for breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast menu is exceptional with so much choice. Would thoroughly recommend the Eggs Benedict. The hotel is situated in Mermaid Street and in walking distance of everywhere in the town. We are already looking at dates for our next stay.
We stayed for 2 nights at the end of July and were really impressed with the hotel. We stayed in the Elizabeth Fry room which although not very big, was beautifully decorated light and airy and peaceful as it overlooked the garden. The house itself is like a national trust historical property, full of interesting portraits and old photos. There is a little ‘honesty bar’ with newspapers and magazines provided which would be very cosy in winter. We were very grateful to the lovely receptionist for recommending several good pubs to eat in - the globe marsh inn was our favourite. Breakfast was good although the poached eggs were hit or miss ( 50% success rate) and we found the background piano music a bit irritating. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.
We have not been putting reviews on Tripadvisor during the Covid situation, even though we have had staycations. But now things are returning to a kind of normal we feel we can. We spent 4 enjoyable nights at Jeakes House this week. The hotel is situated in the prettiest street in Rye, but with no adjoining parking. This was not a problem, after dropping our luggage off we were directed to there own car park a few streets away, no charge for parking. The hotel is a very old building with very steep stairs, no problem to ourselves. The breakfast selection & quality was very good if not one of the best we have been offered in the UK. They do not do other meals apart from breakfast but this is not a problem as Rye is well blessed with good local bars, cafes & restaurants . It is nice to see a British hotel going the extra mile & not charging the earth, especially this year.…
